The past changed the future
… the future must salvage the past.
DJ, Matt, and Elisa are mostly normal teens. They have their friends, and their squabbles, and their dreams of the future. Yet, they are also very special teens, brought into this world to fulfill a prophecy made by an ancestor 200 years in their past. One of them dies, one receives incredible powers, and one discovers a place no one suspected she would have.
It was meant to be nothing more than a fun and adventurous spring break from the Beaufort School of Visionary Studies for triplets DJ, Matt, and Elisa. Little did they know that the prophecy made about them was about to catch up. When they are warned that Rogues have targeted them and their family, they go into hiding to protect everyone. But the Rogues have other plans. Can they make the right choices even though they know others will be hurt by their decisions? Even when one of those decisions means certain death?

Excerpt
He wakes with a sense of alarm racing through his body. For the fifth time this month, Dennis James Sullivan hears unseen callers in his head, but today is far different from any other.
At seventeen, he is taller than most boys his age. His dark red hair falls over his deep blue eyes. He shoves the hair back and leans his elbows against his knees. His whole body feels as if it belongs to someone else, what with his knees and elbows all knobby, and the way he constantly springs up another inch overnight. Not that that wasn’t normal, but then the voices began speaking to him, and he can’t make sense of it.

Excerpt
Paul Eberham stared out his bedroom window into darkness blanketed the North Georgia mountains. He shuddered when he felt surges of anger and fear through his magic.
It will happen tonight. I have to warn Jillian and Cerra. They need to hide.
The Edict, a law banning those possessing incredible powers from using them or attending school, driving a car, even having the rights of normal citizenship was going into effect. Even though he was a mere eight years of age, Paul was well aware of the damage this could cause humanity.
Jilly. Cerra-girl, can you hear me?

Excerpt
Southern pines rose well above the two boys hidden in the wooded area behind the small farmhouse. A gentle breeze blew across the tops of the trees bending them and swaying the upper trunks. Neither boy paid much attention after watching the action for a few moments. Both held sticks about two feet long and grinned at each other. Dust clouds rose from where they stood. At one end of the clearing, rocks lay scattered.
The taller boy’s skin resembled a rich cup of espresso. His companion’s complexion appeared so pale as to redden in the early spring sunshine breaking through the trees surrounding them. Shouts and laughter filled the air.
“I’ve got it,” the fair-skinned one called. “It’s not fair, Gordon. Your last three landed without a problem. You’ve been practicing.”

Excerpt
This station is so amazing. Even though my friends and I have only been living here for a short time, we’re treated as if we’ve been here forever. No one mentions that we were once part of Believers, for which we are very thankful.
“Sure wish we could be more a part of the team,” Kathe says. “It’s like they brought us here and we have to pretend like we never took care of those Believers on Starship Lyre.”
Kathe, LaTisha, and I have often commented on how the Canoples Investigations team seems to have a lot of adventures without us. Why, just two months ago, when Believers attempted to take over the station, BD, Carl, Cassie, and Terry, along with Jack and Mick, took off to Poseidon to deal with the Believers in charge there. They went nearly to the end of the galaxy, close to Pluto, and had a lot of fun before they came back to save the station.

My team and I are fast running out of supplies to sustain our search and we’ve all been stuck on this mid-sized ship so long that we’re ready to mutiny just for the chance to have a meal that doesn’t come out of a packet or a sonic shower that lasts more than forty-five seconds.

The ringmaster looks familiar, but the man swears that he has never been to Canoples Station before. Even worse, children five and under are disappearing. A bit of investigating on BD’s part clues him in to the fact this has happened on every station Space Dodger Space Circus has visited so far. The normal sounds of the promenade seem wrong. I have a sensation of impending doom, much like the moments before the space pirates showed up. The desire to leap into action is very strong, so much so that I’m literally leaning forward with my fists clenched at my side.
“Easy,” Carl murmurs. “You don’t know for sure it’s him.”
Of course, I know this man we’re watching is our quarry. How can I not know that? Not that his appearance is anywhere close to his daughter, who right now is aboard Fomalhaut for a very long stay. Erin Markus did lead Spacers Rule, a galaxy wide ring of splifters, but she wasn’t in charge.
Oh, no, she was far from in charge of those thieves. The person with that responsibility has just entered Canoples Station and is talking with none other than our less than ethical governor, but I have no definitive way of proving that.

There's a new crew in town, Spacers Rule, and they are putting Canoples Investigations through the hoops. In the two weeks since BD and his group of intrepid investigators took on the space pirates and aided in incarcerating them on the prison barge, Fomalhaut, the station has turned against them. Now, they have to prove they have exactly what it takes to compete as security consultants on the new industrial stations under construction, stop spacers rule from stealing anything not bolted down. Then there's the little matter of contaminated codos and re-kats, and Missy. Oh, yes, Missy is still around, and she's four now, and determined to be a junior BD.

“What do you think?” Terry asks. “Did we pass?”
Cassie snorts. Even though we’re now officially a couple, I give her a sideways crooked look. So what if she passed that test the first time without breaking a sweat? We guys have to keep up our reputation of not being able to land with those silly rules in place.
