Final Day of the Perfect release/Birthday Bash!
Whoot! Whoot! And here we are! Day 3 of the giveaway and my birthday! Thank you guys for all the happy birthday wishes, y’all are the best. I tell you what, I’ve had a blast reading the comments. Thank you for answering! I love seeing what you guys think. :) It’s been a great three days. Perfecthas been released, and thanks to everyone that has already got a copy! If you have it now, I hope you enjoy the new version. It won’t be long before Pure will be out and the whole gang will be back, lol.
So, for the final day, let’s do this:
Did you know…
~My favorite color is red, but I’m fond of black, white, and pink. We have four cars here and two are while, one is red, and one is black, lol. Funny how that worked out. No, there is no pink car. Hahahahaha.
~I drink waaay too much Coke, but I have cut down lately. Actually, I’ve gotten on an ice kick, lol. I’ve been crushing ice up and eating it… like several cups a day. And I mean one of those big cups. No idea why, lol, but it’s help cut back on all the soda. Hey, did y'all notice... the cans are red! I like red, lol.~My favorite meal is steak, potatoes, salad. My second would be spaghetti with garlic bread. I hate spinach, lol. To be honest, I’m not fond of veggies at all. Sad, huh? My favorite fruit is cherries. Gak, I can eat cherries straight from the jar, lol.
~I’m pretty easy-going and rarely will argue with someone, even if I know I’m right. *shrug* I don’t like confrontation and try to avoid it… right up the point I’m finally pushed too far, and I lose my temper. I don’t scream and yell…but yeah, there will be cussing, lol. It’s when I get very cold and short I’m truly furious. It doesn’t happen often. I’m more of a peace-keeper type, lol.
~I don’t watch much TV but I do like some shows. And my tastes run from Top Shot to Project Runway lol. Love me some scifi also. Oh, God, and football. I’m a football nut. During the season I don’t work on Sunday’s lol. I’m a Steelers fan as some of you may know.
~I love water, but being an Aquarius that shouldn’t be a surprise, lol. There’s a big pond in the backyard, plus we live in the country. Seriously, there’s nothing better than sitting on the back porch and watching the ducks. Speaking of which, there’s more wild animals here than you can shake a stick at, lol. And I love it. ~My favorite author’s are: J.D. Robb, R.J. Ward, and Linda Howard. My favorite music is Rock, but I like the stuff from a while ago. Yes, I like Metallica (Enter Sandman), Ozzy (No More Tears) lol, is that ringing any bells??? And I could just go on, lol.
~I’m not much on traveling now because of my back. But I’ve been to just about every major city here in the US when I was a kid. LOL, my dad was a WW2 vet and there were these Reunions we attended every summer. At the time I didn’t know how lucky I was.
So, on to the question…
What kind of cake do you like?
Don’t forget those email addies when answering too! I’ll announce the winner later this evening.

Blurb:
Jaded billionaire Jeff Mayfield loves only what his money and power can buy, but the Fates have plans for him. First a player in Jeff’s casino hits a huge jackpot and things turn hectic. Then, in the middle of the chaos, Jeff lays eyes on the unbelievably sexy Cam Smith—Cupid in his human form.
Seized by lust, Jeff makes a move, only to find himself on the receiving end of a blistering wave of sexual intent. Cam disassembles Jeff’s self-image and puts it back together upside down. But Jeff isn’t the only one struggling with control. Cam’s alter ego is Jealousy, and if he loses his composure, the consequences will be deadly.
Excerpt:
Jeff returned to the office and was reading over reports while he waited for night. Zygi was with him. After reading the same paragraph for the third time, he gave up and slammed the report down.
“Problem?”
“I hate to do this, but I want you to run Cam.” Jeff leaned his head back against the leather chair. “I have a meeting to attend. I’ll check back with you after it’s over.”
“That may not be enough time.”
“You can give me what you got.”
“This thing’s getting serious, huh?”
“Yes, it is. He may be the one, Zygi. I feel like a heel doing this, but….”
“After Brad, I think it’s a good idea.” Zygi settled a hip against Jeff’s desk.
“Maybe. I’m almost scared to see what, if anything, you find. And it doesn’t seem I’m the only one with a love interest. What about Cam’s friend—Mo? Do you think he’ll come to you?”
“I don’t know. I’m going to give him a few days. If he doesn’t show up here, I’ll go after him.”
