First non-fiction book aimed at empowering the masses (the 99%) with essential knowledge

Our first non-fiction book, THE ORPHAN CONSPIRACIES: 29 Conspiracy Theories from The Orphan Trilogy, was borne out of reader curiosity for it was not something we ever intended to write. Nor was a non-fiction work something we would have naturally considered penning given we are novelists and feature filmmakers who specialize in writing and producing drama and works of fiction.

However, when The Ninth Orphan, the first book in our international thriller series The Orphan Trilogy, was published readers began commenting on or asking about the truth behind the real-life mysteries highlighted throughout. Since then, readers’ emails and social media posts have escalated with the publication of The Orphan Factory and The Orphan Uprising, books two and three in the trilogy.

For those who haven’t read the novels, The Orphan Trilogy is a series that’s partially set in the boardrooms of real organizations such as the CIA, MI6, the FBI, the NSA and the UN; it features controversial theories about public figures, including President Obama, Queen Elizabeth II as well as the Clinton, Marcos and Bush families; and it illuminates shadow organizations rumored to exist in today’s world. In many ways, the trilogy merges fiction with reality.

This book (The Orphan Conspiracies) bridges the gap between fiction and fact. It fully explores the real-world suppositions, assumptions and theories we included in our fictional universe and provides answers to the questions our readers have been asking.

The storyline of The Orphan Trilogy, which took about a decade to write, forced us to research all sorts of alternative concepts and seek out connected and learned individuals who could enlighten us. This comprehensive process not only enabled us to tell a layered and intelligent story, but also to acquire underground knowledge not easily accessible. Knowledge which we share, in depth, in this new book and which upon reading we expect will enable, indeed encourage, the average reader to look at the world in a new light.

As two working-class guys, we know all about the injustices that come with being humble citizens living in so-called democratic nations where democracy has all but vanished. We are tired of seeing honest, hard-working people being screwed over by greedy, corrupt corporations and are incensed by the spineless political leaders who permit them to commit such crimes.

Our mission in writing The Orphan Conspiracies was twofold: to expose the global agenda designed to keep the power in the hands of a select few (the top 1%) and to empower the masses with essential knowledge that’s been withheld from them until now.

This book is written for the lower classes and the homeless, the outcasts and the marginalized, the abused and the victimized, the unpaid and the underpaid, the overworked and the out-of-work, the refugees and the poor, the uneducated and the undereducated, the forgotten and the lonely, the misunderstood and all the other underdogs of society who together, collectively, form the majority – or the 99%, if you will.

Contrary to what we, the people, have been told, we are the power; we have supreme authority because we are the masses and true power always resides with the masses, never with the global elite who, by their very nature, have always been a vulnerable minority and will always continue to be…

As long as the masses realize that, of course.

American and Allied POWs among those used as human guinea pigs at Unit 731 – the Japanese Auschwitz

In our latest book we devote an entire chapter to a post-World War Two program known as Project Paperclip, a nefarious undertaking which involved secreting Nazi scientists – some of them known war criminals – into America to provide much needed scientific expertise.

Our research showed direct, proven links between some of the war criminals and Nazi concentration camps – Auschwitz and Dachau included. Interestingly, our research revealed another post-WW2 program remarkably similar to Project Paperclip, this one involving Japanese scientists and war criminals rather than the Nazis. The US was a key player in this program, too.

The Japanese program involved a ghastly human experimentation project at the infamous Unit 731, an isolated Japanese Biological Warfare research facility located in what was then Manchuria, a Japanese puppet state, but is now Northeast China. It’s worth studying to better understand why Western superpowers protected known war criminals – Nazi and Japanese – throughout the mid-late 20th Century.

Unit 731 Japanese Biological Warfare research facility.

For an insight into what went on at Unit 731, here’s an excerpt from our book, THE ORPHAN CONSPIRACIES: 29 Conspiracy Theories from The Orphan Trilogy:

The experimentation project was the brainchild of the notoriously cruel General Shirō Ishii, a scientist who was effectively Japan’s equivalent of Dr. Joseph Mengele.

File:Shiro-ishii.jpg

General Shirō Ishii…Commander of Unit 731.

