Doubts

I start today by having doubts about the storyline that I am well over 50,000 words into. An author friend of mine once said to beware of a storyline where you love the subject matter so much that you can't see past it. I am wondering if that is where I'm at since I'm having such trouble putting it down on paper. I've sent it to friend for a reality check. I'll guess we'll find out soon enough!

Book Signing

My first book signing went smoothly this weekend. It was located at Hastings. Continuing to work on my newest novel, the story line centers around a Russian serf and, of course, vampires! I will be reworking the first chapter tonight. I read it for the first time yesterday evening and it sounded more like a history lesson. While in Alaska, I had spent quite a bit of time researching so my facts were in order but it sounded just like that: facts.
Thanks for the sound advice earlier in the week, Nicole!

Second Novel

Continuing to work on my second vampire novel which is set in Alaska. Really trying to get that creepy feel since this is based on old Russian legends. I don't have quite as much time with my current story as there is so much marketing to do with the first! I need to set a word count goal but that seems so counter creative. Any opinions?
