On the Front Porch with Cathryn Fox!!

Even though its been hotter than blazes 
around here, the sunsets are as gorgeous as ever! Hovering that moment just before twilight, the sky is awash in a kalelidoscope of purple, pink, and peachy-yellow layers. It is my favorite time of day, and I reminds me of the Indian summer days ahead--with crisp evenings that promise a weather change is emminent! I hope you have a chance to find a shady spot on a porch to read a book, share a glass of tea with a neighbor, or just sit and enjoy the view! 


As promised, today we have another in the trio of talented authors writing the hot new series at Samhain Publishing--WHISPERING COVE!

Amanda: Without further adieu, here is a little bit about Cathryn Fox!


Cathryn Fox is a multi published author in the romance genre. She is a wife, mom, sister, daughter, and friend. She loves dogs, sunny weather, anything chocolate (she never says no to a brownie) pizza and watermelon. She has two teenagers who keep her busy with their never ending activities, and a husband who is convinced he can turn her into a mixed martial arts fan. Cathryn can never find balance in her life, is always trying to find time to go to the gym, can never keep up with emails, Facebook or Twitter and tries to write page-turning books that her readers will love.


Amanda: I heard you have a favorite summertime drink? We've hit triple digits this week in the heat index, what have you got for us that's cool and refreshing?

Raspberry Lemonade
 Ingredients
4 cups fresh lemon juice
3 cups sugar1 bag frozen raspberriesIce cubes, for servingDirectionsSqueeze the lemons and pour the juice into a pitcher. Mix together the sugar with 3 cups water and stir to dissolve to make a syrup. Add the syrup to the lemon juice and top it up with 8 cups water. Taste to make sure it's sweet enough for you, and then add the raspberries. Mix the lemonade together and let chill in the fridge. (Keep in mind that the raspberries are tart, so be sure to sweeten enough!)
Fill glass jars with ice cubes and top them off with the lemonade.



Amanda: Sounds positively delightful! While we enjoy a bit of this tangy & sweet concotion, maybe you could share with us , what inspired you to write this story?
Cat: Hum...what inspired me to write this story? I had just finished visiting the small coastal town of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia when I was chatting with Nikki.  She mentioned she wanted to do an anthology and I jumped on it, wanting to set the stories is such a beautiful place like Lunenburg.
Amanda: How about a sneek peek from Brazen??


Excerpt from BRAZEN:
He was just about to shout to Trent, who was chatting quietly with Katy, to tell him to close up the kissing booth so he could do a count, when another woman dropped down into the seat across from him. Adam lifted his head to see who it was, and opened his mouth to inform her that his shift was over, but when he caught sight of the beautiful girl sitting across from him, the world around him tilted on its axis and his stomach punched into his throat. “Adam,” Josie greeted, those big blue eyes of hers staring at him as her mouth turned up in a warm, inviting smile—the same breath-robbing smile she’d given him earlier that day.“What…what are you doing?” he finally managed to ask once he regained control of his voice.She causally rolled one shoulder, and slid her dollar across the counter. “Like you, I’m just doing my part to raise money for the new community center.”“Oh,” he said, and wet his lips. “I guess I just didn’t expect…”She gave him an easy, playful grin, and everything in the way she looked at him had his body reacting with heated need. His glance raced over her face, taking in her big eyes, full, lush mouth and long blonde hair. Christ, she looked so gorgeous and sensual that it had his cock tightening to the point of pain. With the summer waning (yet not the heat, go figure) my thoughts turn to fall! Autumn is by far, my favorite time of year! I'm wondering what our lack of rain may do to the fall colors this year! But I'm looking forward to a trip to Holland , Michigan with friends in October that's sure to have some gorgeous views!!

On the Front Porch, Mackenzie McKade!!

Today on the front porch we have another of the talented women involv ed in the HOT new series at Samhain called WHISPERING COVE!

I've known Mac through meeting at RT when we served on the faery court together and ever since we've been booksigning buddies due to our last name placement;) I told Mac this year at RT that I swiped her Mackenzie name when creating Rein Mackenzie--my tormeted cowboy hero in Rustlers Heart (Book #2-the Kinnson Legacy series!)




But enough about cowboys (though Mac is great at those too!) Lets get to know more about her first! mac , tell us about you!

Mackenzie: Born and raised in the deserts of Arizona, I love the mountains and lakes. If I'm not at the computer writing or buried nose deep in a book you’ll find me camping, or on a four-wheeler, or a jet ski, or being pulled behind a boat on an oblong tube called a ‘hot dog’ laughing my butt off.My greatest accomplishment is my family. I have a wonderful husband of almost thirty years, three beautiful girls and three devilishly handsome grandsons who keep me on my toes!As writing is a passion with many—it’s an obsession with me. Who knew that the wild things going on in my head someone would actually read? But I'm thankful you do and hope you find joy and entertainment in the sometimes—okay most of the time—risqué ramblings. What inspired you to write this particular story? Mackenzie: I love Brody, my hero from my first Whispering Cove book (Wild), so when Cathryn and Nikki and I agreed to write another series it seemed only natural to write about his brother. Reece's character was already formulated in my head, so he was a natural for me. I had already established his career, his carefree attitude, all I needed was a heroine that would keep him jumping. I knew I had to have a self-assured, strong and independent woman.
Every story needs conflict, so what better way to introduce it then forbidden love. With that thought Tabatha Taylor or Tabby who is the sister of Reece's best friend, his very protective best friend, arose.  Tabby has had a crush on Reece since she was a child. That crush has evolved into love and a helluva ride for one man who doesn't want to cross the line of friendship. But sometimes the heart is control, which Reece learns the hard way.
I love the way the characters in these stories crossover into other stories! Gotta love small town life!! Can you share an excerpt with us?





Excerpt from BOLD~“Hungry, cowboy?” The sexy female voice at the bottom of the ladder had him missing the next rung. He bumped his chin on the upper step as he caught his balance, saving him from tumbling to the ground. When he looked down, his eyes nearly popped from their sockets. Damn if he hadn’t conjured the little minx, but her mere presence wasn’t what held him enthralled. The tomboy had turned into a beautiful young woman, hotter than hell, with a killer five-foot-five body that attracted every man between the ages of sixteen and ninety-two. Her full plump lips were parted by a self-satisfied smirk. “Whoa there. I never thought I’d see a ladder buck the great Reece McGrath off.” She batted long eyelashes the same sooty color of her elbow-length hair. Seconds passed and he still hadn’t found his tongue. Instead he continued to stare, and it wasn’t at her heart-shaped lips, because they weren’t the only plump items on her curvy body. No. Her low-cut, skin-tight T-shirt molded a perfect set of D-cups and a deep cleavage a man could get lost in. He swiped another gloved hand over his damp forehead and inhaled her exotic perfume, something flowery and untamed, uniquely Tabby.
