Take the Good with the Bad
Today is just one of those days when I need to remind myself that everything happens for a reason. Sometimes when you think it can’t get much worse it does but on the other side of the torrential downpour is sun and a beautiful rainbow.
We will all get to the other side. Chin up (or in my case chins)! We can get through this together!

I’m Just Here to Save the World – Don’t Panic!
So this morning my 5-year-old had one of those teary, “Don’t leave me, Mommy!” mornings. She grabbed ahold my neck like a python and wept copious tears all over me. In fear of drowning and positive I would go to work tear stained I had to quickly come up with a plan.
These are the moments when being a fiction writer really pays off!
I whispered into her ear, “Baby, Mommy’s really a superhero in disguise. If you don’t let me go there will be economic collapse, world chaos, and people could die.”
She leaned back with wide eyes, the tears finally ending.
I nodded at her. “I am that important. You have to let me go.”
She relaxed her grip on my neck, nodded back and kissed me goodbye.
I would love to say she stopped crying completely but she still had a good pout on her and she cried, “I love you! I love you!” As I got into my car, but I think she knows Mommy needs to save the world for one more day.
Many Blessing to You All!

A Book Review of Super Stitches Sewing by Nicole Vasbinde
So if you’ve followed me for awhile you know I have book coming out October 7th, which is a heck of a lot of work. So for some reason I decided to get a little crafty at the same time (I now I don’t know where I find the time either – I think I just go manic) and I decided to learn to sew. Um, what?! How many times did I fail home economics in high school attempting to do this and that was with a teacher? Okay, so I’m stubborn and I don’t like to admit defeat. Sue me!
Luckily blogging for books offered Super Stitches Sewing by Nicole Vasbinde as part of their program because the DVD that came with my machine basically showed me how to thread the darn thing like that’s all I needed to suddenly know how to sew. Super Stitches Sewing picks up where the DVD left off.
This books is a fantastic little gem that showed me and told me which stitches in my 17 selection machine would work for my projects (yes, I’ve made a little dress for my daughter and it’s Hello Kitty cute!!). This book is not a step by step project book but a technique book of all the stitches on a sewing machine. There’s hand sew techniques in there too but I’m not going all crazy with this! I haven’t yet started to darn socks, although I do have a few in need of repair . . . Anyway! This book is a on my keeper shelf, since without it I would just be straight stitching everything.
Thank you to Nicole Vasbinde for keeping is simple for those of us who aren’t domestic goddesses!
Many Blessings ~
