The Next Feathered Book

Perhaps I shouldn't write in green pen?

BRAINSTORMING IDEAS – Perhaps I shouldn’t write in green pen?

Since Feathered Lover was published last month, I’ve been wracking my brain over what story to write next.

I always said that if there was enough interest in Feathered that I’d love to write a sequel and explore Zan’s world further. But I can’t wait — I want to write it, right now. :)

So that’s what I’m doing. The ideas keep coming too, and I’ve got an idea for a possible third book as well.

I’ve started brainstorming story ideas and wr...

The Feathered Lover is Now Available

The Feathered Lover is LIVE – YAY!!

It’s now up at Amazon & Kobo.

It shouldalsobe live at Apple iTunes and Barnes & Noble in a few weeks (I can’t go direct with them, so it takes longer).

Of course now I’m having author jitters. Is it good enough? What if I uploaded the wrong file? Perhaps there isn’t enough sex in it? Does any one care? *writerly angst*

I think I’ll take a nap, so I can start breathing again.

Hope you like it!

The Feathered Lover (probably) Will Be Published At The End Of This Month

1409481_feather_1

The Feathered Lover by Tabitha Levin. Due March 2013.

I’ve finished the third (and hopefully final) draft and now the manuscript has been sent to my copy editor. She fixes up all my sloppy grammar and typos so I can publish a clean book for you. ;)

I can probably tell you a bit more about it now.The working title is The Feathered Lover.

I haven’t written a blurb yet, but a quick summary:

Set in 1943. Ruby Kelly spies three men who have captured one of the illegal Volante (men with wings). Unable t...

The Novel Has Started Second Draft Stage

second-draftThe romance novel that I started in November, is now ready to enter second draft stage. That means I get to go through all the raw and wonderful (and not so wonderful) words that I wrote and shape them into something resembling a book.

I like this stage because you begin to see how good your story can be. Sure there will still be scenes I need to cut, more scenes I need to write, and others I’ll be scratching my head over wondering what on earth I can do to fix it, but overall I find this part...

NaNoWriMo – And We Are Done

November was a busy month for me, tippety typing a novel in just 30 days. Well to be honest, it was typing 50,000 words in 30 days, which I did. A novel – I don’t exactly have yet.

It was a fun experience, and I’m glad to have participated (and won) the month, but my novel still needs quite a bit more work (and words) before I can publish for all the world to see.

My goal is to start fixing it up in January and have it to my editor by mid February (or earlier if I can managed it.) If all goes w...

Can You Write An Erotic Romance Without The ‘F’ Word?

I’m 5% into the first draft of my novel, and already it’s shaping up to be something exciting. I’m having some real fun writing it and getting to know the characters.

But one thing I’ve started to wonder is, can I write a novel with explicit sex, without using the ‘f’ word?

Of course as a writer I can do anything I want to, and so for this novel I’ve decided that it just doesn’t fit and therefore won’t be included anywhere (I don’t think – I could always change my mind).

There is already much mo...

Creating a Sexy Male Love Interest

When it comes to creating a hot male love interest for my female protagonists, I usually create characters that I’m personally attracted to. Of course, I find different qualities in different men attractive, which means that not every character is going to be the same.

Sometimes I find a man who is sweet and gentle endearing, and other times someone who is more confident and dominant is hot. So thinking about my current main male character (who I have yet to find a good name for) I wanted to m...

Outlining for NaNoWriMo

For those non writers that read this blog, NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel Writing Month. It happens for the whole of November and participants compete to write a 50,000 word novel within the 30 days.

I’ve just started outlining the novel I’ll be writing for it now and for those that are interested in my process, I thought I’d share what I’m doing.

I generally write my novels and stories, in a three act structure.

The first act is setting up the scene and characters and is what I call my ‘...

Tabitha Will Stick With Erotic Romance For Now

I’ve been thinking a lot about pen names lately. Originally I was going to put everything I write under Tabitha’s name, including the new novel that I’m writing, but I’ve had second thoughts on this.

The Desperately Delicious series is doing better than I expected and the Urban Darkness series is doing worse than I expected. And so for that reason, I think I’ll continue to write only erotic romance (and perhaps some not so streamy romance down the track) under this name, and create a new pen n...

September Sale!

I like September.

Here in Australia it’s the first month of Spring, (which is my favorite season), and the weather is warming up to be a beautiful sunny day today.

So what better way to celebrate than with a September sale.

This month I have reduced all my ebook short stories to 0.99 cents and the collections to $2.99. They’ll be that price for the whole of September.

Yah, Spring!

P.S. Some stores are slower to update prices than others. Amazon already has the updated prices, but none of the other...