Researchers at Unit 731, which facilitated secret biological and chemical warfare research, mainly used captured Chinese and Russian subjects for their horrific medical experiments. However, their human guinea pigs also included American, Australian, New Zealand and British prisoners of war.

General Ishii’s medical testing at the secret Manchurian facility included high-voltage electric shock experiments, cyanide poisonings, frostbite studies, biological weapons testing including anthrax, heroin and other drug tests, and injecting prisoners with bacteria from plague-infected fleas procured from mice; live dissections on prisoners were also common and the victims were not even given any painkillers while their bodies were slowly dissected.

Victims of Unit 731.

The prisoners were referred to as “monkeys” in scientific papers, even though it was common knowledge amongst the Japanese military and in political circles that the test subjects were in fact humans. Tens of thousands of victims died at Unit 731 and its sister sites.

Although less widely reported than Mengele’s medical research at Auschwitz, many historians have compared the hideous medical experiments at Unit 731 to the Nazi medical experiments during the Holocaust.

Japanese soldiers stationed at Unit 731.

Parallels with Project Paperclip are numerous. Declassified documents have revealed that after the war ended, large-scale collaboration occurred between America and scientists of Unit 731. What’s more, the insidious Japanese research became the basis for many US military operations – and like the Nazi scientists protected by Project Paperclip, many of Unit 731’s scientists went on to have prominent careers after the war.

Just as the Nazis had made incredible scientific breakthroughs during the war years, it appears Japan was another scientific giant of the era. Germany and Japan obviously got the jump on the rest of the world in the area of medical research by being able to ruthlessly experiment on as many human subjects as they wanted. And this informative and valuable research was desired by both the US and the Soviet Union at the start of the Cold War.

Japan’s scientific breakthroughs most likely explain why General Ishii and all the other Japanese scientists involved in Unit 731 were never tried for war crimes by the US or by any other Allied nation.

A US intelligence cable advised the War Department that the Japanese scientists, “headed by Ishii did violate rules of land warfare,” but that “this expression of opinion is not a recommendation that group be charged and tried as such.”

Further evidence of the United States’ intentions is evidenced by the actions of General Douglas MacArthur. While serving as Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, MacArthur wrote to Washington DC on May 6, 1947 as follows: “Statements from Ishii probably can be obtained by informing Japanese involved that information will be retained in intelligence channels and will not be employed as ‘War Crimes’ evidence.”

General Douglas MacArthur…orchestrated a deal.

The following year, in exchange for all their biological warfare research, MacArthur orchestrated a deal with the scientists of Unit 731, including General Ishii, whereby they were secretly granted complete immunity from prosecution. Claims of the horrors Allied POW’s endured at the hands of their Japanese captors were from that point on ignored, and the ensuing Tokyo War Crimes trials omitted reference to Ishii and his staff.

File:IMTFE defendants.jpg

Japanese war crimes trial defendants…those involved with Unit 731 conspicuous by their absence.

In the decades immediately after the war ended, the Japanese and American governments continuously denied any conspiracy surrounding the legacy of Unit 731.

However, another file from General MacArthur’s headquarters confirms the ugly truth. In it, MacArthur states that in studying General Ishii’s work, “utmost secrecy is essential in order to protect the interests of the United States and to guard against embarrassment”.

Like the US, the Soviets also appear to have secured some of the Japanese scientists’ human experimentation research, for after WW2 a biological weapons facility was built in Sverdlovsk, in the Soviet Union. The Sverdlovsk facility and practices within it are said to have been almost a carbon copy of what was detailed in Unit 731 documents.

Many conspiracy theorists as well as a number of biological weapons researchers claim the US military secretly began testing germ warfare on American citizens without their knowledge. These tests, which were apparently conducted from the 1950’s onwards, are said by some to be based on the science of Unit 731, and include tests still classified by the CIA and the US Army’s Chemical and Biological Warfare laboratories.

The suspicion lingers that many of the US military’s covert biological warfare operations since WW2, including the Vietnam War’s Operation Ranch Hand, may be related to Unit 731 – and Gulf War Syndrome could also be the result of biological warfare directly inspired by General Ishii’s germ warfare experiments.

If by chance Chemtrails – that favorite Tinfoil Hat theory which suggests governments release chemical agents into the skies above populated areas – is one day proven to be a reality, then the Japanese experiments could also be the basis for these as well.

