Let’s not be too quick to dismiss those UFO sightings as some influential people including world leaders, former NASA astronauts, policemen, scientists, senators, cosmonauts, intelligence and defense officials claim “We are not alone!”…

A trend we’ve noticed in those who instantly deny the possibility of UFOs being anything other than people deceiving themselves into thinking they’ve seen flying saucers, is they write off anybody who makes such claims as being delusional.

This ‘cognitive dissonance’ symptom works quite well in isolation — that is, calling one or two individuals with unusual ideas crazy. However, when you keep an open mind and research the number of world leaders and powerful insiders who have confirmed that UFO technology (either manmade or alien) exists in official statements or other quotes, this cognitive dissonance technique becomes far less convincing.

We address this in our new release book ANTIGRAVITY PROPULSION: Human or Alien Technologies? , which includes an afterword by scientist Dr. Takaaki Musha, Director of the Advanced-Science Technology Research Organization. As the title suggests, we explore whether those UFOs and flying saucers many suggest are here, are the result of human or alien technologies.

The undeniable fact is, many prominent, highly educated, well regarded and completely sane individuals have been quoted affirming that “the UFO phenomenon is real” and that “antigravity technologies are being withheld from the public”. Furthermore, and perhaps more importantly, many of these renowned individuals also claim, “We are not alone in the Universe”.

When such influential and respected people make such extraordinary claims, should we so quickly dismiss such ideas?

Muslim viewpoint adds value to our ‘Underground Knowledge’ poll

Our latest ‘Underground Knowledge’ group poll on the popular literary site Goodreads.com has taken an interesting turn with one of our Muslim members adding to the discussion.

The poll simply asks: Do you believe in God? Results remain largely unchanged since our last poll update with 71% of poll respondents saying Yes (I believe in God); 16% saying No (I am an atheist); and 13% saying Undecided (I am an agnostic).

Our Muslim member, whom we shall call “Aabid” for the sake of this post, comments as follows:

 I am a believer, I believr in God, Allah, and I would like to point out that Muhammad Peace be upon him, is the a prophet and messenger of God, he’s a person just like all human beings, and in Islam, he’s Not considered a God, God is the Great Creator of the universe, the ultimate power and mighty of all, so please if you’re not a believer don’t be offensive to other religions, Islam Christianity Judasim Pagan or all, please dig things up before you say anything, just like I respect all of your opinions.

I actually find it incredible that the media has managed to blur people’s opinions, and logic, of Islam and Islamic State etc. We’re on dangerous ground when it comes to confusing someone’s religion with others’ terrorist political religious views. (Especially when Islam and Christianity, along with Judaism of course, are from the same root)…And, oh…. how many examples there have been throughout history, especially with Christianity…

Stop tarring all with the same brush. Think it through. It’s pretty damn easy to see that terrorism and Islam are two completely different things. And yet, I still feel the need to point it out because people are being brainwashed by the media. Look at who funds both sides of this new world war. That’s who the enemy is. Look at your own governments and ask: “Was it something we did?” You’ll soon find out, hell yes, it was. They’re fighting the West for a reason. You wanna stop the increasing war? Start by changing your own country’s philosophy and start asking: “What can we do to HELP this situation?”

There are also elements of Islam I disagree with. But I just feel Muslims are being misrepresented in Western media. And moderate Muslims (the vast majority) are paying the price for extreme zealots (small minority).

Chess improves kids’ critical thinking skills…and probably makes them smarter

There’s a theory that playing chess from a young age develops certain parts of a child’s brain develop quicker than normal, especially areas relating to strategy. We explore this in our new release book GENIUS INTELLIGENCE: Secret Techniques and Technologies to Increase IQ.

In our international thriller series The Orphan Trilogy, our fititious orphans play rapid-fire matches known as Lightning Chess in which entire games are completed in 10 minutes or less. Playing Lightning Chess and multiple games (of chess) simultaneously relates to thinking so fast that the conscious mind must yield to the superior subconscious — another intelligence-enhancing technique.

