The Mistake
I must have stood at a crossroads
When time gave pause for thought.
No person ordered me to act:
Moments were mine to consider.
I knew to well those dual roads
And where both would lead:
One to the content and peace,
The other to that age old storm.
Before me both choices were mine
And I was well aware,
But still I chose the downard path
To live in this Mistake’s shadow.

Recalls me to the time I invented jagelcoke. Jaegermeister, coke and lilt. Sounds like a horrible combination, looks like a horrible combination and indeed smells like a horrible combination but actually tastes nice. Ish. It tastes nice at parties. Despite this, I am trying to bring jagelcoke into fashion and make it a legit drink. One day, people will walk into bars and casually say “one jagelcoke please.”

I slept and woke up from a dream
That today never was.

That I could still be them.

Of a dream
That I could live and breathe like them
And have the life I once had feared
And run from every living day.
But in my dreaming dreamer’s dream
I saw myself amongst the world, smiling
And content. A new start, I resolved
Upon, to keep myself at bay - for I had
Felt a newer I
Who finally was free
Who finally saw that thing
Someone called happines...
