Gender-fluid; bonded to Hudson and Connie but as of right now has no idea. Kit’s ex-boyfriend was Don; hunter. Tricked Kit which led to the attack on Austin and Kit finding out about the paranormal world. The ex has disappeared now after attack at Kit's bookstore. Kit is currently living at Hudson's compound for safety reasons. He as agreed to a sexual relationship with Connie and Hudson, not knowing just who he is to the two

You can live off the land and still use various gadgets and appliances in communes. You can even log on to the Internet. Used solar power, farmed, raised animals for food, and so on. 

Kit has two dads and a mom. Very accepting of his Kit’s desire not to conform to accepted ideas of masculinity. Did go to college to get a business degree. As much as he loved his parents and his communal living, he still left home and moved to San DeLain. So, close to his parents. He is an only child.

This series is the second set of books in the world of San DeLain. There will be three books with the dragons, and this is definitely going to be a slow burn series that stretches out over the three books. Kit, Hudson, and Connie will get their HEA, but I don’t want to rush this relationship.

Since there will be several series based in this world, and each series will build off the last, I highly recommend reading the series in order.

Thursday Book Recommendation

 

These are books I’ve read and really enjoyed. Most of what I talk about will probably be paranormal/scifi but not always. Although it’s rare, I do read some contemporary. 

This week is:  The First and Last Adventure of Kit Sawyer by S.E. Harmon

Blurb:

Fire Court of San DeLain info

  HUDSON’S DRAGON’S

Hudson – dragon; King of the Fire Court of SanDeLain; Hudson’s home is called Redmond Compound. Consideredan Ancient by other paranormalsmainly because of his age (a thousand years old). His court has 40 members.

Hudsonowns a helicopter and can fly it. Did in book #1 Daemons of San DeLain; owns a private jet too whichKage and Austin are using to go to Greece right now

Dragonstend to take what they want, including humans. And yet dragons whined about howtheir chosen mates often fought them in the beginning. 

A dragon can extend a human’s live by giving them their blood like the daemon do. Dragons are born(hatched) not changed, so you can’t turn a human into a dragon. Dragons can only reproduce with another dragon because they lay eggs. In regard to red dragons:History says mates who are not dragon-born can withstand their red dragon fire.

Race,meaning skin color in human form, does not matter. It’s all about the haircolor with Reds.

Dragonsonly need round 5 hrs of sleep, although they can sleep longer. They just don’tneed it.

A group of dragons are called a court..

Hudsoncollects gold/gemstones (esp rubies)

Dragons have control over ALL types of fire. Like a fire in a fireplace, a flame from a candle, and so on. 

They can breathe fire in either form (Hudson burned a hunter in Chasing Shadows while in human form)

Dragons are magical creatures, so yes, reds can conjure fire in any form and do magic/spells

All Fire Court has shades of red hair and brown eyes. A trait of red dragons in human form 

They also love to fight and are the most powerful of the dragons.

Sir/Mistress: 500-699

Lord/Lady: 700 to 999

Grand Lord/Lady: 1000+ who not bornking/queen

King/Queen must be born, they are atotally red dragon--sign they are a king or queen

For the average person, life during thistime would be very difficult indeed and luck would play a huge part in yourability to survive.) Back then dragons mainly stayed in dragon form and hid fromhumans

A back and forth game leads to something far more real than either of usbargained for, and before long Grayson is in my bed and my heart. 

Iwant Grayson on his knees for me, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes toget him there, even if that means I have to humble myself before the man who’stoo scared to trust me with his heart.

One second Hudson wassound asleep, and the next, he was wide-awake and on the verge of transforminginto his true form. He wrestled the urge back, but it was a near thing.

By the dragon gods, hewas even panting. It had been hundreds of years since he’d come close to losingcontrol. What the hell? But something had nearly caused that loss of controland fear in his chest.

Yes, fear. Along withsadness.

Shoving his sweaty hairback, he glanced at the clock and grimaced. Five fucking o’clock in themorning? The fuck? A memory flirted on the edge of his consciousness, just outof reach and fading quickly.

Hudson desperately triedto grab ahold of it. But like fairy dust, it slipped away no matter how hard hetried to hold on to it. There had been someone standing in the moon’s light,but for some reason, Hudson hadn’t been able to clearly see him.

But the one thing he didknow was that it was a man, and he had long, light-brown hair. Dragons of theFire Court had red hair. Every. Last. One. Of. Them. Whoever he’d been dreamingabout, it had not been Connie or any other dragon in his court.

And he’d been circlingabove the man in his dragon form.

“Fuck!” Connie clutchedHudson’s arm, his claws sinking into flesh. “I think I’m going to—”

Hudson quickly glanced atConnie, who was sitting in bed next to him. His eyes were those of his dragon,his claws were out, and his horns were extending from his forehead. His skinwas quickly fading to that sickly gray color that signified a partial shift.

Hudson grabbed Connie’schin and stared into his eyes. “No.” The powerful voice of his dragon demandedattention. “You will not change.”

Connie sucked in abreath. “Yes… yes, my king. Dragon gods above, I will not lose control!”

As Hudson watched, Conniefought for control. Breath shuddering, he gave himself over to Hudson’s demand.Eventually Connie’s eyes returned to their lovely shade of brown, his hornsreceded, and his claws disappeared.

“What the fuck was that?”Connie choked out, still shaking. “I was dreaming about, about, something, andnow I can’t really remember, but I kept hearing the word ‘choose’ and thensuddenly I was really upset, and I just, I just….”

“Easy, sweetheart.”Hudson wrapped Connie up in his arms.

“I almost lost control. Ican’t believe I almost lost control. I could’ve easily destroyed this sectionof your house if I had changed into my dragon.”

“But you didn’t.” Butit’d been close. “You got the urge under control. Do you remember what you weredreaming?”

“Good thing I was in bedwith you because I don’t think I would have otherwise. And no, I don’t reallyremember. It’s like it’s there, right on the edge of my brain, but I can’tremember for some reason.”

“Okay.” Hudson huggedConnie again. “But you remember the word ‘choose’, right?”

“Yes. It’s like the wordwas shouting inside of my head. But I don’t think it was aimed at me. And I wasafraid. And upset. Sad. Oh, wait. I do remember something.”

“What?”

“I was circling above aperson in dragon form, but he had long, light-brown hair. He wasn’t one of uswith that hair color.”

Goose bumps crawled upHudson’s back. There was no way, absolutely no way, they could’ve both had thesame dream. Could they? It certainly sounded like they had. “Connie?”

“Yes?”

“It was a man? You’resure?”

“I am, but I don’t knowwhy I’m sure.”

Hudson took a deep breathbefore replying. “I think I had the same dream.”