It has been recognized by many observers that chess players often have very high IQ’s and seem to exhibit many of the telltale signs of genius.

What does it do to a child’s brain to play chess from a young age?

Nobody knows for sure and test results remain inconclusive to date. No doubt it is a difficult thing to study precisely given it requires studying young chess players over years if not decades.

Experimental results, however, have been collected from the likes of the Grandmaster Eugene Torre Chess Institute, in the Philippines, and the United States Chess Federation as well as other chess schools around the world. All these bodies agree that playing the board game increases intellect in young people.

Plus a few small studies have also shown that chess players develop better memories, verbal skills, mathematical abilities as well as healthier problem-solving skills and imaginations than the average person.

For example, a 1995 research study on chess and students was conducted by American cardiologist Dr. Robert Ferguson. It showed that chess improves a child’s critical thinking skills. Ferguson’s subjects, who were all school students aged between 11 and 14, improved their test results by 17% on average after becoming proficient chess players.

Chess champ Bobby Fischer started playing at age six.

An article that appears on the neuroscience and brain health website Examined Existence provides further insights into the potential link between chess and high intelligence.

Headlined Does Playing Chess Make You Smarter?, the report boldly states that chess definitely improves IQ.

The article states, “According to a study conducted in Venezuela, results have shown that children who took chess classes for 4½ months have increased their IQ points. This conclusion is also backed up by a 2003 study of Murray Thompson, a Ph.D. Education student at the Flinders University in Australia. In his research, participants who played chess also demonstrated improved IQ levels. Thompson ascribes this to the concentration and logical thinking a chess game calls for.”

The Examined Existence article also mentions that chess can improve mental abilities in adults as well, including the elderly. “Chess has proven to be highly effective in protecting the elderly from neuro-degenerative conditions like dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.”

Strong customer response to Amazon’s unlimited book borrows initiative

Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) team announced this week they continue to see strong response from customers to the Kindle Unlimited (KU) book borrows scheme and are adding a bonus of $4.25 million to the previously announced base fund amount of $3 million. This brings the total fund to $7.25 million for the month of December.

KDP released the following report “to share some initial results from the first few months of Kindle Unlimited” with its stable of participating authors and independent publishers:

• Renewal Rates – Authors have chosen to renew their titles in KDP Select at rates in excess of 95% in each month of 2014.

• A La Carte Sales Growth – During the 5 full months since KU launch (August to December 2014), royalties to KDPS authors from a la carte sales have grown faster than a la carte sales on KDP overall or Kindle overall.

• Adding in the payments for KOLL and KU over that time, total royalties to KDPS authors more than doubled when compared to the same period in 2013.

• Total earnings on titles priced $2.99 or greater are growing faster than the overall average. The same is true for titles 150+ pages in length.

A KDP spokesperson says, “To further highlight the KDP Select books that are most popular with customers, we will again award “KDP Select All-Stars” for December to the most-read authors and titles in the U.S., U.K. and Germany. We’ll spotlight each All-Star author and title on applicable detail pages.

Princeton University proves that thought influences physical reality

One of the many interesting discussion threads in our ‘Underground Knowledge’ group on Goodreads.com reveals there is an exhaustive body of research that links the physical world with mental activity. In fact, Princeton University’s Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) recently completed a 28-year study on this very subject.

According to a press release issued by Princeton University, research staff focused on two major areas of study — anomalous human/machine interactions, which addresses the effects of consciousness on random physical systems and processes, and remote perception, wherein people attempt to acquire information about distant locations and events.

The article continues:

The enormous databases produced by PEAR provide clear evidence that human thought and emotion can produce measureable influences on physical reality.

We have accomplished what we originally set out to do 28 years ago, namely to determine whether these effects are real and to identify their major correlates.

There are still many important questions to be addressed that will require a coordinated interdisciplinary approach to the topic, but it is time for the next generation of scholars to take over.

Ever thought about ‘adopting’ genius qualities?