Along with Yamashita’s Gold and Project Paperclip, Unit 731 and its aftermath – including America’s involvement – remained one of the best kept secrets of the post war era. The public finally learned about this dreadful secret in 1993 when then US Defense Secretary William Perry finally declassified army and intelligence records relating to the Japanese human experimentation during WW2.

William Perry 1993.jpg

Defense Secretary Perry finally spilled the beans about Unit 731.

FILM FIJI CONFIRMS ITS SUPPORT FOR ‘FIJI’ THE MOVIE – expressions of interest welcome from experienced producers

Fiji

Suva-based Film Fiji has confirmed in writing its commitment to support Morcan Motion Pictures in our efforts to adapt our historical adventure novel Fiji and develop it as a feature film. We welcome enquires from experienced producers interested in spearheading this production.

Fiji A Novel cover image

Set in 19th Century Fiji, the film will be based on our book Fiji: A Novel (The World Duology, #2), a spellbinding tale of adventure, cultural misunderstandings, religious conflict and sexual tension in one of the most exotic and isolated places on earth.

Since its publication as a trade paperback and Kindle ebook by New Zealand publisher Sterling Gate Books in 2011, Fiji has been a regular visitor to Amazon’s bestseller lists. With the strong themes of love running through what is essentially a fast-moving and sometimes violent adventure story, it appeals equally to males and females.

In June 2014, Fiji was selected by the prestigious international travel site TravelersToday.com as one of the ‘Top 10 Books to Read While Traveling’ –http://www.travelerstoday.com/articles/9566/20140421/books-read-traveling-top-10-location-history-based-travelers.htm

Fiji: A Novel (The World Duology, #2) is available via Amazon as a trade paperback or Kindle ebook: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0057YCZM0/

The storyline:

In the mid-1800’s, Fiji was a melting pot of cannibals, warring native tribes, sailors, traders, prostitutes, escaped convicts and all manner of foreign undesirables. It’s in this hostile environment that an innocent young Englishwoman and a worldly American adventurer find themselves. Despite their differences, there’s an undeniable chemistry between them. When their lives are suddenly endangered by marauding cannibals, they are forced to rely on each other for their very survival.

Book reviews:

Amazon reviewers have resonated with Fiji: A Novel. Here’s a sample of reviews:

★★★★★ “Once I got into it, I was hooked.” -The Kindle Book Review

★★★★★ “I finished this book a week ago, and the memory of Susannah and Nathan’s experiences in Fiji are still fresh in my mind. If you’re a fan of adventure, history, even romance, you’ll want to pick up a copy of Fiji: A Novel and brace yourself for the ride. It’s an intense story that will have you turning the pages long into the night.” -Susan M. Heim, author and editor of the bestselling ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ series.

★★★★★ “A new voice in historical romance.” -Beverly J.Rowe

★★★★★ “As a Fijian, I find the old traditions of our people fascinating and just as great as they are crude and gruesome. The novel touches on most of these now extinct practices, in mad detail and it’s AWESOME! … Racial prejudice, religion, culture and family were the underlying messages … The adventure, fast-paced and nail biting … The romance, sizzling, exciting, forbidden … I give it 5 stars because that’s the maximum amount of stars we’re allowed to give.” -Random Writings Book Reviews (Suva, Fiji).

★★★★★ “A bit of everything – sex, violence, humor, historic detail & plenty of twists.” –‘Great Historicals’

Fiji film adaptation:

We wrote the novel and hold the film rights, and we have put Fiji into development through our production company Morcan Motion Pictures. Our producing role will likely be Executive Producers or similar with more experienced producers spearheading the production.

We plan to write a first draft screenplay adaptation of Fiji. This will be done under the director’s guidance according to his or her vision for the film. Meanwhile, the novel remains the best representation of the story. Obviously, a honed screenplay will be required before approaching any of the major studios.

Tagline:

In Fiji all things are paid in blood.

Genres:

Historical | Action-Adventure | Romance

Budget:

US$25 million.

IMDbPro listing:

https://pro-labs.imdb.com/title/tt1277129/?ref_=sch_int

Director:

To be confirmed. (Will be an A-List director with an impressive track record and with experience in studio features).

The shoot:

Eight weeks for Principal Photography.

