Quarantine Sale

Hello my lovelies.

We all know it’s a bit of a… not good time at the moment, but I bring a little glimmer of light. NineStar Press is having a 40% off sale across the board, which means that for the rest of March, you can get books 3-5 of the Out of Time series for $4.20!

Or any of their other books, but I’m trying this pimping myself thing for a change :)

Book 3 - Time Taken

image

Time travel is a precarious business at the best of times, but when
Qasim El-Fahkri’s mission to the past ends in violence, it has a ripple
effect through every level of the Temporal Research Institute.
Rhys
Griffiths finds himself caught in the wake of the disastrous jump, his
own career uncertain. With the Supervisory Board breathing down his
neck, operatives demanding answers to baffling questions, and life
outside of work bearing down on him, his only respite comes from Qasim’s
company. As the professional slowly becomes the personal, they must
confront the echoes of their own pasts to try and move forward in the
future.
But another past is waiting for Qasim, and there may be no coming back from this one…

Book 4 - Time Turns

image

As a consultant analyst for the most technologically advanced firms
in the country, Danny Ferguson knows he’s seen a lot of crazy stuff, but
nothing comes close to his newest position at the Temporal Research
Institute, the world’s foremost time travel organisation.
The
corrupted piece of code Ferguson found on the TRI’s closed network is a
serious concern for Lysander O’Donohue, the director of the TRI. Unable
to trust his own people—any one of whom might be the source—he’s forced
to put all his trust in Danny to solve the mystery of the corrupt code
and find the identity of the enemy within.
But when an unexpected temporal gate opens, a straightforward code analysis becomes something a lot more complicated.

Book 5 - Out of Time

[Redacted for spoilers for previous two books] :)

REVIEW: Out of Time Series Finale, by C.B. Lewis – Queer Sci Fi

REVIEW: Out of Time Series Finale, by C.B. Lewis – Queer Sci Fi:

Just received this absolutely wonderful review for Time Turns and Out of Time and have the biggest, daftest grin on my face.

A few of the highlights:

Bouncing between a slightly ahead future and a great many places past, this series always delivers a world that feels real.

Lewis writes one of those rare books where, as you’re reading, you forget that reading is happening. You’re simply lost in the story, seeing it play out like a film behind the eyes. I can give no higher praise. Between good use of description, clever scene setting and great repartee, the author draws you in.

It’s an amazing temporal and emotional pretzel, and exactly that delicious.

This has become one of my absolute favorite series. Hands down best time travel writing around. Great, realistic diversity. Wonderful people. Terrible situations. And a whole lot of love.
Read it now. Or in the near future. Better yet, read it yesterday

Here's some random trivia about the Out of Time characters:

Lysander’s primary influence for leadership is Jean-Luc Picard. It’s also the reason for his addiction to Earl Grey, when he’s stressed.Jacob’s favourite musician in his teens was Emile Sande. It was one of her future concerts that he attended with his son in Time Lost.Rhys used to do nude modelling at an art college. He still as a couple of sketches one of the students did of him. It’s entirely possible that Qasim was given one of those sketches as a present.
Kit is an only child of a doting single mum. His dad was never even in the picture.Janos still attends church at least once or twice a month. Dieter will sometimes go with him for the major occasions, even though he’s a self-confessed atheist, because he knows it’s important to Janos.
Danny is one of two kids and utterly spoils his sister’s children. He insists he’s the cool uncle. They insist he’s the rich geek uncle. And then he chases them and throws them over his shoulders and spins around until they’re all screaming and laughing.Dieter and Janos went back to Hungary several times between book 1 and book 4, but Janos was incredibly uncomfortable because his Hungarian was so outdated compared to the modern version and he felt more out of place there than he ever had in England.

I got the loveliest big review today for books 1-3 of the Out of Time series.

Overall Rating - 5 stars

An energetic, clever and lovable ride through time, with a good crew along the way. I’m definitely picking up book four.

Time Turns - book four and the penultimate book of the Out of Time series - is now available for pre-order. Pre-ordered copies will be released three days in advance of the release date of September 16th :)

Happy release day to one and all :D I hope you enjoy this, the penultimate book, in the series.

For a release day special, here’s a sneak peek:

“Isn’t that a security risk?” Danny finally said. “Me, I mean.”
“Like I said, you’ve been discreet.”
Danny folded his arms, frowning in thought. “What if I get hammered?”
“What?”
“If I get hammered?” Danny gazed back at him. By the glow of the screens, Lysander could see the flecks of gold in his hazel eyes. “What if I’m pished and I started spouting off about time travel and the TRI and the traitor?”
Lysander frowned, puzzled. “Are you saying you don’t want to go out?”
Danny pushed himself up off the desk. “I’m saying I might need a chaperone.”
It was Lysander’s turn to stare. “Excuse me?”
“A chaperone. Someone to knock me on the head if I start running my mouth.” One side of his mouth turned up. “And since you’re the only one who knows why I’m here and knows what I know…”
“Me?” Lysander felt blindsided. “You’re joking, right? I mean I’m—it’s—” He shook his head, dazed. “I don’t think you want me chaperoning.”
The smirk widened into a smile. “Why not? It might be fun.”
