What’s on tap…

Hey Knights!

I wanted to give you an update as to what’s going on with me. I’m still having health issues and while I hope each day I’m getting better, I still have pain that’s preventing me from being on the computer for a long period of time. That being said, I have no idea when my next book will release. Heck, I don’t even know which book it will be. You all voted and it was almost 50/50 between getting Brooke & Easton’s next book or Paul’s book. The majority was Brooke & Easton. And while I’ve started to write it, Paul keeps talking to me. So … I’m going to maybe try and write both at the same time. I don’t know …

This is what I feel like … donuts and all!

Anyway, please keep following me on Facebook because you never know, I just might write a new book, lol. In the meantime, please add both to your TBR …

Angels & Whiskey and more …

It’s almost been a month since Angels & Whiskey graced reader’s hands. Where you one of those people? I hope so! The reviews, emails, messages on Facebook, etc. have all positive… well mostly, lol. Even though I said Angels & Whiskey would be a standalone, I think about 90% of the reviews I’ve read have said they want Paul’s story. While writing Angels & Whiskey, I actually decided to write Paul’s story. I haven’t decided if it’s going to be a series or a companion novel. I really wanted Angels & Whiskey to be a standalone and not a series. Anyway, my big reveal for this blog is yes, I’m going to write Paul’s story. The title will be Tequila & Lace. I haven’t added it to Goodreads yet and probably won’t until I’ve decided about the series thing.

If you’re thinking that Tequila & Lace is what I’m writing next … maybe. I know you all want me to tell you and I will. Just not yet. I don’t want to put pressure on myself about a release date until I’ve actually written more than one paragraph. Most of you know that I’m going through medical issues and I’m trying to focus on that because I’m not 100% healed from my surgeries.

Since my surgeries, I’ve started looking into essential oils. For a few weeks I was taking about eight to ten pills three times a day. Of course they all did something different, but I don’t want to go down that road again. I want to be healthy and while essential oils may sound hippy, they have gotten me off sleeping medication, so now I’m a believer, lol. Anyway, I don’t want to bore you with details, but just know that I’m trying to get another book out and you should make sure to follow me to know what book and when it will release.

Join my reader group on Facebook and make sure notifications are turned on.

If you want to look into the oils, you can here. No pressure. Really I was a skeptic so I completely understand. If you do, however, have questions, please feel free to message or email me (authorkknight@gmail.com).

It’s done!!!

Hey everyone!

I’m excited to announce that I have finished Angels & Whiskey! It was a month late due to me being in the hospital in December and recovering since then. But it’s DONE!!! I can’t wait for you all to meet Gabe and Autumn. Their story is different than any other I have written. I tired to make the story as funny as I could given what both of these characters go through in their lives…

His PAST haunts him.

Her PRESENT is hell.

Their FUTURE is…

In case you haven’t read the synopsis for A&W, let me tell you and then I will explain a little bit more about the story…

Angels&Whiskey2

Whiskey, women and sleepless nights…

United States Army Captain Gabriel Hastings knew he would always follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. Serving his country was his destiny.

Until he fell in love…

When Gabe’s love affair is cut short, he turns to whiskey for comfort and swears he will never fall in love again.

Until he bumps into an unexpected angel…

By all appearances, Autumn Jones has the perfect life. Her husband, Richard, is a loving man who wants to be a father to her unborn children. But Autumn knows the truth. Richard has a controlling, dark side that leaves nothing to chance, especially Autumn. He’ll stop at nothing to make her the trophy wife he wants her to be.

Given the synopsis, you know that Autumn is married to a “dark” man. He’s controlling and wants Autumn to be his perfect trophy wife. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of nomore.org, but for everyone in a bad relationship, you need to realize that your life matters and say “no more”. Nomore.org is there to help you and for you to say NO MORE to domestic violence and sexual assault and to make domestic violence and sexual assault awareness and prevention a priority year-round.

The day before last, I went to their website to add it to Angels & Whiskey so people can easily find it. What I didn’t realize was #NoMoreWeek is March 8th through the 14th. Gabe and Autumn realize that things happen for a reason in A&W and when I saw that the take action week was the week of A&W’s release, I was stunned.

