Aborigines welcome escaped convict as a white spirit in true-life novel

Quote from White Spirit: “To understand the Dreamtime, you must understand that we do not own the land. The land is our mother and she owns and nurtures us.” –Old Aboriginal saying.

White Spirit (A novel based on a true story) by [Morcan,James, Morcan, Lance]

White Spirit (A novel based on a true story).

When Irish convict John Graham escaped Australia’s Moreton Bay penal settlement only to be captured by a remote tribe of Aborigines who had never seen a white man before, he couldn’t have known what adventures lay before him.

At first, the natives thought Graham a white spirit, one of their own returned from the dead. And he considered them backward, bloodthirsty savages.

As the years passed, he became lover to the beguiling Aboriginal woman who ‘identified’ him as her late husband, and he became a father to her two children. He also came to realise the natives who had adopted him were people who harboured the same hopes, dreams and desires as himself.

Over this period, John Graham was never forgotten by the beautiful young Englishwoman he’d left behind. He was also tracked relentlessly by a native the British Army called the Tracker.

Historical adventure novel a Romeo and Juliet story set in the wilderness

Bestselling INTO THE AMERICAS (A novel based on a true story)  is a tale of two vastly different cultures, indigenous North American and European civilization, colliding head on. It is also a Romeo and Juliet story set in the wilderness.

Into the Americas (A novel based on a true story) by [Morcan, Lance, Morcan, James]

Nineteen year-old English seaman John Jewitt is one of only two survivors after his crewmates clash with the fierce Mowachaht tribe in the Pacific Northwest. A life of slavery awaits John and his fellow survivor, a belligerent American sailmaker, in a village ruled by the iron fist of Maquina, the all-powerful chief. Desperate to taste freedom again, they make several doomed escape attempts over mountains and sea. Only their value to the tribe and John’s relationship with Maquina prevents their captors from killing them.

As the seasons pass, John ‘goes Indian’ after falling in love with Eu- stochee, a beautiful maiden. In the bloodshed that follows, John discovers another side to himself – a side he never knew existed and a side he detests.

The stakes rise when John learns Eu-stochee is pregnant. When a final opportunity to escape arises, he must choose between returning to civilization or staying with Eu-stochee and their newborn son.

INTO THE AMERICAS (A novel based on a true story) is available via Amazon as a paperback or Kindle ebook: http://www.amazon.com/Into-Americas-novel-based-story-ebook/dp/B00YJKM51E/

The novel was inspired by the diary entries of young English blacksmith John Jewitt during his time aboard the brigantine The Boston, and also during his sojourn at Nootka Sound, on North America’s western seaboard, from 1802 to 1805.

INTO THE AMERICAS has been adapted to a feature film screenplay and the planned movie is in early development with Morcan Motion Pictures. Expressions of interest are welcome from experienced film producers and directors.

Kickbacks for doctors highlighted in ‘Medical Industrial Complex’

“The vast majority of curricula that are taught in medical schools in this country (USA) were put together by organizations that were founded by, or are funded by, pharmaceutical companies,” according to natural health expert T.C. Hale.

That provocative quote kicks off a chapter headed ‘Kickbacks for doctors’ in our book MEDICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX: The $ickness Industry, Big Pharma and Suppressed Cures.

In the same chapter we quote Cicero, who said, “In nothing do men more nearly approach the gods than in giving health to men.” Certainly, the medical profession, in its purest form, is a noble one. And doctors are clearly at the apex of the profession.

We have no wish to denigrate doctors, or to denigrate anyone who devotes their life to helping fellow man. However, it would be remiss of us not to bring your attention to some, shall we say, gaps in the system – gaps that allow doctors to abuse their position if they are so inclined.

And we stress that those who do (abuse their position) are very much in the minority. That said, the number of doctors who have brought their profession into disrepute, worldwide, is staggeringly high. Certainly far too many for so noble a profession, we would argue.

___________________________________________________________

“An apple a day, if well aimed, keeps the doctor away.” –P.G. Wodehouse

___________________________________________________________

In Medical Industrial Complex, we list proven and shocking examples of kickbacks to doctors.