“Well, that sounds… vaguely threatening.” Jeff grinned as he poured himself a drink.
Zygi grunted. “I wanted him to come to me, but he may be too shy. But that’s okay too. If Cam checks out, I may enlist his help.”
“Poor guy doesn’t stand a chance.” Jeff chuckled as he gathered up the papers he needed for his meeting. “But take it slow. Mo seems really unsure of himself. Plus you are a big dude and a bit intimidating.”
“Big, hairy, and scary.” Zygi rolled his eyes. “Isn’t that what Garrett said all those months ago when Randy ran away?”
“Huh, yeah. I’d forgotten that. Okay, I’ve got to go to that stupid meeting. I’ll check back with you in a couple of hours.” Jeff stood staring off into space, not moving.
“What’s up?”
“Oh, just remembering something else Garrett said.”
“What?”
“He said that since he had fallen to Cupid’s arrow, you and I would be next. I told him I was happy being a playboy bachelor and fully intended to stay that way for a long, long time. Looks like I’ve changed my mind.”

Day Two of the Perfect Giveaway/Birthday Bash
Hey everyone! It’s day two of the Perfectgiveaway/birthday bash. Yesterday I focused on Cupid, the little imp. Today it’s my turn, lol. Well, sorta. So, let’s do this…today I’m going to let some of my characters ask ME things… about anything, lol. Should be interesting!
So, come on in and have some cake! Ohhhh, I just love cake. I mean really, it should be its own food group, lol. Dale (The Harvest):Hey M! I’ve always wondered, what’s your middle name?
M: Marie. It’s a family name. The youngest kiddo’s middle name is Marie also. It’s been passed down for a long time. The hubby and I had her name picked even before we had a name for our son, lol. We named him while I was giving birth. *snort* Honest to God, that’s the truth, lol.
Keyno (The Harvest):What did you base my species on?
M: Oh man, lol. Well, contrary to what some think, it wasn’t the Thunder Cats. Actually, I’m a huge scifi fan, and, well, I’d been watching Star Gate: Atlantis. The Ta’Narians are based on the…wraith. *smirk* Bet several of y’all just fell out in a dead faint, huh? LOL. That’s what the Ta’Narians started off as, then feline characteristics took over. But that’s where Keyno’s white hair and eyes came from.
Shawn (Nighttime Wishes):What’s your favorite color? I’m curious because several of your covers have blue in them.
M: *laugh* It just worked out that way. Red is actually my favorite color. Even my car is red.
Bryan (Nighttime Dreams):Ha! Better question than our covers, Shawn, is why tentacles??? Where the hell did that come from, M? Not that I’m complaining, mind you.
M: *blush* I’ve told this before, lol. Y’all’s story came from an anthology I was going to sub for and changed my mind at the last minute. There was just too much for a 20K word limit. Thus, tentacle porn was added to what I’ve written about, lol.
Jason (Shadows in the Night):You made me a cougar shifter. Keyno has cat-like features. Then there is Taz, another alien with cat-like features, but different than Keyno’s. Seems to me you like cats. Am I right?
M: Absolutely, but I’m allergic to them. However, that didn’t keep us from adopting Kitty-Kitty a little over a year ago when he showed up Halloween night, lol. Well, he adopted us. He’s my writing buddy now, and I don’t think I could do without him.
Chip (Shadows in the Night):What’s your favorite holiday?
M: That’s easy: Halloween. When the kids were little, I’d go all out. The whole house was done up. When I worked, I’d dressed up as a black cat too. The kids in my class loved it, lol.
Chaus (Into the Darkness):Speaking of Halloween, do you like vampires more than other creatures? I believe I’m the third vampire you’ve written.
M: *snort* Not at all. I love all my nonhuman guys, lol. It just happens you’re the meanest, lol.
Dale (The Harvest): Come on, M. That picture wasn’t the one you first picked out! Show the one you had originally… you chicken, lol.M: Okay fine! There! *big grin*
Well, after that, how about we save some of the Q&A for tomorrow too. LOL! On to the question!
~The question for today is: I’ve written about a lot of different type of characters that live in a lot of different places. But… where would *you guys* want to live? Under water, the country, the big city, on another planet? Hit me with some places, lol!~
Don’t forget those email addies when answering too! Here’s the blurb and a short excerpt from Perfect...
What happens when a human by the name of Jeff Mayfield inadvertently lays a monster challenge on the God of Love… one that Cupid can’t resist? Jeff is willful, stubborn, and egotistical… and, best of all, doesn’t think love is something he needs in his life.