Shooting locations:

Viti Levu, Fiji

Levuka, Ovalau Island, Fiji

Cast to be confirmed:

These actors are likely candidates for the following roles:

Nathan Johnson - Leonardo DiCaprio, Liam Hemsworth, Matt Damon, Channing Tatum

Susannah Drake - Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightley, Kate Beckinsale

Brian Drake - Sam Neill, Tom Wilkinson, Brian Cox, Russell Crowe

Joeli - Cliff Curtis (Once Were Warriors)

Most of the other roles will be played by indigenous Fijian actors.

Projected Box Office Returns:

With a reasonable US$25M budget, Fiji the film has strong worldwide commercial potential. This feature is very much designed for a mainstream release and is in no way an arthouse or niche film.

Comparing similar period films in terms of themes and/or budgets – including The Passion, Dances with Wolves, Braveheart, Apocalypto, Last of the Mohicans – projected Box Office returns for Fiji have been estimated at US$208M. (This figure is for worldwide theatrical sales only and does not include DVD/TV sales).

Executive summary:

The uniqueness of Fiji the feature film will give it every chance of success. There have been very few films set in Fiji – Tom Hanks’ Cast Away and Vince Vaughn’s Couples Retreat being two notable recent exceptions.

Major tax exemptions and rebates are offered to foreign filmmakers filming in Fiji. (See below).

It’s our intention to approach the Fijian Tourism Board to ask them to consider advertising in conjunction with the film’s release – just as the Australian Tourism Board got behind the Nicole Kidman/Hugh Jackman movie Australia.

Because the film’s title is also the name of a country, there is a commercial opportunity to work in with the Fijian Government and thereby increase awareness of the film as well as Fiji as a destination. Working in with the Fijian Tourism Board, there is the potential for various promotions. (e.g. Everybody who buys a ticket to the movie is entered into a draw to win a trip to Fiji). This could be advertised on movie posters as well as the front cover of Fiji: A Novel. Obviously, basing a film on a bestselling novel provides added value.

Fiji tax exemptions and rebates for filmmakers

There are four main streams of audiovisual tax incentives offered by the Fiji Government and administered by Film Fiji in collaboration with the Fiji Revenue & Customs Authority (FRCA). These are detailed in the Sixth Schedule of the Income Tax Act as amended (‘Sixth Schedule’) which is available for download.

Briefly, the film incentives are as follows:

Film Making Incentives

The Film Making Incentive- Part II of the 6th Schedule of the Income Tax Act- is available to non-resident film companies only. The film company applies to Film Fiji for a reduced rate or total exemption of tax on the income of its employees who a non-residents and who are in Fiji for the purpose of conducting a film or television production.

F1 and F2 Incentives

The F1/F2 Incentive are two streams of the same incentive. Both streams allow you (as a producer) to raise half of your production budget from Fiji investors. The Fiji Government incentivizes Fiji investors to invest in half (i.e. 46.5%) of the production budget for your film by offering them a tax deduction of 150 percent (for F1 Incentive) or 125 percent (for F2 Incentive). To qualify for F1, at least 50 percent of the running time of the end product film must show Fiji as Fiji. For F2, there is no requirement to show Fiji as Fiji.

The Film Tax Rebate

Film Tax Rebate is a cash subsidy offered to fully funded productions that come to Fiji to film. The rebate is 47% of the Qualifying Fiji Production Expenditure (QFPE). The rebate is paid by the Fiji Government after a production is complete.

There are some fundamental rebate requirements, including: The Production Company must have a minimum Qualifying Fiji Production Expenditure of F$250,000 in Fiji; The film must not be culturally derogative in its portrayal of Fiji; The Production Company must ensure that the total productions budget is deposited in a Fiji bank account before production commences in Fiji; The Production Company must engage the services of Fiji citizens in the movie production; The Rebate will only be payable upon release of the film. The conditions for the release of the film are that the film is released in at least three other Countries; and the film is released in a prominent and internationally recognized cinema.

Full details of the filmmakers’ rebates are available at Film Fiji’s website at: http://www.film-fiji.com/pages.cfm/incentives/

Enquiries welcome:

We welcome expressions of interest from experienced producers interested in the Lead Producer role on this film and also from A-List directors interested in helming this production.