One study found that doctors in the US receiving payments from pharma companies were twice as likely to prescribe their drugs.

We quote a detailed 61-page report compiled by the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), which starts out with the comment that “While rent-seeking behavior may not be surprising generally, that financial conflicts of interest could influence physicians’ advice might be less expected. For one, doctors are highly paid, with most falling in the top 5% of the income distribution within the US”.

The UCSD report continues, “When drug companies have financial relationships with physicians, medical decisions may be influenced by pecuniary motives not directly related to patient health…”

The report’s conclusion is that “Using data from twelve drug companies, more than 330,000 physicians and nearly one billion prescriptions, we find that when a drug company pays a doctor he is more likely to prescribe that company’s drug.”

A US Federal Government report, detailing 4.4 million payments made to doctors and teaching hospitals by pharmaceutical and medical device companies sheds more light on the vexing kickbacks issue…

We conclude the chapter by saying, ‘Hopefully, this insight into doctors’ kickbacks from the likes of Big Pharma and the medical equipment suppliers hasn’t destroyed your faith in your family doctor. We stress that those who succumb to the temptations on offer are in the minority and so, statistically speaking, we’d like to think there’s a very small chance your doctor is one of the culprits.’

About Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIN, Apple and that ban on Alex Jones and Infowars

Do you like or dislike the decision of big tech companies to permanently ban Alex Jones/Infowars from their platforms? We put this very question to members of our Underground Knowledge global discussion group in Goodreads – and the interim results are in.

To date, 54% of poll respondents DISLIKE the decision; 31% of respondents LIKE the decision; and 15% are UNSURE.

Controversial American radio show host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

Respondents’ comments make for interesting reading.

A selection of (abridged) comments follow:

Definitely dislike. Here’s why: either freedom of speech exists or it doesn’t. We can’t say “Yes, I’ll allow it” when we like the message, and “Nope, I’ll ban this” when we don’t. The internet helped movements like the Arab Spring, #BlackLivesMatter and #MeToo, and we loved that, but let’s not forget that conspiracy theorists and propagandists have the right to use it too.

I voted dislike and think it could be the beginning of a slippery slope with more and more internet censorship. Given that most of our flow of information, and even much of formal child/adult education, is now done via the internet rather than physical books/papers/records, should we be concerned about increasing measures to censor the internet? It seemed to be a co-ordinated censorship of Alex Jones/Infowars where Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIN, Apple and Spotify all banned him on the exact same day… I’m no big fan of Alex Jones or Inforwars, by the way. I mean he/they do have some legit underreported facts and have exposed definite corruption over the years, but at the same time there are a lot of assumptions made and tinfoil hat-style leaps of faith thrown in the mix…

I may not like what someone has to say but I’ll defend the right they have to say it. Right now it’s Alex Jones but next it could be you. A slippery slope coated with grease…

Couldn’t care less if it was Alex Jones or Owen Jones on ‘trial by social media’ here. Leave it to the law and lawyers to work out what constitutes ‘hate speech’, incitement and all the rest, they’re far more qualified to do so.

This is not North Korea…. or Russia….. I definitely don’t support him, but I’m shocked by this kind of censorship.

I dislike what little I have heard of Alex Jones, but that is not the issue. Big companies tend to do what as few as one dictate, and the use of that power to inhibit free speech is fatal to our way of life. I would go for better enforcement of libel, slander, and other laws, but not the stomping on free speech by a very limited elite.

I voted dislike. The coordinated censorship in some regard is the right of the companies that reacted. If our government was not controlled by corporations freedom of speech would not be legitamently be part of this discussion, but such is not the case. The phobia of controversy is the engine of this insidious machine.

I do not believe in taking away freedom of speech in any way. It disturbs me greatly to see so many going after one man, who I don’t particularly enjoy watching, but sometimes he happens to be spot on with his challenges.

What is even more disturbing is the amount of people that are happy to have such censorship! Alex Jones may make up some crap, but have you watched the news lately? They are full of crap too. Mostly putting forth their own opinions instead of giving “the facts and only the facts”.

