Author Interview at Paromantasy
Evie at Paromantasy has posted an interview with me on her website. She is a tremendously talented book blogger whose reviews have resulted in my ever growing kindle addiction. I'm honored that she's given me the opportunity to tell readers a bit more about myself and showcase my book.
Tomorrow she will be posting a full review of To the Cliffside.
Here are some of the things Evie had to say about the book:
We are shining the spotlight on a brand new author that has quickly caught out attention with her unputdownable book To The Cliffside, B Jane Lawson! This book will grab you from the very first page and will not let you go. There is non-stop action, puzzling mysteries, a wonderful array of characters, and the sexual tension between Morganna and Cal is through the roof!
Here is a snippet from the interview:
Tell us about yourself.
I'm a Chicago- native living in Los Angeles. I try to divide my time between necessity and interest. I love to be challenged physically and mentally - biking, hiking and walking are some of my favorite outdoor activities. I'm not sure anything will compete with a hot soy chai latte and a good book on a Saturday morning or a rough day. I'm both an audacious extrovert as well as an extreme introvert. Those two sides of my personality tend to always be at war with one another.
I look forward to sharing the review with you all tomorrow!

Turkey day

We are en route to San Francisco as I write this. Los Angeles is a ghost town now. Quite indicative of its nature.
I am thankful to all my readers and fans who have taken the time to read my debut novel. I am doubly thankful for the reviews and word of mouth recommendations that have been shared.
I could not have done this without the support of ny family - my numerous siblings, cousins, aunts, my mom and dad, friends and Brandon who has been hearing about morganna for the better part of two years.
The best part of this experience has been the support. I may never be wildly successful doing this but I have been made to feel that those I love most are extremely proud of me.
Thank you everyone and I am looking forward to bringing you something heart-stopping with Over the Cliff's Edge.

Rainy Nights, Stone Men
Tonight my handsome, intelligent better half is flying back from Detroit and so I'm left with the other men in my life - the Stone brothers. I thought I'd gift everyone with a little teaser from Over the Cliff's Edge.
"What? Why? Where are we going?"
"This is not question and answer time. This is do as I say and let's get the hell out of here time." Yep, super pissed.
Since he'd made a declaration of avoidance just this morning, I could be assured that this little excursion was not of his own volition. Instead of waiting for my reply, he started to pull drawers out and rifle through them.
"Do you have anything black in here?"
"Hey!" I shouted as he started tossing items onto the floor. "Do you mind?"
"Not at all."
I slammed the drawer he palmed shut and threw my body across the dresser. Arms flung wide, I demanded with more courage than I felt, "You are not going through my clothes."
Callupo took a step closer, crowding me as per usual, "Two minutes. Then I'm picking you up and hauling you out of here in whatever level of dress you reach." He was much too controlled to let the door slam behind him, though.
I hope my Los Angelenos are enjoying the rain as much as I am.

Interview at Fangtastic Books
Interested in hearing more abou the creation of Morganna Cork and Puesta del Sol? Fangtastic books has posted an interview with me, check out a blurb below:
Do you have a formula for developing characters? Like do you create a character sketch or list of attributes before you start writing or do you just let the character develop as you write?
I describe my writing style as marinating. I get an idea, a concept or a person in my head and it marinates like a roast until it's done. I can't write a single thing about it until I've thought about it while I'm jogging, riding in the car, biking, showering, you name it. By the time I get to the computer, I've developed this full character sketch that encompasses their physical characteristics and persona. They exist as a real person in my mind at that point in time. During this 'marination' process, I am inspired from things ranging from a woman in front of me at Starbucks to a magazine ad to a phone call I've had at work.
What is your favorite scene from the book? Could you share a little bit of it, without spoilers of course?
The scene is outside the local pub - Bar None. I like this scene because its the first time Morganna realizes that Callupo isn't easily fooled or thwarted.
Anya and I high-tailed it out the door and into the parking lot. Had we known then what we knew now, we'd have fared the fight for sure.
Directly in front of where Niko had parked the car was a black pickup truck. The minute I recognized it, I took one step back and tried to re-route us.
I felt the familiar crackle of magic even before I had finished turning around. When I did it, was just as I had suspected. Callupo and Ralph stood there, arms folded, matching scowls and black t-shirts. Didn't they know it was like forty degrees outside? And why was his upper body so jam-packed with muscle? This man incited a reaction from me that was damned frustrating.

I literally read this book in one sitting I was so intrigued.
Sharon over at Obsession with Books was kind enough to review To the Cliffside:
"All in all, Ms Lawson has created a quick and enjoyable read, I really enjoyed the magical aspects, the pacing of the book was consistent; it immediately caught my attention from the first page and certainly held it. It was clever and original with all of the paranormals I have come to enjoy and I loved the writing style. This book literally has everything and I really hope the sequel won't be too far off. ..."
Sharon and her reviews, including the rest of this one, can be found on Goodreads and her website.
