I feel strongly that the West in general and Americans in particular need to know more about the history of other parts of the world. That belief is often reflected in the topics I choose to write about, whether I'm working on a

“Influenced by the European depression of 1873, Kautsky’s writings depict a capitalist system spiraling toward its death. He emphasized the inevitability of the eventual triumph of socialism and rejected the fundamental premises of social democracy. He argued that the role of a socialist party was not to create a transition to socialism, but to educate workers about the nature of capitalism and prepare them for the class struggle that would bring about its demise.”
