New Release – Escape by Annabelle Jacobs

One of the nicest things about being part of this community is that sometimes you get to read books while they are still under construction. It’s particularly exciting to be in at the beginning of a brand new series.

Wishing Annabelle all the very best of luck today, as Escape, book one of the Rebellion series, goes live!

The Price of Knowledge

mueum storage facility stacked with boxesI’ve been trying to thin out some of our stuff mountains at work. See the photo to our left – that’s well ordered museum storage. Some of our museum is very like that with dexion shelves stacked with neatly labelled boxes. But there are other parts where we have boxes, bags, envelopes, and brown paper packages tied up in string of donated items that we are processing and finding safe homes for. Since we went over to lone working, had our hours cut and our volunteers only come in one morning a...

Something for next year’s diary

Put a star in your diary by 22nd February, 2020.

This is when the next ShiMMer event will take place. A whole day dedicated to just MM Romance, with various entertainments and a wide variety of authors, from the very biggest UK names in the genre to – well – me. I’ve booked a table too. Just need to get some books to put on it and oodles of the type of swag that readers are less likely to bin

Author Interview – Sarah Ash

I’ve always felt very privileged to host authors on my site, especially when it gives me a chance to meet new people. Sarah Ash has just had her first historical novel published with Manifold Press, though she is no stranger to the book world having many very enticing fantasy series listed on her website, and I hope we will soon see more from her.

Thank you Sarah, for answering my questions so kindly.

1/Have you been writing for long? Do you still remember your first story?

I’ve been writing...

Available in KU for a limited time – the Railers novellas by RJ Scott and VL Locey

I’m delighted to be hosting RJ and VL today as a celebration of their ice hockey series about the Railers team. It’s always sad when a series ends, but it’s something to celebrate too as the authors go on to explore the lives of new characters. So let’s hear how the Railers stories came to be and wish all the beloved characters well.

R J Scott’s Autism Blog Hop

As I imagine everyone in the genre knows by now, April is Autism awareness month, and therefore time again for R J Scott’s amazing Blog Hop event. Click on the image to the left to go to her masterpost.

We start with a fact:

34% of children on the autism spectrum say that the worst thing about being at school is being picked on.

Children can be very unforgiving of other children who don’t conform to the world view that they are just beginning to formulate for themselves with the help of paren...

Re-release of one of my favourite thrillers

I think we all have favourite books that stay with us for a long time. This is one of my top reads, and also one that made it a little hard for me to sleep at night because ooh boy some bits are viscerally upsetting. But there’s a happy ending too, and that’s important.