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) may be one way to increase IQ. We explore this process in our new release book GENIUS INTELLIGENCE: Secret Techniques and Technologies to Increase IQ.

Created in the US in the 1970’s, it is claimed there’s an important link between the neurological processes (“neuro”) and language (“linguistic”). The conclusion NLP makes is that desired behavioral patterns can be achieved through specific “programming”.

Famous practitioners of NLP include the likes of Warren Buffet, Gerard Butler, Tony Robbins, Russell Brand, Paul McKenna and Andre Agassi.

One theory suggests it is possible to ‘model genius’ through NLP techniques. Modeling genius apparently requires NLP practitioners to model or adopt genius qualities they see in others they wish to be like.

For example, an aspiring professional (male) golfer may model himself on Tiger Woods, while a young businessman may model himself on Richard Branson. Or, perhaps more to the point of Genius Intelligence, science students could attempt to model themselves on Albert Einstein.

Latest ‘Underground Knowledge’ poll asks: Do you believe in God? -Results surprise.

In the latest poll in our ‘Underground Knowledge’ group on the popular literary site Goodreads.com we ask members: Do you believe in God? Given the number of declared atheists in the group, the interim results are surprising.

To date, 72% of poll respondents say Yes (I believe in God); 16% say No (I am an atheist); and 12% say Undecided (I am an agnostic).

It should be pointed out, the question (Do you believe in God) asked in the poll is qualified by the following: “This word doesn’t just include the Christian deity or other religious versions but any concept of God such as non-religious ‘spiritual’, New Age definitions or quantum physics/scientific theories of God).”

Ambidexterity reveals an almost completely symmetrical brain – a desirable trait if you want to be a genius

While researching our new release book GENIUS INTELLIGENCE: Secret Techniques and Technologies to Increase IQ, we were surprised to learn that many of history’s most renowned geniuses were physically ambidextrous, or equally proficient with their right and left hands. These include scientific and artistic giants such as Albert Einstein, Michelangelo, Nikola Tesla and Leonardo da Vinci.

Given that less than 1% of the population are truly ambidextrous, we immediately wondered if that was just a coincidence, or was the ambidexterity of these individuals somehow crucial to the genius abilities each possessed?

Although more research needs to be done and there are some scientists who have suggested undesirable mental traits result from being ambidextrous, brain scans have revealed one telling statistic that may explain the seemingly high instance of geniuses in the ambidextrous population.

That statistic reveals that unlike right-handers, ambidextrous people have almost completely symmetrical brains. Meaning they are naturally in the all-important whole brain state. Right handers, on the other hand, generally have strong left brain dominance. Lefties often have brain symmetry as well, but not to the extent that ambidextrous people do.

You’ll recall throughout Genius Intelligence we have referred to the whole brain mode (aka hemispheric synchronization) being the ideal state for accessing higher intelligences. So, could acquiring ambidexterity be one way of bringing out latent genius abilities?

Digging deeper, we found a Psychology Today article on the history and neuroscience of left-handed, right-handed and ambidextrous people. Published on August 12, 2013, and written by bestselling author and athlete Christopher Bergland, the article surmises that the ultimate state for genius-level intelligence is to create brain symmetry and to be as close as possible to ambidextrous with your hands.

Ambidexterity in motion.

Another article, published in (e) Science News on October 4, 2013, may also offer more specific insights. Headlined Well-connected hemispheres of Einstein’s brain may have sparked his brilliance, the article reports that “The left and right hemispheres of Albert Einstein’s brain were unusually well connected to each other and may have contributed to his brilliance, according to a new study conducted in part by Florida State University evolutionary anthropologist Dean Falk.”

So, if Einstein-like interconnectedness of brain hemispheres is the ultimate goal, then it seems being ambidextrous, or at least developing some ambidextrous traits, may facilitate this brain state.

A few techniques to develop ambidexterity include: write and draw with the wrong hand (i.e. left hand for Righties and right hand for Lefties); do household tasks with the wrong hand; play musical instruments that involve both hands such as piano, guitar or flute; learn how to juggle.