Underground Knowledge group membership tops 9,000 on Goodreads

Membership of our Underground Knowledge global discussion group on Goodreads.com – the site for books, readers and authors – topped 9,000 this week, making it one of the biggest, fastest-growing groups on the Amazon-owned site.

We originally formed this group as a little experiment… Simply to see if anyone else would be interested in citizen journalism or if they wanted to freely discuss all those topics mainstream media almost never covers. We’ve been pleasantly surprised by the huge interest from members all over the world.

Our aim is to encourage debates about important and underreported issues of our era. All you need is an enquiring mind and a desire to gain or share ‘underground knowledge’. Everyone’s welcome!

You can visit the Underground Knowledge discussion group at https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/142309-underground-knowledge-a-discussion-group

Check out the near-limitless number of discussion threads, or, better still, have YOUR say.

Let’s ruffle some feathers on the world stage!

Be seein’ you in the Underground…

‘The Catcher in the Rye Enigma’ seems to polarize readers

Our non-fiction book The Catcher in the Rye Enigma: J.D. Salinger’s Mind Control Triggering Device or a Coincidental Literary Obsession of Criminals?  has been praised by critics in the UK, but not in the US.

Now why is that?

We suspect it’s because Americans feel ownership of Salinger’s 1951 novel The Catcher in the Rye – not surprising given it’s an all-time American classic and one of the bestselling books of the 20th Century.

On Amazon.UK, our book, The Catcher in the Rye Enigma, currently enjoys a 4-Star review rating whereas on Amazon.com it only has a 3-Star rating. Respective reviewers’ comments reflect this.

One UK reviewer, for example, says, “This book has certainly opened up my eyes. Well researched. Highly recommended!” And another says, “I found this read very thought provoking, interesting and a bit frightening.”

One US reviewer, however, reflects what many American critics seem to think. He says, “How many persons have read The Catcher in the Rye? This author (that’s us, the Morcans, he refers to) villainizes a dead author who cannot defend himself on the basis of evidence which even the publisher (that’s us also) admits is theoretical and perhaps not true. Shame on you…”

To read more about this controversial and apparently polarizing book (by James & Lance Morcan) go to: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Catcher-Rye-Enigma-Coincidental-Underground-ebook/dp/B00YVROKZ4/

The Catcher in the Rye Enigma: J.D. Salinger's Mind Control Triggering Device or a Coincidental Literary Obsession of Criminals? (The Underground Knowledge Series Book 4) by [Morcan, James, Morcan, Lance]

The Catcher in the Rye Enigma unearths the mysteries surrounding J.D. Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye – arguably the most controversial book of all time.

The allegation directed at Salinger is that he (and/or his publisher) craftily implanted into the book neurolinguistic passages, or coded messages, that act as post-hypnotic suggestions or mind control “triggers”. In turn, these triggers enabled CIA handlers to activate Manchurian Candidates for assassinations. Some conspiracy theorists also believe the novel was part of the CIA’s now mostly-declassified mind control program MK-Ultra, and that while assassins were being brainwashed they were forced to read the book over and over until it was embedded in their minds.

But given that Salinger’s critically acclaimed masterpiece was one of the biggest selling books of the 20th Century, are the crimes it was associated with merely happenstance? Today, if a handful of different murderers had a copy of The Da Vinci Code or a Harry Potter  book, or were all fixated on a similarly popular book, would it even make the news headlines?

We investigate these theories and counter arguments in this, our fourth book in The Underground Knowledge Series. This balanced exposé ultimately leaves it up to you, the reader, to decide whether J.D. Salinger’s novel is a “Mind Control Triggering Device” or simply a “Coincidental Literary Obsession of Criminals” just as this book’s subtitle suggests.

Putrid salmon favored by First Nations people of Pacific Northwest

For some reason, the people of the Pacific Northwest considered rotten fish – salmon in particular – a delicacy, much preferring it to fresh fish. As a result, the odor of putrid fish filled the lodges at Nootka village, including the slaves’ quarters as it did on this occasion.

Toothie wandered over to the white slaves, holding two calabashes of food he’d prepared over the cooking fire. John Jewitt and Thompson accepted the offerings gratefully.

