Lincoln Center honors criminal as a national hero.

The Lincoln Center in Washington, D.C. — America’s premier arbiter of high culture — is honoring with musical productions two people they American heroes: Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Breonna Taylor.

That was probably made before we learned this week that Breonna was up to her eyeballs in all sorts of criminal activity.

Or maybe that’s why they honored her!

Free fares for fellas threatens New York subways with ruin. A new podcast from Colin Flaherty.

Three years ago, New York stopped writing tickets for people who evaded fares on the subways.

People in the district attorney’s office and the subway authority were very explicit: 93 percent of the fare evaders were black or brown and that is not fair. So let’s just stop trying to catch people who do it.

Fare evasion exploded from 3 percent to at least 20 percent of riders. Costing the city millions of a dollars a week.

Today’s news carries this gem: The New York city subways are going to need $12 billion to stay afloat.

And now the same people who gave away free rides are wondering where the money went and how they are going to get some more.
