Book Review: A Ranch Bordering the Salty River by Stephen Page

A Ranch Bordering the Salty River by Stephen Page

★★★★★

Stephen Page’s A Ranch Bordering the Salty River accomplishes something quite impressive just in its genre-bending layout: 20 pointed poems tell a story whose depth could span the breadth of a novel. More impressive, these poems stay with you; this story stays with you. The lingering power of A Ranch Bordering the Salty River is made possible by Page’s control over language. Not only are we granted what feels...

Hello From Seattle!

Seattle Municipal Archives / via Flickr

Seattle Municipal Archives / via Flickr

The photograph above shows cars driving across a floating bridge on I-90. Human beings, we advise you to rejoice! Touch thy head, extend gratitude to thy brain, for by reading this you are flexing your consciousness!

Okay, that’s a silly way to talk. Sorry. Something came over us. Let’s try a different approach instead. But, before doing so, we'll attach the following disclaimer: we in no way intend to portray ourselves as experts in the fields of brain science and/or human consciousness. We are merely writers and readers a...

 Orson's Publishing is Moving

The idea of home is one that writers for centuries have explored, wrestled with, deconstructed, and pieced back together. Some present the idea that it can only be one place, usually where you were born and/or raised, that there's no place like home, and that in some regards it can act as a sun -- your center as yo...