Debate intensifies over benefits of Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited scheme for authors

Since Amazon rolled out its Kindle Unlimited initiative, enabling subscribers to borrow as many ebooks as they desire for just $9.99 a month, debate has intensified over whether the scheme is good or bad for participating authors.

Cover photo

As participating authors – all our eight book titles are registered in the scheme – we have followed the debate with interest. And we know we are not alone: social media is full of author speculation on the merits or otherwise of Kindle Unlimited.

One of the best summaries of the new initiative (in our opinion) is offered by American author and publishing veteran Michael J. Sullivan in a recent contribution to DigitalBookworld.com’s excellent site. In an article headed “Kindle Unlimited’s Two-Tier System Makes Some Authors Second-Class Citizens”, Sullivan summarizes the scheme and then perceptively dissects it.

Author Michael J. Sullivan…critical of Kindle Unlimited.

Excerpts from Sullivan’s article follow:

… Historically, Amazon has been good about treating self-published authors and traditionally published authors equally. There are some exceptions…but for the most part both self- and traditionally published authors have enjoyed equal treatment. They share similar exposure on best-seller lists and top-rated lists, and Amazon’s “cut” from sales have been the same for both groups (30% under the agency model). In fact, when the agency model went into affect, Amazon raised self-publisher’s royalty from 35% to 70% to match what traditional publishers were getting. But now with the roll-out of Kindle Unlimited, we see two very different treatments:

Self-published authors MUST be exclusive to Amazon (except for a handful of best-selling authors) and can’t sell their books on other sites. Traditionally published books have no such exclusivity requirement and can be sold wherever the publisher wishes.

Self-published authors are paid from a pool set by Amazon each month. They have no idea how much they will be paid per book. Traditionally published books get paid exactly as they would if a sale were made. They know exactly what the unit price will be for each book and are not relying on the Amazon’s whim as far as what their unit price will be.

Why the difference?

Whenever I speak about a situation where an entity (retailers or publishers) treat authors poorly the answer is always the same: “because they can.” The publishers would never agree to the terms the self-published authors are getting. What Amazon is offering traditional publishers (full wholesale price without exclusivity) is a pretty good deal…

…They are giving publishers such a fair deal because there is no way the publishers would agree otherwise. Even with such attractive terms, I suspect the big-five won’t opt in their titles. But the self-published authors can be had for much less. They have been conditioned through several years of Select and those in Select are more than willing to give up other venues for higher visibility on Amazon…

…To add insult to injury, the current payout system has self-published authors subsidizing the payments of the traditionally published titles, much the way best-selling titles subsidize books that aren’t commercial successes. By this I mean that one party is getting less to offset the costs of someone else’s works.

I’m disappointed with Amazon for not offering the same terms to both self- and traditionally-published authors. Authors have grown accustomed to poor treatment from Publisher’s, and because of the way Kindle Unlimited has been rolled out, they can add Amazon as just one more multi-billion-dollar company taking advantage of them.

Finding (hiding) a cure for cancer

There are theories out there which suggest there has already been a cure, or many cures, discovered for cancer. These popular conspiracy theories suggest the Medical Industrial Complex have a huge financial incentive to suppress cures so they can continue to provide their own costly treatments for cancer patients.

If true, that would be a callous and unforgiveable business model, unnecessarily costing countless lives.

Cancer Cure/image

In the West at least, cancer is the biggest natural killer. Some fatality estimates have been as high as 20,000 cancer patients worldwide dying every day. When a cancer cure is finally found it will save millions of lives and will be the medical discovery of this era.

In the last few decades, hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent internationally on cancer research. In the US alone, since President Nixon launched his ‘War on Cancer’ program in 1971, tens of billions in government funding have been granted to cancer researchers.

There are many case studies that support the theory that a cure has been discovered for cancer. We highlight some of these in our book THE ORPHAN CONSPIRACIES: 29 Conspiracy Theories from The Orphan Trilogy.

Here’s an excerpt from the book:

In the 1920’s, Canadian nurse Rene Caisse developed a natural concoction of herbs called Essiac. She claimed it could cure cancer and garnered many testimonials from satisfied patients said to be cancer-free after taking the product. Laboratory tests did not confirm Essiac offered any benefits whatsoever, but conspiracy theorists argue the lab tests were rigged and that Big Pharma flexed its muscle to shut Caisse down.