Can Jeff be… Perfect?

Excerpt:
“So, what is he, or who is he? Cam, I mean.”
Mo took a deep breath. “He wanted to be the one to tell you, Jeff. He’s Cupid, God of Love. He’s had his eye on you since he first saw Randy and Garrett. And no, he didn’t make them fall in love, any more than he made you fall in love. He didn’t use his arrows on any of you. You are his mate, his one true love. And believe me, Zeus isn’t happy with this situation, or with him. He’s not happy with either of us, actually.”
“Zeus…? He’s the… the….”
“God of all the gods.”
Jeff rested his head against the steering wheel. “Okay, right, god of all the gods. Can I say I’m a bit over-fucking-whelmed right now?”
“Now would be as good a time as any.”
Jeff sat back in his seat, rubbing his hands. He hadn’t realized what a tight grip he’d had on the wheel. “So, what has Zeus got up his ass about this?”
Mo frowned. “Up his ass? He’s not gay as far as I know, Jeff. But that’s not to say he hasn’t—”
“Oh my sweet baby Jesus.” Jeff had forgotten that Mo took everything literally. “Why is he not happy with this situation?”
“Ah.” Morpheus snorted. “You’re human. The gods don’t care all that much for humans. Plus, you are not immortal. We are.”
“Shit.”
“Nicely put. There’s more, and this is the hardest. Cupid stands for love, right? That’s what the mythology says, and it’s true. He has arrows that can make people fall in love or fall in hate. But what most humans don’t know is that there are two different sides of Cupid. You saw a bit of the other side earlier.”
“What do you mean?”
“That there is a dark side of love: obsession and jealousy. The other side of Cupid is Jealousy, the green-eyed monster that drives people to do horrible, destructive things. Jeff, I’ve seen Jealousy once, and he’s scary. You have to believe in your love for Cam. You need to keep talking, keep explaining what happened—while I stand guard.”
“Stand guard?”
“Jealousy truly is a monster.”

Sequel to PricelessThe Gods: Book Two
Hey guys! Today is release day for Perfect! I’m running a giveaway from today to the evening of the 25th.
But that’s not all! As some of you may know, the 25this also my birthday. Yes, I’ll be twenty-one… *snort* and then some. Quite a bit some, lol.
I have a post planned for each day, guys. *wink* So make sure to check back *each* day and see what the posts say! The more you comment, the better chance of winning. ;)
So, here’s what’s planned for today. (Oh no, some of you are saying, she’s planningagain!!! LOL.) Priceless, Perfect, and Pure all revolve around the gods walking among us, right? Cupid shows up in Priceless. He sees Randy and Garrett, and well, things get messy, lol. Perfect is his story and, finally, Morpheus’s story is Pure.
Even if you haven’t read any of the series, you can still play along. For today, this is the question to be answered:
Question: Do you believe the gods walk among us humans?
Make sure to leave me an email addy, guys! I can’t send you the PDF copy if I can't find you lol. I’ll email the winner Friday evening and ask they email me back. I do this to make sure I have a correct email addy.
After that, I’ll send the copy out. Please make sure to check your spam/junk folder. Sometimes the email ends up there. If I haven’t heard from the winner I’ll pick a new one come Monday. As usual, I’ll post on here who won, on FB, and on Twitter.
One more thing… I have two blog hops coming in February. So there will be more chances to win Perfect or any of my other eBooks. And if I get something in the mail on time, I may have more surprises. :)

Wednesday Briefs
~Hey guy. Since Perfect comes out on a Wednesday and I’m running stuff for that and my b-day for the next several day, I thought I’d post the flash a day early. Julie’s link will be at the bottom so y’all can use that to hop when the rest of the flashes come out Wednesday.
I really didn’t want to skip this, because frankly, it’s hot right now. And I’m going to keep running it as a flash instead of cutting it off. I think this could turn into something and I want to see where it goes. LOL, because I have no idea right now and you guys comments make me think about plot points. J
Welcome to the Wednesday Briefers flash group. The short stories have a maximum of a 1000 word count plus links at the bottom to the other flashers. The prompts for this week are:
"As time goes by..."
or use a winter theme
or use: snow, peeved, water
or "When did you tell me..."
or use a rainbow in your story
or use a rainbow and a unicorn
or use: handcuffs, silver, basket
I’m using: snow, peeved, water
All That He Desires #5
“Man, I just saw your mom. She was filling out a change of address form. They’re moving, Jules! How strange is that?”
