I can’t let anyone look into my stationery drawers without...

I can’t let anyone look into my stationery drawers without feeling acute embarrassment about the amount of stationery and other writing accoutrements  I own. And then there is the matter of the large gold paperclips I bought. They are far too bright to use. Why did I buy them? I’ve tried to use them but the gold distracts me. It looks so gaudy. And why am I so fussy about the paperclips I use? That sort of behaviour is a bit bothering. There are a lot of things I can understand being fussy about. But paperclips?
