"Just Saying"

I've discovered that blogging and tweeting is a whole other language in itself. Usually, I post inspirational quotes from my book or make positive comments in order to inspire and give hope to people but, I have learned that a lot of folks would rather be entertained with nonsense and foolishness than inspired by substance. They would much rather escape the reality of hope for themselves and instead take delight in hearing about what is negative in someone else's life, or the world in general. I guess blogs and tweets are supposed to be lighthearted and not so serious. For example, a friend of mine was walking his dog and passed a home with an address of 420. So he took a picture on his iphone and posted it. Of course, that simple picture immediately got rave reviews and tons of rhetorical comments. I later scurried through a few other tweets and blogs that were inspiring and potentially life-changing, but no one said a word. I just find it amazing that as much as we all need continuous positive change in our lives to grow and be healthy, the eyes and ears still uphold the delight of negativity. Though, I'm not saying a picture of a house address of 420 is negative. However, I am just saying that we are much deeper as a people and made up of much more than daily idioms.