A quick inspection showed it consisted of fish grilled in seal oil. It looked appetizing enough, but the whites guessed the fish Toothie had used came from the small stockpile of putrid salmon the slaves kept in the lodge when supplies permitted.

So hungry were John and Thompson they crammed hand-fulls of the fish into their mouths as soon as it had cooled sufficiently.

It took all their self-control not to gag as they digested the putrid salmon, but they managed to keep it down. If nothing else, they found it was filling and would help them survive another day at least. They weren’t to know it was also very nutritious, and would sustain them until their next meal.

Pentagon guided tour an eye-opener for this author

In 1998, one of us (James) took a guided tour through the Pentagon, the US Department of Defense headquarters in Arlington County, Virginia. It was quite an eye-opener.

The tour guide was a young military staffer and the other 50 or so tour party members included a chubby, garrulous boy of about eight or nine who spoke with a southern drawl and was constantly eating. Between mouthfuls of food, the boy interrupted the tour guide’s running commentary in a loud voice, asking, “What about the levels below the Pentagon, sir?”

The tour guide politely but firmly replied, “Son, there are no levels below the Pentagon, what you see is all there is.”

That reply seemed to satisfy the boy until about five minutes later he repeated the question and received a near identical response. This same question-same answer pattern continued for the remainder of the tour, visibly raising the young staffer’s aggravation levels every time he was interrupted and forced to answer the persistent boy.

In all likelihood the boy had watched TV shows or movies referencing the conspiracy theory which insists there are miles of tunnels, subterranean levels and underground bunkers below the Pentagon, suggesting what’s seen above ground is merely the tip of the iceberg.

Pure fantasy? Imagine for a moment a reality where all the technologies that futurists have predicted have already been invented and are currently being used by a privileged few.

There have been numerous reports of scientific inventions that never saw the light of day even though they were perfected and ready to go on the market. Rumors of these radical inventions date back to the post-Industrial Revolution period in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, and have persisted right up to and including the present day.

Author says novel pleads to become a film

In his review of Silent Fear (A novel inspired by true crimes), author Grady Harp insists the book is “a stunning, grisly mystery that pleads to become a film.”

Silent Fear (A novel inspired by true crimes) by [Morcan, Lance, Morcan, James]

Harp, who is the Art and Poetry Reviewer for POETS and ARTISTS Magazine  and a bestselling author in his own right, says, “The quality of prose is excellent in this thriller – likely attributable in part to the authors’ experience with creating film both in storyline and acting.”

Excerpts from his review follow:

So often the tenor of a novel is distinctly set in a finely honed Prologue, and that is certainly the case here.

‘…Ever so gradually the hole in the brick wall grew smaller as he laid more bricks. Despite what was at stake, he worked at a leisurely pace, all the while thinking. That was something he did a lot these days. Thinking, that is.

‘The hole was now so small he could hardly see the object he was concealing. Only the deceased’s face was visible, covered by the transparent plastic bag he’d used so effectively to cut off the other’s air supply just thirty minutes earlier.

‘He smiled at the memory of the deceased’s final moments. Those last seconds when the young man had recognised his attacker and realised he was about to die. Beautiful…poetry in motion…slow motion. Oh how he loved the exhilarating, orgasmic-like feelings he’d experienced as the life of another was snuffed out. He willingly embraced them as he relived the moment. It was as if the helpless young man before him was still dying.

‘Studying the deceased now, or what he could still see of him at least, he recalled how he’d laughed uproariously just before death came to his victim. The visuals replayed over and over in his mind. He remembered how the veins in the young man’s eyeballs, face and neck appeared to burst as he was deprived of air, and how fragile he’d looked – like a child being tortured.

‘The icing on the cake had been when he’d used his hands to communicate a final message via sign language. He could still see the look on his victim’s face when, seconds before death came, he realised what was being communicated to him. It was a look of total horror, which was somehow more accentuated when viewed through the transparent plastic bag. That had made this killing even more satisfying.’

It is with the same degree of imaginative intensity that his story is revealed, and as the synopsis describes the plot the book becomes even more inviting – ‘When you can’t hear…death comes silently.’
