Pretend its summer
I played a fun little game today called, “Let’s sit outside and pretend it’s summer.” With the cold snap well behind us and lowering temperatures coming, today was a beautiful day. Just perfect to sit outside. I worked on my website while I was out there. I finished the reconstruct about the time it was … Continue reading Pretend its summer

Black flower sun
Several months ago, I started working on this painting that would be a black lily-like flower against a sun. I got the sun all painted and was happy with the way it looked. I sketched the flower as I saw it in my mind. That was as far as I got when I showed it … Continue reading Black flower sun

Take your mark!
I just activated my pre-launch page for the Beat of the Drum Kickstarter. You can now follow the campaign if you wish. Still need to finish the cover of the book. I hope I can get to it on Saturday. That’s where I’m aiming right now. I’m very happy that this is moving in a … Continue reading Take your mark!

Got me thinking Kickstarters
Well, I have gotten sucked down the rabbit hole this morning. It started with listening to my mentor talking about planning and using it as motivation. Dang, he’s good. It worked. It got me thinking about the Make 100 Kickstarter coming up in January 2025. I had a successful campaign last January, and even though … Continue reading Got me thinking Kickstarters

Get in the game
Any Loki Adventure fans out there? I posted the story of the Ataraxis Tavern’s creation today on Patreon. It is a locked post, so you can only see it if you are at the Loki Love or higher level. It’s a cool little story because I had to find the original place that inspired the … Continue reading Get in the game

What’s the secret?
Rather than penning my blog with what I’d really like to write, I’m going to say that I often get asked what the secret of writing fiction is. There’s two secrets really and both are very simple and yet oh so difficult. Secret #1: write the next sentence. Yes, that’s very difficult to do. Sometimes, … Continue reading What’s the secret?

Sunny day
I’ve been trying to write this blog for three hours now. Very sad. Today’s been a bit of a struggle like that. It started with a headache that I tried to get rid of without taking medicine. I thought it was a headache, in my head — you know, the kind made by thoughts not … Continue reading Sunny day

A day lost
Aside from some audio work this morning, I’ve been lazy today. I went shopping and the traffic dragged on my energy because I’d gone so late in the day. I’d kept planning to get to writing, narrating, publishing, or something productive, but I just hadn’t done any of it. I’ve been watching Foundation instead. I … Continue reading A day lost

Day of people
Traveled today and took a different route than I normally would to get there. Beautiful landscape. Reminded me a lot of northern Nevada in the springtime. For a moment, I could forget that we are in the middle of a cold snap. Granted, the event I went to was mostly outside, and so it was … Continue reading Day of people

Cold snap: day 1 of 3
Today’s cold snap proved that I am not nearly ready for winter. Yesterday it was in the low 70’s. Today, I think the high was around 49 degrees. It’s supposed to be freezing by morning. I’m not ready. I’m am ready to go to my summer home in the other hemisphere. Has that happened yet? … Continue reading Cold snap: day 1 of 3
