A day off
Today was a holiday, and so took the day off from writing even though I am scheduled to at least write 1000 words. I am working on my third book, tentatively titled, Running in Texas. ( If anyone has a better name please suggest away.)
I am three fourths done and getting to the place where I feel that my writing sucks and that once again I have written a book with no plot. This is my last attempt at writing a category romance. My first full length novel was picked up by Avon Impulse and scheduled to be released in October 2011.
My second book, Texas Wide Open, is still sitting in the inbox of the Harlequin editor.
But, today instead of working on my WIP, (my goal is to have it done by RWA nationals, which means 25,000 words in less than 30 days!) I went to a pool party. I ate lots of salsa and chips, drank a margarita, and got thrown into the pool, but now I am looking at my word count and feeling guilty. I hate feeling guilty. Sigh.
Maybe I can pound out 1000 words in an hour, or worse, do 2000 tomorrow.

My first sale!
I am so excited to announce to the world that my first novel is coming out from Avon Impulse.
My novel, Dark Future, is my first completed work of fiction. I started writing Dark Future years ago when my first child was born. At the time I would just write long hand when I had a few minutes between diaper changes and naps. After a few years it turned into a full length novel, but it wasn’t until I joined RWA (Romance Writers of America) that I learned how to change my ramblings into a work of fiction.
Now I spend countless hours in the chair working on my craft. In the years I’ve learned to write a bit faster and now have two other completed novels under my belt. But I have to say, Dark Future, like your first born, will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks Avon for letting me get my book out to the world.