In the 1940’s, German-born American physician Max Gerson (1881-1959) developed anutrition-based cancer treatment called Gerson Therapy. After repeatedly claiming his therapy cured cancer, Doctor Gerson had his medical license suspended and he died while still under suspension. Although now a maligned and mostly forgotten cancer treatment in America, it remains popular in Mexico where there are Gerson clinics in operation, treating local and foreign cancer patients.

In the 1950’s, American coal miner Harry Hoxsey promoted his family’s century-old herbal recipe, which he touted as a cancer cure. He set up clinics in 17 states around America before all were closed down by the FDA.Hoxsey made a rare documentary film in 1957 called You Don’t Have to Die, which detailed his cure and covered the patients he treated with it. There’s a more recent documentary titled Hoxsey: How Healing Becomes a Crime, which chronicles his battles with ‘organized medicine’.

In the 1980’s, Italian medical doctor, chemist and pharmacologist Luigi di Bella (1912-2003) claimed to have developed a cure for cancer known as Di Bella Therapy. The formula was a combination of vitamins, drugs and hormones.

The American Cancer Society says on its website that numerous studies showed Di Bella Therapy “may have had a negative effect compared to the outcome for similar patients receiving standard treatment”.

However, there are some alternative medical researchers who believe Di Bella therapy was a legitimate cancer cure that was permanently quashed by the medical establishment.

Despite the extremely negative press garnered in Italy and the rest of the world there are, or were, cancer patients who swore by Di Bella Therapy and gave testimonials. For example, on the website beatingcancercenter.org is the following statement: “For about three years, the patient has been following the Di Bella therapy without side effects, improving the quality of life and going back to work.”

Luigi di Bella himself consistently stated that pharmaceutical companies were conspiring against him.

cura-di-bella.jpg

Professor Luigi di Bella…claims Big Pharma was out to get him.

The list of other supposed cancer cures said to have been suppressed is long enough to fill a whole book. These range from Cannabidiol, the little-known medical compound found in Marijuana, to a treatment that involves ingesting nothing other than regular household baking soda.

If you have cancer or know anyone who has been diagnosed with the disease, Massimo Mazzucco’s 2010 documentary film Cancer: The Forbidden Cures is a good starting place for those searching for natural cures.

Of course, always consult with your doctor first. (And in case you’re wondering, this is another disclaimer we had to include for legal reasons!).

To be fair, the natural health sector has attracted its share of quacks, too, so all claims of cures should be treated with a degree of skepticism until proven. However, automatically riding roughshod over claims of natural cures, especially where those claims are supported by glowing, bona-fide testimonials, is not the answer any more than gullibly believing them all is.

There are those who may argue that Big Pharma could also make money out of cures for cancer and that it would be a lot easier than suppressing cures. To counter that, many independent medical researchers say long-term or ongoing cancer treatments, like chemotherapy, would be far more profitable than delivering single-visit cures. It has been estimated that the average cancer patient spends tens of thousands of dollars on standard treatments with some even spending hundreds of thousands.

Again, Big Pharma’s repeat customers are sick people. From a financial perspective, cured people are of little use.

As the cancer industry alone is a multi-trillion dollar industry for Big Pharma, it seems believable that if any cure was to be suppressed for financial gain it would be a cancer cure.

Reviewer compares ‘World Odyssey’ favorably with ‘Fiji: A Novel’

Respected book review site Great Historicals has given a big thumbs up to our historical novels World Odyssey and Fiji: A Novel, books one and two in The World Duology.

Product Details   Product Details   Product Details

“I loved reading it as much as I loved Fiji,” the reviewer says of World Odyssey.

Here’s Great Historicals’ review (unabridged) as it appears on Amazon:

World Odyssey is an epic, a story that follows the tumultuous lives of three different people – Nathan, Jack, and Susanna. In this first novel, their lives are separate from each other, and by the end of the novel, they arrive in Fiji, though their paths have yet to cross.

Lance and James Morcan have a wonderfully easy style of writing, simple but descriptive, fast paced yet detailed. It is a comfortable book that one can fully relax into because of its steady flow and lovely prose. It is a prequel to their first book, Fiji, but each book stands alone and you don’t have to read them in the order they were written in.