Jules ran his hand over his bare belly, shocked at what he heard. Frowning, he looked down. On his belly were four lines; scratches really. The dream came crashing back as he dropped the cell. “Oh my God.”
He heard Miles crow into the phone. “I know, right? How weird is it that you were just saying you’d wish they move? And here they are—”
Jules snatched the cell back up. Fuck, his hand was shaking like a leaf. “Ah yeah, man. Look, I got to go. I’ll call you back later.”
“But—”
Jules hung up, cutting Miles off, his hand still fiddling with the scratches. Miles probably thought he was peeved since he woke him up, but he couldn’t worry about that right now. No, he had something much bigger to worry over, like that damn dream that was bouncing around in his head. He’d put it down as a nightmare, except the proof something happened was etched across his belly. There was no way he’d scratched himself last night while asleep; his nails were nonexistent.
Shit.
Fear bubbled in his chest, his heart pounded, and his vision wavered. Sweat broke across his forehead and his scalp itched. He jerked his hand back from the scratches. For a moment he thought he’d throw up; spit flooded his mouth. He grabbed the glass of water on the end table by the bed and he drank until the urge passed.
This was crazy, just plain nuts. Things like this happened in the movies or books. He glanced back down. The scratches were still there, they hadn’t miraculously disappeared like he hoped. Kinda hard to argue with that… something had been with him last night.
Oh shit.
As tempting as it was to bury his head in the sand, he didn’t have time to play deny reality right now. Whatever the thing was that visited him last night said it’d be back tonight. Jules ran his other hand through his messy hair while he sat in bed trying to think logically. Logically. He was tempted to laugh hysterically. Logic just flew out the nearest window.
What was he going to do? Find a priest? Perform an exorcism? Join a monastery? Oh wait, he couldn’t have sex if he did that, right? But then again, maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing at the moment. He could run for the hill. Buy a cross? What about a gun? Maybe never fucking sleep again?
Oh fucking shit.
Was it panic time yet? One part of his brain was yelling there was no better time, while the other side said get a grip and think this through. Information was power. Right now he needed all the power he could get, because something intended to pay him a visit tonight.
I’m about to losing my fucking shit.
He bailed out of bed, stumbling across a pair of boxers on the floor and nearly face-planting on the carpet. Could this day get any worse? Don’t go there, Jules. He yanked them on and rushed to the computer sitting on the desk in his bedroom. What was the name his dream—man, thing, creature—used?
“Right, he said he was áimear—one of the dark lords. Okay, that sounds threatening. What the hell is a dark lord? Nothing good, I bet.” Jules booted up his laptop and went searching. It took a while because he kept misspelling the damn word, but he finally ran across something.
Jules scowled at the searches that were pulled up. “It’s Gaelic for opportunity.” Jules yanked at his hair to keep from snarling at the computer. “Deep breath, dude. Just take a deep, deep breath. Throwing the laptop across the room isn’t an option. Okay, this isn’t helping much. Whatever that thing was… it was more than a word, that’s for sure. He felt entirely too flesh-like.”
And had played his body like a violin. “Yeah, so not thinking about that right now.”
Finally he gave up. There was nothing that really applied to his situation. Jules shoved back from the desk, rubbing his neck. Man, he was stiff. His eyes were drawn to the window. It was snowing, and he hadn’t even noticed. Life altering events tended to do that. The landscape looked silent, pure, and so very white… so normal. Generally he loved when it snowed, but right now he wanted to bawl. His life had been turned on its ear, so why didn’t the world reflect that?
Jules stood up. “Need coffee. Everything looks better with caffeine zipping through the ole system.”
Jules stalked to the kitchen and promptly goggled at the clock. He’d been at it for over two hours. No wonder he was stiff. His stomach growled now that he had his head out of the laptop. Everything he knew had been rearranged on him, but hey, his stomach didn’t give a damn. Rolling his eyes, he fixed some cereal, then got dressed.
He had class this afternoon, and then there was Miles. He most likely needed to apologize to his best friend for hanging up on him. He had to be pretty pissed since he hadn’t called back or shown up. But then again, maybe it was better Miles stayed far, far away from him. But the way his luck was running Miles would show up right of the heels of that… thing.
