Child in the woods, child in the world

There’s a child, a child in the woods. Little, wandering, wondering. There are dancing footsteps, crunching on twigs, dancing. Dancing, dancing, dancing. Moonlight crawls across the sky. Much slower than the clouds it goes. Whispers, hear them. Over here. Over there. Silent hushes of the haunted watching the child wandering, dancing. Little lost in the … Continue reading Child in the woods, child in the world

Story organization

Another day while I was writing between interruptions. But today I didn’t get as much done. I had to take a moment to update Plottr with information, as well as to dig back through a couple of books for that information. Let me just say that I love Plottr. I’ve been using it since it … Continue reading Story organization

A short story finished

Feeling pretty good today. I managed to get over 1,500 words written in-between three meetings this morning. Better yet, I finished my short story I’ve been working on, so I can talk about it now. Many years ago, I was walking around the grocery store and I saw a man at the deli. From behind, … Continue reading A short story finished

Say what about the time?

I lost an hour and almost didn’t realize it. Dang time change. This time (ha!) it snuck up on me. Seriously, I didn’t realize we’d had a time change until this afternoon. I felt like it was awfully early when I was getting up, but my clocks and pets were telling me to get up. … Continue reading Say what about the time?

Delinquent

Today I’ve pretty much been delinquent in my life. I’m sure it called and I played hooky. What can I say? It was a beautiful day out and I wanted to sit out in the sun for a while, so I did. Now it’s not like I did nothing all day. I did my shopping … Continue reading Delinquent

A normal closing

Change of tires. Visit to the library and a coffee shop. A writers’ meeting. Journaling with words and pictures to disrupt long-held and deep-rooted beliefs. A little raw right now, but stronger tomorrow. It has definitely not been a normal day. At least the blogging gives me a normal closing to the night. Cheers.

Repainting

I had to repaint the flower on the smaller painting I’m working on. It was not right. So, I redid it. The second time, the color is better, but I overdid it a bit. Now, I’m waiting to see if I try it one more time (third time’s the charm) or if I work with … Continue reading Repainting

On Account of Rain

I’m working at rolling out the 3rd of my Fenrir’s Tales short stories. I modified the title a little because it didn’t fit right on the book cover. (grin) Such is the way it is. Here’s a sneak peek at that cover: A little about the story: Nearly every day, Loki meets with Jason. But … Continue reading On Account of Rain

Old cars rolled home

I am reworking my discipline right now. Disciplines become habits. I know I need to grow. I need to work on old cars I wish to keep around. I want to see those old cars fixed up and being out on the road. I found myself getting so excited when I saw how to work … Continue reading Old cars rolled home
