Entering tiny line edits to Troll or Derby. Won't be online much until I complete this final edit.
I know I've said it before, but I MEAN IT. I just really need to finish this part so I can move on, and interacting with all of your lovely faces & personalities and witty quips online will keep me from finishing this!!! I gotta finish this before I move on to writing That Cracking Silence, don't I?
Playing with you will be my reward.
PS For those of you who haven't played roller derby, the above pic is of the team taking a knee for a fallen/injured player. This is traditional, regardless of what team the injured player is on. Everyone takes a knee. Seems fittin', don't it?

Morning, kids. Here's hoping wherever you are, you've got a nice, cozy fire going, and you're warming up by it, right now. Maybe with a nice hot mug of cocoa, huh?
Well, last week both my husband and my ex-husband were sick. So what, you say? The what is this: I had to juggle all four kids and two dogs and one of the sick people all by my lonesome. Yes, yes, boo hoo, I know—but that means I'm only 20% of the way done re-reading Troll or Derby! Argh! I'm going to double-down this week and finish it up.
I just finished a graphic for Bloody Bookish, where I'll be featured for the next six months (Yay!!!), and after I get done answering email & stuff, I'll be back to reading!
Can't wait to see sketches from my cover artist! And get this mss in the email to my betas!
I've decided to take the time to query a few agents with this one, in between working on That Crackling Silence. I just think Troll or Derby could hang with the best of Melissa Marr & Holly Black, and I don't think I'm high when I say that.
OH! Speaking of which, one of the two authors above twittered me over the weekend. How cool is that? So far that's two out of three authors who heavily influenced this book. Perhaps the third will come around, as well. (Melissa Marr twittered me a few days ago, and Jonathan Stroud twittered me in September.) Wee! This is me having a geekasm, people. As close as it gets, until Jo Rowling invites me to go shopping w/ her in London, or something, I don't know.
In related/unrelated news, my infant daughter gets excited whenever she hears music now. It's really impossibly cute. Here's the song she was digging on just now, entitled Rollerblades:
Too bad it's not entitled Quad Skates, huh? Oh, well. Anyway you choose to roll is fine w/ me, and most likely fine with Roller Deb. Now, back to that final read-through…