Jules sighed. He couldn’t risk that. And it alarmed him to no end that he accepted this was all real and happening. Just one more thing to handle before the big reveal tonight, but at least this little job made sense. Nothing else did at this point.
What was he going to do?

Dreamspinner Spins Me A Dream
OMG, I have wonderful news! I signed the contract Sunday night with DsP for Shadows in the Night. The release date is July/August. Guys, this will be put out in eBook *and* in print… OMG, in print! *Squeeeee* I can’t tell you how excited I am about this, lol. I screamed so loud when I got the email I scared Kitty-Kitty and the hubby.
This is one of the books I wanted to take to GRL this October, and I hope The Harvest: Taken(book 1) will be the other. I’m giddy, lol. This is something I can actually hold in my hand!
So, as of now I have something come from DsP May/June, June/July, and now July/August. What’s below isn’t the blurb or the excerpt DsP will probably use, but this way you guys will get a feel for the story.
I have to say, this week is looking to be a very good week, lol. ;) Don't forget Perfect will be released by DsP on the 23rd. I'll do a giveaway for that. Plus, the 25th is my birthday, so I'm making this release a birthday bash kinda thing, lol.
Shadows in the Night
Can love and trust take root in soil strewn with half-truths and secrets? As a young child, Chip Riley is ignored and neglected by his wealthy parents. Summers and vacations are spent with his granny, Eva, in a small picturesque town. But there are things he’s not told—like his granny’s gift of sight and the secrets that revolve around the Native American culture…which are withheld from him by the one person he trusts most—his granny. Time marches on and his Granny passes away, leaving Chip her money, home, land… and an Native American shifter that intends to claim Chip as his mate.
Jason Sky has lived since the land was free and buffalo roamed the land. Part of the Original Children of Wha-tay, Jason has watched as some of The Children left the Original Tribe and spread out across the land, thus starting many of the Indian Nations there are today.Little does Jason know that one act of faith, done long ago, will bring him to his mate—a modern man with modern ideas.
But Jason isn’t the only one that has taken note of Jason’s good fortune. There is another that has taken notice, another shifter from Jason’s past that harbors a deep hate.
Chip finds myth is reality, history isn’t what’s been taught in school, and a man who loves him more than life itself.
~~~
“Dammit, I should’ve stopped by the grocery store while I was in town.”
There was plenty to eat in the kitchen, but none of the things he liked… fast and easy. Taking a quick shower he dressed and, grabbing his keys, walked outside. The late evening sky reminded Chip of a healing bruise—dark angry blues, violent purples, and sickly greens. Clearly it was going to storm tonight, and from the looks of the sky, it was going to be bad.
“Lord, let me get back before this breaks loose.” Chip backed up, and as he turned his truck around, his lights flashed across an animal at the edge of the woods. Eyes stared at him, then disappeared.
“Huh, wonder what that was? Deer, maybe?” He drove down the gravel driveway to the main road, eyes searching. Last thing he needed was to hit a damn animal.
* * * *
A silhouette moved closer to the house. Greenish-yellow eyes tracked the taillights of the truck until they were gone from sight. A nimble leap, and the creature padded across the front porch. His sensitive nose picked up the new scent of the human male.
Hmm, from the looks of the work he’s done, he plans on staying. Good.
The creature huffed fondly. The young boy had grown into a man and had a lithe, graceful body. His hair, no longer the bright red it had once been, had darkened through the years. A bolt of lightning raced across the evening sky, catching his attention. He glanced up at the darkening skies and frowned.
Hope he hurries. This storm’s going to be bad.
He nosed around a bit more, taking note of the outside improvements Chip had done. The front of the house looked good, but one thing was missing. With a twitch of his tail, he backed up to the pillar on the front porch and marked his territory, loudly proclaiming his intent.
This human was his.
Six Sentence Sunday - 1-20-13
Hey guys! I haven’t done Six Sentence Sunday in a while. This is taken from book #2 in The Gods series, Perfect, which will be released from Dreamspinner Jan 23rd.
Cupid’s on a mission. He’s found his mate, a human called Jeff. Now all that’s left is to claim him. But there’s a problem… in his god form Cupid looks very, very young and he knows the one he wants won’t even look at him as long as he looks like a kid. And that’s not the only problem facing him. There’s the little issue of his alter ego, Jealousy. Then there’s Jeff’s belief that love isn’t for him. Plus, the Hags of Fate keep interfering, albeit indirectly. And oh yeah, there’s Zeus, who isn’t happy with the choice Cupid has made as his mate.