Originally the release date was February 9th, but I had to change it due to everything in my life. (A&W is releasing March 9th) I hated to change the date, but like they say: everything happens for a reason. It’s perfect if you think about it. Angels & Whiskey is releasing the SAME week of #NoMoreWeek. So please do me a favor and join their Thunderclap campaign to help spread awareness: https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/22120-together-we-can

***** IMPORTANT *****

***** IMPORTANT *****

As you may or may not know, I had to have major surgery in December. My plan was to have Angels & Whiskey done before I went under the knife, however, that did not happen. If you’ve been following my updates, you know that I’m in a tremendous amount of pain due to the surgeons having to cut a nerve. I fought the battle long enough and even though I had all intentions of releasing Angels & Whiskey on 2/9, that is not going to happen.

Part of me feels that the story is almost done, but there is also a part of me that feels that I may rush it. So… I’ve decided to push the release to 3/9 instead. You can still pre-order and if you have pre-ordered your copy already, you should receive an email with the new release date.

Thank you for all your well wishes and I wish I could have released A&W when I wanted to, but some things are out of our control and right now I need to focus on healing.

Thank you for understanding and I love you all.

On another note, if you haven’t read Brandon’s POV for my B&S series, you can get it for 99 cents on Amazon for the next 2 days!

Fulfill Your New Year’s Resolution with Romance Novels

If past years are any indication of this one, let’s face it—a lot of us aren’t going to complete our New Year’s resolutions. In fact, according to Statistic Brain, a 2014 study confirmed that only 8 percent of people who made resolutions in 2013 ended up achieving them.

Even if you have the best intentions to do so, life just tends to get in the way. Maybe you get busy and start skipping planned evenings on the treadmill. Then, before you know it, the track on that $500+ clothes hanger is covered in a layer of dust. Maybe you wanted to sign up for that charity auction in the spring, but the way your finances ended up going, you should probably be the beneficiary of such an event, not the benefactor. They don’t ever seem lofty when you make them, but when it comes to actually completing them, they can be downright daunting.

However, for the lucky few of you who made a New Year’s resolution to read more in 2015, you may actually be able to cross that one off your list before the end of January with the help of a steamy book. Romance novels are a fun and easy way to meet and exceed your goals fast.

No, this isn’t a short-cut solution like taking a new supplement that promises a 20-pound weight loss in a week. Romance novels can actually help pique your interest in reading, making you more likely to spend your free time doing so.

There’s no secret how the genre does it either. Along with the equal importance of quality writing, a lot of the credit goes to the topic of sex and romance in general, as they’ve always grabbed our attention. Plus the somewhat taboo genre can help you feel like you’re being indulgent, almost naughty, the same way you feel when eating an entire pint of ice cream…with a Snickers bar for a spoon.

As Live Strong explains, when we allow ourselves to indulge, our brain releases endorphins, or the “happy” chemicals. Romance novels allow for the same indulgence in guilty pleasures, just without the guilt part (or the expanding waistline). So when you’re presented with page after page of sexy, endorphin-releasing dialogue, you’re certainly not going to look for entertainment elsewhere. In fact, you may find yourself tearing through covers faster than ever before.

Even you heterosexual macho guys out there can enjoy the genre in a way beyond your need to satisfy a resolution to read more. Reading romance novels is a great way to help achieve goals of bettering your relationship and being an overall happier person. The same endorphins and benefits obtained by women who read romance novels are just as easily achieved by men; men are just less likely to take advantage of it. So if you’re among those whose pride is still keeping them from reading the genre for their own entertainment, you should still sincerely consider the benefits it could have for your relationship. As Adam & Eve explains, romance and erotic novels are great ways to spice up your relationship with your partner. They’re brimming with ideas on everything from entertaining date nights, to new positions and games. Also, reading them out loud with your partner can be an engaging and intimate way to get you both in

the mood for whatever the book inspires.

This year, instead of indulging in sweets, indulge in a good romance book. Along with all the other benefits the romance genre has to offer, they can help you feel accomplished, as you’ll finally able to join that rare aforementioned group—the “8 percenters.”

And what better way by reading the books of mine that you haven’t be able to get to yet… Check out my complete list of books here!
