This was a sampler of Ally Carter writing. There are three stories in this sample book with the first being a complete mini story and the other two just samples. Each story focuses on a different Gallagher Girl and full of teen espionage and intrigue with parents, boys, friends and school all tossed in for balance and good measure.

I liked each of the stories and the end of each was left wishing it was a full story. If spy thrillers, intrigue, flirting, wit and suspense are what you like, than this book will tease your palate and make you fan of Ally Carter.

This way my first read from Robin Jones Gunn and I enjoyed it. I am a lover of romance and I wasn't disappointed. Robin did a good job at keeping you wanting more but giving you just enough to keep reading. While there a few points I accuratelu guessed what would happen before I read it, I wasn't deterred from continuing to read because she made the journey to the obvious fun.

I love that the characters are Christians and it is woven into the theirs lives. There was a time or two I felt the Christianity forced into the that particular part of the book, but not enough to be annoyed. When Gunn did shed light of moral and Christian values it didn't feel preachy but wise. Even when the speaker at the camp spoke (preached) it read like a friend talking to another friend without judgement. I really enjoyed it.

There were times when I laughed out hysterically and times when I felt what the characters were described as feeling. All in all I liked the book and would read another one of her many books.

I found this book on sale at my local Christian Bookstore and since I love romance novels and sales, I jumped on it. I am a lover of Historical Fiction so this book was right up my alley.

Set in the late 1800s, the teen character Clara Carter (the heroine), lives in New York City and lives among the higher class of society.  Like most teen girls of any era, young men do capture her attention but she is also a deep and compassionate soul looking for more than a just a husband. She wants a life out of the ordinary.

The book while set over a hundred years ago doesn't get weighed down with language and references that most teen girls aren't interested in. Siri does a great job of focusing on the characters more than the time period. Her descriptions help create a clear picture of who, what and why. The novel came to life for me.