Problems? LOL, oh you bet. For more of Six Sentence Sunday, go here!
~M
Cupid shivered. He planned to assault every sense Jeff owned. He intended to light a fire in Jeff, nurse those eager little flames along until they exploded into a full-fledged inferno, and then… make him wait.“And I will wait, no matter how much I want it.”
Jeff needed to understand there was such a thing as love—that there were risks involved, but that they were worth it. There were the pleasures of the flesh, and there were the pleasures of the heart.
Merry Christmas, Shelton by Dianne Hartsock
http://www.breathlesspress.com/index.php?main_page=product_free_shipping_info&cPath=10&products_id=402
Blurb:
Can Shelton and Nevil overcome the obstacles of a blizzard, a baby, and one hot redhead and find their way to a merry Christmas?
Shelton and Nevil have rented a cozy cabin in the mountains in which to spend the Christmas holiday. Tree is lit. Presents sparkle. Shelton anticipates a very merry Christmas indeed. But then a blizzard springs up, landing a sexy redhead on their doorstep looking like trouble in a pretty package.
Tommy brings a message for Nevil, but when he first hits on Shelton in the shower, then offers to drive Nevil to his sister's side while she has her baby, Shelton begins to wonder just how this mixed up Christmas is going to end.
Excerpt:
Shelton woke from a sound sleep, disoriented by a pounding on the door. He untangled from Nevil and sat up, heart racing. A glance at the clock showed it was barely three o'clock in the morning. What the hell?The pounding resumed and he scrambled to his feet, taking a second to slip on sweat pants before unlocking the door. The wind had died down and Shelton blinked at the snow piled up against the cabin walls. A slight figure huddled on the step, illuminated by the porch light, and without hesitation Shelton drew him into the warmth of the room, closing the door on the bitter night.
"What's happened?"
Shelton jumped a little at Nevil's voice and blinked as the light went on overhead. There was a gasp from the bundle under his hand and he searched the pale face the young man raised. The pretty blue eyes weren't looking at him and he followed his gaze to where his lover stood in all his naked splendor. Nevil scowled at their interest and pulled on the cotton pajama bottoms he'd picked up.
Shelton gave the boy a slight shake, knocking snow off his jacket and cap. "God, you're soaked through! You need to get out of those clothes. Nevil, can you stir up the fire?"
"Of course."
As if knowing his danger, the young man stripped off his coat and sopping shirt while Shelton unlaced his boots and carefully slipped them off, leaving the socks for now. Ski pants and under armor were lowered and the young man leaned a hand on Shelton's shoulder as he stepped out of them. Shelton glanced up and found himself on eye level with a pair of dark boxers that did little to cover the treasures beneath. His gaze swept up a tight stomach and muscular chest and clashed with laughing eyes. Trouble!
He cleared his throat. "Come to the fire and I'll check for frostbite."
The young man followed him, lifting the cap off a shock of copper hair. He sat on the quilts and Nevil draped one over his shoulders while Shelton knelt beside him. "Hands first," he said and slid the wet gloves by careful inches off his hands. The skin felt cold and white, but the fingertips weren't blue. "Can you move them?"
He looked up when the young man didn't answer and met his puzzled gaze. "You're really concerned, aren't you?"
The man sounded slightly amused and Shelton felt the blush in his cheeks as he answered, "Yes. I saw a boy with frostbite last winter, in Colorado. It was...painful to witness. Let's check those toes."
He removed the damp socks with the same care as the gloves, and sighed in relief when the boy wiggled each toe. Nevil snorted from where he leaned against the mantle watching the proceedings. "Now that we know nothing is going to fall off, can you tell us what the hell you're doing here?"
"Tera Shaw left a message for you at the lodge." He smirked when Nevil straightened, tense. "I volunteered to bring it. She says she's fine, but that they're admitting her to the hospital in the morning. She'd like you to be there as soon as you can."
"I'll go immediately."
"No, sir. The snow's not too bad at the lodge, but worse up here. We'll have to wait for the snowplow to get your car out."
Nevil paced the room, cursing under his breath. Shelton heard the young man's breath quicken as he watched the lithe movements of the sleek body, and frowned. "What's your name?" he asked as a distraction. "Tommy."
Of course it was. A cute name for a pretty face and sexy, youthful body.Damn.
"Well, Tommy, thanks for risking your neck for us. Why don't you get some sleep here by the fire?" Shelton climbed stiffly to his feet and went to Nevil's side. "Come to bed, honey." Nevil grunted and Shelton slid an arm around his waist. "Try to sleep, at least a little. It's going to be a long day tomorrow."
Nevil relaxed against him. "You're right." He allowed Shelton to lead him to their room, and paused in the doorway to glance back at Tommy. "Thanks, man."
"My pleasure," Tommy said with a purr.
Shelton's lips thinned at the interest in the young man's gaze and tugged Nevil into the room, purposefully closing the door. He pushed his lover on the bed, cuddled up to him under the blankets, and held him close until they slept.
Wednesday Briefs
Welcome to the Wednesday Briefers flash group. The short stories have a maximum of a 1000 word count plus links at the bottom to the other flashers. The prompts for this week are:
"Home is where the heart is"
or use: gravy, baby, lines
or "Fiddle-de-dee!"
or use a fertile plain in your story or a savage jungle
or "Oh my goodness, you look good enough to..."
I’m using gravy, baby, lines.
All That He Desires #4
“You just never know, Jules. Stranger things have happened. Look at you.”
“Yeah, look at me,” Jules said, sipping his drink. Miles didn’t know the half of it.
The pizza half way to his mouth, Miles stopped and frowned at Jules. “You okay? You kinda had a weird look going on there.”
Jules shrugged, carefully blanking his face. “Yeah, it’s all gravy.”
Well, except for the dreams he’d been having lately… strange, erotic dreams that left him breathless and wrung out by morning. And slightly creeped out. There was something not quite right about the man in his dreams, and it was always the same man, he was sure of that.
The guy demanded Jules ask for what he wanted, and somehow he knew doing that was dangerous. His dream man owned his body and... he didn’t want to finish that thought. He wished the damn dreams would just end. They were affecting him. He was tired, irritable, and… he yearned for more. He just didn’t know what he yearned for.
Shrugging off the thoughts, he turned his attention back to Miles. They spent several more hours playing video games before Miles went home. Jules wandered around his apartment for a while, restless, before finally taking an over-the-counter sleep aid. Thank goodness he had a late class tomorrow. One way or the other, he planned to sleep like a baby tonight.
* * * *
“Oh, little one, surely you didn’t think some pill would keep me from you?”
Smoke swirled, moving faster and faster in a whirlwind of motion, until it condensed… a body forming from the writhing, shifting mass. Plain black leather pants and a white, loose poet shirt graced his tall figure. Half boots completed the simple outfit, one he didn’t plan to have on for long.
Lifting the sheet, he peered at the body flung across the bed. Jules was naked, thank the gods, and Anslee smiled. Perfect. He pulled the sheet back, exposing the sleep-warmed body. Chanting softly, he whispered the spell that would guarantee Jules stayed asleep, but be aware of all that happened to him—at least subconsciously.
With a flick of his wrist, Anslee’s clothes disappeared and he knelt on the bed, one hand trailing over Jules’ calf, and sighed happily. The human was small of stature, but toned. His chosen one complained about being five-nine, but Anslee liked smaller men. He ran his hand higher up Jules’ leg, admiring the figure on the bed. Fair of skin and light colored hair… what humans today called a dirty blond.
Soft, light-colored hair covered his arms and legs, and a small patch of slightly darker blond hair at the base of a nice-sized dick drew his eye as Jules rolled onto his back, a moan already forming on his lips. Pleased with the reaction, he kept his touch light. Bleary hazel eyes opened to stare up at him.
“Oh God, not again.”
“Why do you fight me so, little one? I only want to give you pleasure.” Anslee’s hand feathered over a knee, moving slowly upward. The human’s body tightened with desire—a desire he fought tooth and nail every time.
“Y-you want it all—everything from me.” Jules shifted on the bed, helpless to keep his legs from opening, offering a more private treasure.
Anslee’s fingers blazed a path up Jules’ leg, barely stopping short of the main goal as Jules arched on the bed, wordlessly offering the prize Anslee sought.
“Of course I do, little one. And you will give me all too.” Anslee let his nails scrape over Jules’ stomach, keeping far away from the dick that wept pre-come on Jules’ belly. The smell of this human’s desire made him hunger. “Tell me what you want.”
“Why must I always—” Jules tossed his head back and forth. “Oh God, oh God… touch me.”
Anslee’s fingers stalked up Jules’ chest, moving in on hard nubs that stood proudly. “Touch you? Where?”
“M-my… cock. Stroke me. I want… put your hands on me, dammit.”
Anslee settled by Jules and grasped the cock that begged for his attention. Such warmth and heat incased in steel, but soft to the touch. So lovely; how he wanted to tasted, but the human had to ask first… always. There were rules, after all.
“Ask…” Anslee leaned closer, his breath a warm kiss across heated flesh.
“Oh fuck! Why do I always have to…?” Jules gripped the sheets on the bed. “Please, just please, suck it. Just touch me, give me what I want… please.”
“What you need, little one… and I will, once you stop fighting me.”
“I-I can’t help it!” Jules reached a hand out and touched flesh…. touched flesh! Alarm filled him and again the feeling of… something wrong assaulted him. Was it possible these weren’t dreams? “What are you?”
“Ah, finally you ask.” Anslee kissed the tip of Jules cock, then leaned closer. “I am áimear—one of the dark lords. The time has come, Jules. Tomorrow night I’ll come to you in person; no more games.”
“But…”
* * * *
The ringing of his cell woke Jules as the image of shoulder-length dark hair back and green eyes faded away. He snatched his cell off his night table. “What, dammit?”
“Dude! I was just at the post office and guess what I saw?”
“Stamps?” Jules snarled into the phone. “Fuck, Miles, how should I know? I’m in bed, remember? Why the hell are you calling me—?”
“Man, I just saw your mom. She was filling out a change of address form. They’re moving, Jules! How strange is that?”
Jules ran his hand over his bare belly, shocked at what he heard. Frowning, he looked down. On his belly were four lines; scratches really. The dream came crashing back as he dropped the cell. “Oh my God.”
Don’t forget to visit the other briefers!
Okay, I know a few of you are heading right to google, lol. The word áimear is Gaelic for opportunity. This… I’m not sure what he is yet… is something totally made up by yours truly, lol. He’s not really good, not really bad… but he will present an opportunity, and if you take it… ;)
And yes, wishes do come into play, so we have a bit of a genie vibe going. And how Anslee feeds will remind you of another creature too. So bear with me as I mix myth with my imagination, lol.
Finding love in a new town had not been in Seb's plans. But life has a tendency to throw you curveballs – like Ruari.
When the new head teacher walks into his bar, Ruari knows he has to have him, and damn the consequences. When lust turns to love, nothing else matters. Together they will overcome, no matter what. Or will circumstances drive them apart?
Excerpt
Ruari's head was spinning, his arms were stiff, his cock ached, and he wanted to be alone with Seb. It seemed like hours, but was probably no more than forty-five minutes, before he judged they could leave his bar staff to finish off. He swung behind the bar, grabbed a surprised Seb, and kissed him full on the lips. Cheers and catcalls sounded from the people around the bar.
"You." He finished off with a squeeze to Seb's ass, "are a fucking star. Definitely, a fucking star."
"Too much info, boss." Dave was smirking at him.
Oh fucking shit. He realized where he was. Bollocks and buggery and any other appropriate epithets. How the hell was he going to sort this monumental cock-up out? He chanced a look at Seb's expression, and sighed inwardly with relief. Seb was laughing.
"Feet. Mouth into?" Seb asked him.
He nodded. "As Ever. Okay we're finished here. Coffee?"
Seb nodded. Kizzy, who had walked up to them unnoticed made a face, and sniggered. "That is the most pathetic euphemism I've heard boss. Coffee. Hah!" She carried on past them, still sniggering.
"Gotcha there, Boss." Dave patted him on the back. "Take yourself off for er coffee. Don't forget the Swiss roll with it."
"Hells bells." Ruari almost pushed Seb through the door and into the stairwell of his flat. "Are you sure you still want to take a chance on me. I shouldn't be let out without a keeper. And my lips sealed."
Seb pulled him tightly towards his body. Cock found cock and reacted in the best possible way. "Oh, you're not reneging now, boss man." Seb moved so his cock surged upwards. "All that is so easily arranged."
"Huh?" He was so caught up in the sensations of Seb hard against him, he'd lost the thread of the conversation.
"Lips sealed and a keeper. I'll be happy to be in change of all that. Soon." Seb said.
"Okay, so, first we have coffee?"
Seb smiled and squeezed Ruari's arm. "Coffee, where's your car?"
