inDIVISIBLE - Coming Soon!

“If you could do anything in the world without anyone listening in or watching, what would you do?”            I’d never been allowed to think like that, so I honestly didn’t know. I hesitated and T stopped beside me, waiting.

Angels Landing Hike - Photo Tour

It's been on my list for a while now, to hike Angels Landing! Now I'm checking it off my bucket list! For those of you who have not gone, do it! It's an awesome hike with beautiful scenery and lots of fun people to meet along the way. Was it as hard a hike as I've read? Not for me. I found it fun and exciting. Others were nervous, intimidated or frightened. Not everyone who hikes it makes it all the way to the top, but our entire group did!
The Angels Landing hike in Zion Canyon begins with lots of switchbacks as you climb a steep cliff. The sides of the trail drop straight down but the trail itself is wide and paved. We hiked in the morning, which allowed for shade. We were in full sun on the way back down, which got very warm!   After the first set of switchbacks is a nice, fairly level pathway up a narrow canyon. It's beautiful and was a nice reprieve before the next set of switchbacks.  Partway up the switchbacks, we stopped for a pic.  The second set of switchbacks from above.  On top of the switchbacks and back into the sun.  The chains start here and are a great anchor for some to reach the resting point known as Scouts Lookout.   From Scouts Lookout, you can see the rest of our hike looming in the distance. People who don't want to make the rest of the hike stop here and there were a LOT of them stopped here.  This is the step of faith... about a 2' wide rock leading to the hardest part of the hike. Notice that the ground falls away on each side of the rock. This is over 1000' above the Zion Canyon floor.  There are a lot of steep inclines up sandstone, narrow cliffs, and lots of people going each way... If you're afraid of heights. It may not be the best idea to hike Angels Landing.  Reaching the top of the hike! Just over the ridge where all the people are gathered.  We did it! At the top of Angels Landing is a long ridge. We hiked to the end of the ridge and stood at the very tip, getting an incredible 360 degree view of the canyon! Proof we all made it! Thanks, Australian guy, who took our picture and nearly slipped on the sandstone as we he did so... I'm really glad you're safe! This is the view from our picnic area on top of Angels Landing! We found a small shade tree and enjoyed the view! PB&J never tasted so good!