For the three main characters, there is change and danger at every turn. From travel on land and then on the high seas, I was intrigued and completely pulled into the story from the start to the end of this book. I loved reading it as much as I loved Fiji. I highly recommend that you get both of these fabulous epics!

Advanced (hidden) learning techniques: Part 6

Other genius techniques of the elite

The Orphan Trilogy covers numerous advanced learning methods - Baroque music being one. This form of classical music is played to our orphans from when they are babies in the womb right through their childhood.

Baroque music, especially the works of Mozart, has been shown to aid students when learning new things or recalling information.

In The Orphan Factory, book two in our trilogy, the orphans lie in enclosed flotation tanks, also known as isolation tanks. This is called sensory deprivation. Brainwaves are altered while in this deeply relaxed state, making the floating participants very receptive to new information.

We explore this and other advanced learning methods in our book THE ORPHAN CONSPIRACIES: 29 Conspiracy Theories from The Orphan Trilogy.

Here’s an excerpt from the book:

The ingredients of real-world flotation sessions are simply water and salt, and the individual floats alone for about an hour inside the tank.

Celebrities known to have used such flotation tanks include Robin Williams, John Lennon, Jeff Bridges and Susan Sarandon. William Hurt, the star of Altered States, a 1980 feature film about isolation tanks, is another celebrity said to have practiced sensory deprivation in his private life.

William Hurt…star of ‘Altered States’ and practitioner of sensory deprivation.

Various sports teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys have also used flotation tanks, as have Olympians such as American track star and nine-time gold medal-winner Carl Lewis.

There are references to chess throughout the trilogy. Our orphans play rapid-fire matches known as Lightning Chess in which entire games are completed in 10 minutes or less. This is based on the theory that by playing the board game from a young age, certain parts of a child’s brain develop quicker than normal, especially areas relating to strategy. Playing Lightning Chess and multiple games simultaneously once again relates to thinking so fast that the conscious mind must yield to the superior subconscious.

And finally, a mysterious substance known as Ormus is given to the orphans every day at the Pedemont Orphanage. By ingesting it, the children activate their entire DNA/RNA cellular system, which not only unlocks their physical body’s true potential, but also stimulates their conscious, subconscious and unconscious minds.

Often referred to as White Gold or White Gold Powder, Ormus is a real substance discovered by science several decades ago. As it has been said to balance both hemispheres of the brain and therefore allow for whole brain learning, some believe Ormus to be a natural (legal) version of the smart drug Bradley Cooper’s character took in the 2011 movie Limitless. Studies have proven whole brain learning is the ideal state for gaining new knowledge. (See Chapter 9 for more on White Gold).

From the examples given in this chapter alone, it should now be clear there have always been individuals learning at speeds many or most mainstream educationalists would have us believe are not possible. From US presidents like JFK and Roosevelt, to CIA agents and great polymaths such as Leonardo da Vinci, to savants like Kim Peek and Daniel Tammet, history’s full of people achieving intellectual feats well beyond the norm.

We concede it cannot be proven that elite groups are withholding some of the most advanced learning methods from mainstream society. Hence it remains a ‘conspiracy theory’. Even so, it’s pretty obvious that little known, accelerated learning techniques do exist.

But remember, we could be totally wrong about everything we wrote on the genius mindset here and in The Orphan Trilogy. Also, it’s probably time to admit neither of us has ever done an IQ test…For all we know we could both be as thick as bricks! In which case, you’d be wise not to drop out of university or spend any time researching the accelerated learning methods we’ve outlined in this chapter.

Advanced (hidden) learning techniques: Part 5

Superluminal particles

The physics of faster-than-light (also known as superluminal) phenomena may hold great potential for accelerated learning.

In his 2014 book Superluminal Particles and Hypercomputation, leading Japanese scientist Dr. Takaaki Musha claims that the superiority of the human brain is due to the superluminal particles generated in the microtubules of the brain.

Dr. Musha…scientist and author.

