Ethan's Earl and other Updates

-walks into Purple Fantasy Den, coughing at dust-

Wow, it's been a while since I've updated. Please forgive me. I have been busy and running around everywhere. Between going back to school, going to retreats, planning for conventions, writing, doing homework and preparing for not only my daughter's birthday in November but my move to Chicago in December, I barely remember to eat every day.

But I have happy news for you.

So, on my list of things to write I'd planned out to write Elian then Mark Me then Ethan's Earl then The Alpha Team then Daddy's Boy then Damien & Roman: Forever then The Cowboy's Fireman. Then I had a Christmas story in mind. But between going blind and my constant trips to the doctor my schedule is about three months off.

But you know me, the Vic doesn't let stuff like that keep him down for too long.

So, I got back to writing and before I knew it I'd finished Ethan's Earl, completely off schedule, wrote 20k words of Elian, and 5k words of Mark Me. I'm writing when I can and writing when I should be sleeping (yep, according to my handy dandy talking watch it's almost 230am and I'm still awake-I blame the nap from earlier), but it's all coming together.

More updates:

I went to the Silver Publishing retreat in Tennessee for their authors and staff members and met some really awesome authors, perhaps you've heard of them? Andi Anderson, Toni Griffin, Freddy MacKay, Angel Martinez, Silvia Violet and Mathilde Watson? Yes? Well, I met a lot of others and reconnected with old author friends: Stormy Glenn, Amber Kell, Shae Connor. Got to meet AKM Miles (I know, absolutely awesome, she reminds me of Doris Day when she talks) and got a chance to meet (and fanboy) all over RJ Scott. When I left the retreat I had a host of new friends and a new family.

That new family and I are writing an anthology together: Anderson, Griffin, MacKay, Martinez, Violet and Watson and I couldn't be more excited.

Yeah, because you know I needed more to write.

Which is why I got an idea for a whole new series and pitched it to Silver while I was there: Medically Marvelous or Medical Marvels, haven't made up my mind on the series title yet, but that's more to add to my little arsenal of Vic tricks.

But besides those things it's business as usual. Preparing for GRL never seems to end until you're actually THERE and then you usually end up remembering something that you forgot "Oh shit, where the hell did I put those decorative penises?" So I'm doing that when I'm not writing or doing schoolwork, which seems to be all I do, but I can't complain because even with all of the medical stuff going on with me, I still get to do something that I love. Create new worlds, new people, new lives and give them all happy-ever-afters and that's something that always brings a smile to my face.

So to summarize: Be expecting a lot more Vicktor Alexander books to be coming your way because I'm back into my writing flow and it feels so good.

My next release? Ethan's Earl and I'm putting the picture in here so you all can drool over it. I got a chance to see it before I went blind so I know what a beauty it is.

BTW, have you joined the Vicktor Alexander group? It's the only place to get VSPs (Vic Swag Points) that you can use to purchase exclusive swag from me just by the points you earn by commenting on blog posts, interviews, answering questions and getting involved. I'm also going to be starting an exclusive Vicktor Alexander yahoo group story that only they will get, so you never know what you might be missing. Here's the link: Vicktor Alexander Yahoo Group

Have a great weekend all and drool over this cover:

Half Off A Faery and Winners!

The Faery Truth is available for 50% off at ARe! This is the perfect time to go and buy it (click the linky). The deal is called the "College Student Special" so it's the best time to take advantage of the fact that I'm back in college and remembering what it felt like to be a college student all over again. And some of you have asked, and the answer is no, you don't have to have read the first book in order to be able to follow and understand what happens in my book which is the second one in the series, but I think you'll like the first one anyway.
Also, as you all may have recalled I was featured on SJD Peterson's blog talking about GRL (here) and also my character, Ethan Doughtery, from "Mickey's Duke" and the upcoming "Ethan's Earl" was interviewed over at IRMC (here) and everyone who left a comment was entered to win a prize. Either a paperback copy of "Elian" when it releases or "Ethan's Earl" when it releases. No, I didn't announce that those who commented would be entered because I wanted to see who would comment without the promise of goodies. Evil, yes, I know. But now you all know to always go comment everywhere I am because I love giving away goodies. Also, those who commented and didn't win, and who are a part of my Yahoo group (join the group here) received three VSP: Vic Swag Points, that they can use towards purchasing something from the Vic Swag Store or VSS. For example, an ebook copy of one of my books, a bracelet, a mug, t-shirt, etc.
The winners from SJD Peterson's blog and the IRMC interview are: Archie and Paula Hadgraft! Congratulations ladies! I've already contacted you about your prize so be looking for my email.
I don't have any interviews or guest posts coming up soon, but be on the lookout, I will let you know when I do and you're going to want to comment, because you just never know what you might win.
Congratz again to the winners!

Graceland by Ally Blue

Graceland Graceland by Ally Blue
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow. I could feel the emotions of these characters, the gripping fear, the heartbreak, the joy, the passion and the love, they oozed and bled off of every page. I laughed out loud and hell if I didn't cry at some parts.

Being both black and Cherokee Indian I was both excited and nervous about reading a book where one of the main characters is black and the other is Cherokee as there is still some hostility between Cherokee and Freedmen, but Ally handled it with grace, even discussing the tension there. My granny would have loved this book as she was proud of both her African and her Cherokee heritage and she would have found Owen adorable and Kevin sexy.

At one point I could almost hear her say "'Dem boys need to stop actin' a fool and just get together already."

And at the end my Granny Mary would have sighed and looked at me and said, "Now baby, that's real love and commitment. That's trust. That's forever. I want that for you, because if you have something like this, you know it's real."

Yeah I do too Granny.

That's the feeling that I had when I finished this book. That my spirit had reconnected with my Granny's and we'd read this book together. I felt more connected to the Cherokee part of my heritage and the African part of my heritage, but more than that Kevin and Owen's love came out of the book and wrapped me in its embrace.

I wish I could give the book more than 5 stars, but that's the maximum Goodreads will allow me. I totally suggest you read it, especially if you don't think a book has the power to make you feel loved. And read it if you know that it does.

Just read it.

Ethan Doughtery at IRMC

Ethan Doughtery, Mickey's steward from "Mickey's Duke" is being interviewed over at IRMC today. He's excited and bouncing all over the place (and annoying Mickey, who's a little miffed that he wasn't interviewed) much to the amusement of Alexander and he would love it if you checked him out and left a comment:

http://www.irmcbooks.com/?p=2230
And my assistants will be checking to see who leaves a comment over there, and one person will win a free paperback copy of "Ethan's Earl" when it releases.
So go! Go now!
-Vicktor Alexander

To catch a glimpse of Ethan and his earl, Alexander, you can read Mickey's Duke: Available at ARe, Bookstrand, Kindle and on paperback at Amazon
