J.A. Konrath's Resolutions - No Social Media?
For those of you who don't know J.A. (Joe) Konrath , he is a self
publishing guru. He is in the Amazon million dollar club and has a very
successful blog, where self published authors (like me) go to read any small
piece of advice we can glean in the hopes of duplicating his success.
Every year, he posts his resolutions for the current year on his blog which he adds to the previous years'
publishing guru. He is in the Amazon million dollar club and has a very

I'm

She is temporarily reducing the price from January 8-22. If you love fantasy,
don't miss this opportunity to get it before the price goes back up.
Here

Writing Resolution - No Gym Membership Required
Ah, New Year's, one of my least favorite holidays. Not
sure why really. It's supposed to represent new beginnings, and the hope that
this year will be better than the last. It could be that I already miss
Christmas and New Year's Day is just a reminder that next Christmas is a long
way off. I did try the party thing for a
few years, but since I'm not especially social, I would usually hide

The Ghost of Christmas Past
When I was very young, I remember going to my
grandmother's house for Christmas. She had two brothers and two sisters, and my
great-grandparents were still alive. We would have a small family gathering on
Christmas Eve and then spend Christmas Day all together.
After my great-grandparents passed away, and my
grandparents got older, my mother had a more difficult time packing everything

Mental Health Services "Slipping Through the Cracks"
This is a controversial and emotional blog post. It is my
opinion based on my 25+ years of experience in the field of psychology.
The recent school shooting in Connecticut has given
politicians another reason to push gun control. So many people in social media
outlets like Facebook have been at each other’s throats arguing about this
issue. However, I’m here to tell you that guns are not

The Story that Changed Everything
If you read my blog or follow me on Facebook or Twitter,
you know that I home school my son. What you may not know is that it wasn’t by
choice. Evan is an amazing bundle of energy in motion. To say that he is a
challenge would be an incredible understatement. I spent most of his earlier
years fighting with doctors and schools to get him the help he needed, but it
became clear that they just

Write? What if I'm Wrong?
So it's been a little over a year since I published my
first book. In that time, I have also published my second book, expanded my
Facebook network, started a Facebook fan page, got on Twitter and Goodreads, started
this blog, and ran some free promo days for my first book. I'm currently working
on making a website. All the things that are supposed to equal increased book
sales. I have been

Author Interview - Meet James Garcia, Jr.
I am
absolutely thrilled to have James Garcia, Jr. on my blog. James (Jimmy as he is
known to his friends and fans) has recently released the second book in his
Dance on Fire series – Flash Point. I just finished reading the first book,
Dance on Fire, and Jimmy was kind enough to agree to let me pick his brain. As
usual, check out the links after the interview to see how you can keep in touch