Dr. Musha referred to this, and expanded on it in some detail, in his valued contribution to our book THE ORPHAN CONSPIRACIES: 29 Conspiracy Theories from The Orphan Trilogy:

Here’s an excerpt from our book:

The blurb for Superluminal Particles and Hypercomputation mentions that the book “describes a series of theoretical explorations probing the possibility that superluminal particles exist, and if so the consequences their existence may hold for biology and computing. Starting from the standpoint of a model of the brain based on superluminal tunneling photons, the authors included in this volume have described theoretically the possibility of a brain-like computer that would be more powerful than Turing machines, would allow non-Turing computations, and that may hold the key to the origin of human consciousness itself”.

A former senior employee of Japan’s Ministry of Defense where he developed naval weapon systems, Dr. Musha claims this generated superluminal field connects individuals with the outer field of the Universe and he contends this may explain human consciousness as well as the collective mind of Mankind.

Dr. Musha’s theory relates to the quantum mechanics scale known as decoherence, which measures the time to maintain the quantum coherence between particles. If the decoherence time is long in an individual’s brain, it permits the person to connect to the outer superluminal field easily.

“I think that the activity of superluminal particles can be maintained by the structure of the metamaterial in the microtubules,” says Dr. Musha. “The metamaterial has a non-natural property such as negative refractive index, which permits superluminal evanescent photons to move loosely in the nervous system. If this structure malfunctions in an individual, many problems can occur such as Alzheimer’s disease.”

Dr. Musha believes decoherence time can possibly be extended by mental training. If this is true, then genius abilities like photographic memory could result from the right sort of training.

If an individual’s brain can connect with the superluminal field which is part of all other living organisms, then it may be possible for that individual to come from an awareness of what has been termed the universal brain. Dr. Musha claims this could explain the extraordinary abilities of the human mind, such as the enigma of Indian mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan.

Superluminal Particles and Hypercomputation also proposes that the true nature of the human electromagnetic field may be similar to that of the Universe as a whole.

Dr. Musha continues, “The ancient Indian Vedas texts have lent a comparable view of unified consciousness with a key difference being the process of human ascension from stage to stage. Instead of oneness with the Universe, the Vedic vision of consciousness emphasizes the importance of attaining knowledge and pure intelligence.

“This is similar to the Vedic concept that the totality of our consciousness is comprised of three levels: the subconscious, the conscious, and the superconscious mind. These levels of consciousness represent differing degrees of intensity of awareness. Intuition and heightened mental clarity flow from superconscious awareness. The conscious mind is limited by its analytical nature, and therefore sees all things as separate and distinct.

“We may be puzzled by a certain situation, because it seems unrelated to other events, it’s difficult to draw a clear course of action. By contrast, because the superconscious mind is intuitive and sees all things as part of a whole, it can readily draw solutions.”

Dr. Musha also believes that if science can utilize superluminal particles for computer technology, it will one day be possible to build a hypercomputer system which has its own consciousness – like the HAL 9000 computer in the Stanley Kubrick film, 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Kindle Unlimited = unlimited ebook borrows for Amazon customers

Amazon’s announcement that customers who subscribe to its new Kindle Unlimited initiative can borrow as many ebooks as they want to from a library of over 600,000 titles is exciting readers and authors alike.

090209_kindle2

While not quite a revolutionary idea – previously subscribers enrolled in the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library (KOLL) could borrow one ebook per month – the new system means there’s no limit to the number of ebooks subscribers can borrow – provided they pay the $10 monthly fee.

For those avid bookworms who regularly read one book, or more, per week, Kindle Unlimited represents excellent value. It also means they can ‘try out’ books by new or unknown authors by borrowing the books in stead of having to shell out valuable dollars and hope they (the books) justify their investment.

For authors, like us, who still receive a payment – albeit a reduced payment – from Amazon for every book borrowed, the scheme provides additional access to readers who may not readily buy our books; it’s also likely to create excellent word-of-mouth, leading to more sales.

It’s a win-win for readers and authors.

All books currently enrolled in KDP Select with U.S. rights will be automatically included in Kindle Unlimited. KDP Select books will also continue to be enrolled in (KOLL) available to Amazon Prime customers in the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, and Japan where authors will continue to earn a share of the KDP Select global fund when their book is borrowed.

For those Amazon customers enrolled with Kindle Unlimited, you may come across our books available in the unlimited downloads scheme…

The above books can be found on our Amazon author pages at:
