Elisabeth Zöller wurde in Brilon geboren. Sie studierte Deutsch, Französisch, Kunstgeschichte und Pädagogik in München, Lausanne und Münster.

Schon als Kind wollte sie Schriftstellerin werden, doch zunächst wurde sie Lehrerin. Auch in diesem Beruf ging es um Texte, die sie mit ihren Schülern lesen, entwerfen, kreativ gestalten konnte – und natürlich um die Kinder. Mit ihrem Einfühlungsvermögen und ihrem Engagement konnte sie ihre eigene Begeisterung für das geschriebene Wort an ihre Schüler weitergeben.

Obwohl ihr diese Arbeit viel Freude machte, verließ sie 1989 die Schule, um sich ihren Traum Schriftstellerin zu sein, endlich zu erfüllen. Sie lebt heute in Hannover.
