The Availability List grows…

Oh, by the gracious gods!

Y’all have taken Decimus and Luciana into your hearts and embraced them FULLY! I’ve had more sales in these first couple of weeks than I ever thought possible, and the reviews that I’ve received so far have been truly touching. Amazon US sold out of paperback copies on release date, and it looks as though they’re about to have to reorder more paperbacks soon. Thank you so, so much for enabling this crazy writer’s dream!

I’ve got review copies going into the mail with some extra goodies for those wonderful folks to enjoy. I’m currently waiting on my own next shipment of paperbacks, but if you are interested in a review package and would be willing to leave a review for me upon reading the book, please get in touch! I will be more than happy to send a copy your way!

For my fellow readers and book lovers local to Lexington, KY:

I just received word that my book will now be carried by Joseph-Beth Booksellers! If you are local to the area, run down there and order your copy - it helps them know there’s a local reader base for me in my own city!

I will also be returning to my old workplace, the Barnes & Noble on Sir Barton Way, sometime this winter for a book event and would love for you all to come out and have a chat - I promise to bring cool Roman artifacts! More details soon to come.

I’m looking at a couple of more local bookshops to potentially carry my book, and I will pass on details as soon as I get them!

In the meantime, I hope those of you with the book in hand enjoy the story! I hope you come away as in love with the period as I am!

Release Day!

The day has finally come. What started as a way to pass an interminable lockdown four years ago has now been unleashed to the world. I am nervous and excited all at once!

Firstly, I want to thank everyone who has expressed such enthusiasm for the book prior to release - that really, truly means the world to me! I hope that it somehow lives up to your expectations! Secondly, a deeply heartfelt thanks goes to the retailers that have chosen to carry my book - thank you for the faith you have expressed in me and I can’t wait to meet readers through your amazing store fronts! Finally, to Historium Press for deciding to take me on and publish my series. My fellow HP authors are so incredibly talented and I am honoured that my little series is counted among the ranks of their amazing books!

While I prefer you order your copy from your favourite indie bookshop or physical store, it is Amazon Prime day and I would be remiss not to plug my brand-new book through Amazon if you wish to take advantage of today’s deals:

Amazon US

Amazon UK

Amazon AU

If you’ve already purchased a copy, THANK YOU! I hope you enjoy and, if you can, please leave a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads when you’ve finished it! Every little bit helps boost indie titles in the algorithm!

I am floored by the support and enthusiasm for my little fellow Cancer baby. Happy release day, ‘Venator.’ I can’t wait to see where you take me as a newly published author!

Pre-Orders Are Live!

The first book in the Roman Equestrian Series, ‘Venator’ now has a publication date: 16 JULY 2024! It only seems fitting that my first child will, like me, be a Cancer baby, and believe me, books are indeed children given all the labour that goes into their creation. Preorder links are now LIVE on my website - please feel free to order from your favourite retailer! More links will pop up as they become available, so keep checking back if you don’t see your retailer of choice just yet.

I am so excited to share this series with all of you! Watch this space for more to come!

Welcome to my website!

It is finally here! I can’t believe that I’ve now officially launched my own author website!

Salve! My name is A.M. Swink. I am the author of the Roman Equestrian series. The first book in the series, ‘Venator,’ will be available from Historium Press later this summer. Feel free to poke around the different pages to learn more about the book, the series, and the characters.

If you want to keep up to date, you can subscribe to my email list to receive updates about my books and events (I promise not to spam you very often). Watch this space here for blog posts, updates, and announcements! I am currently working on a novella that will be available exclusively to email list subscribers, so stay tuned!

If you want to see more of me (on a more frequent basis), then please follow me on your social media of choice! I’m on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Goodreads, Threads, and BlueSky if you want to see photos from research jaunts and want to hear about whatever books I’m currently reading.

Finally, the second book in the series is already partially completed. I began writing this series under the mistaken impression that it was going to be one novel, so parts of the second and third books are already written. It probably won’t start whipping into shape until NaNoWriMo (when I force myself to write the bare minimum each day), but you will be the first to hear of progress on ‘Roman Equestrian II: Gradarius.’

May the gods go with you!
