Rifting Down the Mississippi

The Riftwas my biggest book in the most literal way. 310,000 words, about the size of A Game of Thrones, so large that it tested the limits of the bookbinder’s...

Vampire Slayer Classic

Last night’s party was on the theme of Dracula. A good many of Vlad’s victims were impaled on stakes in the pumpkin patch, eerie ghost lights shone in the trees, a witch’s cauldron burbled o...

Drawing Closer
Here we have a study for the upcoming re-release of my novelThe Rift, by the artist/designer Ares Jun.
This study for my earthquake novel was delayed because the part of the Philippines where Ares lives was hit by a 7.2 earthquake a few days ago. My heart goes out to the people of Bohol, who suffered over 100 dead and the destruction of many historical buildings.
InThe Rift, the characters are faced with the reality of a world, indeed a universe, where destruction and violence can happen at any...

Wedding Pictures
More pictures from the wedding mentioned in the last post.
I told you there was a Tardis rescue vehicle, now didn’t I?
And on the shoulder of the driver, we find a tattoo of the Tardis actually paid for by David Tennant.

Cake

I’ve been a mail-order minister for decades, and have had the pleasure of uniting various friends and acquaintances in matrimony. When I was asked to officiate at the wedding of a couple of people I knew only very slightly, I was happy enough to oblige. It was all kind of thrown together over a couple weeks, but it came together at the last minute the...

Wow. What happened tothat week?
Well, there was a wedding, and the tractor broke, and a birthday party, and game night, and karate class . . . so it was a busy week, in truth.
But what mostly happened was The Rift.
Yes, I’m finally getting my longest novel ready for e-publication. It’s something like 310,000 words long, more than three times the length of the average novel. It’s taken avery long time to edit it into shape, and there’s more editing left to do, but it should be available at your f...

Special Shapes
More photos from the Balloon Fiesta. The bees, which are very popular, are velcro’d together so that they fly holding hands, sometimes with a third Baby Bee between them. This time Baby got off the ground on his own, but the others skimmed the ground for a bit, then came to rest, un-velcro’d, and then were deflated. Baby joined them. I don’t know what went wrong, but maybe the wind forecast wasn’t good.
