HE���S GOT THE POWER

In 1990, the German electronic band ���Snap!��� released their hit song ���The Power��� as the first single on their debut album. The song reached the number-one spot in six different European and African countries and plateaued at Number Two on the US Billboard Top 100 Songs. I don���t like to think about the fact that this song is more than 30 years old now because it makes me feel old. However, it���s still a popular song in commercials and at sporting events, especially the iconic beat at the beginning. Don���t lie, I���m sure it���s been playing in your head ever since you started reading this post just like it���s been playing in my head as I write.

PARTLY CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF STORMS

Jesus��� message is clear ��� life isn���t always easy, but His words and teachings can fortify our hearts and minds so that we���re ready to stand strong no matter what happens. When we know that our long-term well-being isn���t in question, we���re able to approach the everyday trials and tribulations of life with a different sort of attitude. Rather than wondering what life will look like on the other side, we���re able to draw closer to God in the roughest seasons.

James Bryan Smith describes himself as the Forrest Gump of American Christianity.That���s an odd statement and one that���s definitely worth some time spent unpacking.

FAITH IN ACTION

Out of the 22 million brackets filled out on major platforms like ESPN and CBS Sports, none were still perfect after the initial weekend of the tournament. Perhaps that���s why we love March Madness so much. We watch the games in anticipation of an unexpected outcome, and we know that anything can happen in a single game. To put it simply, we have an affinity for the underdog.

The San Antonio Spurs have historically been one of the most successful NBA franchises. Only four teams (Lakers, Celtics, Warriors, and Bulls) have won more championships overall. The Spurs were especially dominant in the early 2000s, winning titles in 2003, 2005, and 2007 after capturing their first Larry O���Brien trophy in 1999.

I usually disagree with generalizations. I would say I always disagree with them, but it seems silly to argue against a generalization with a generalization. That said, I strongly believe you can narrow down all aspects of life into two categories: What you can control and What you can���t control...

There are many aspects of life that we can���t control, but the situations where we lack influence are often tremendous opportunities for our faith to grow and flourish.

Discipline and personal growth typically don���t happen by accident. Have you ever lost track of time, looked up, and realized you were on your fifth set of burpees or your third chapter of a self-improvement book? Me neither.

DO I KNOW YOU?

Imagine that you���re a fan of a celebrity, such as an athlete or a movie star. You might know facts or trivia about that person. Perhaps you could name movies or TV shows they starred in or awards they won in their sport. You might even know about their personal life, their background, and their interests. You could know all kinds of information about them, but that doesn���t necessarily equate to a relationship.
