An end to all sonnets and a true end
Is this lifetime’s distance which I must build,
Constructed of what days cannot transcend,
That never ever will a crossing yield.
Forever is a daunting span of time
When all those memories of peace exist,
Those words which in my ageless ears will chime,
And that Dream which was, perhaps, maybe mine.
But I am dying in this toxic Now,
And I would gladly toss me life away
If it could preserve you and I somehow,
But I cannot see you as monster’s prey.
