ECHO is DONE!
Yippee, typed 'The End' for ECHO earlier! At almost 110k, it's shorter than other Lore books, but I'm happy with it. Now the edits start …
To have images or not, that is the next question. Here's the latest two I've added to the narrative, but seriously, all may end up removed. Not too big a fan of images in fiction, other than a decent map in Fantasy books (which I still need to do). We'll see :)
Also, here's the blurb as it is at the moment:
Becareful of what you wish for.
The worldLuvanor has four continents, but the small one in the south remains abandonedafter massive volcanic eruptions destroyed the land a long time ago, creatingsimultaneously an impassable trench in the ocean few dare cross.
Abandoned.Uninhabited. Perhaps dangerous. The type of adventure Echayn Valla, aka Echo, goes in search of, hoping to discover remains from that bygone era, or perhapshe hopes to find something new about himself.
Don’t theysay be careful of what you wish for? Echo is about to embark on the greatest misadventureof his life. Nothing is as it seems, as he will soon realise. Join him now fora journey of discovery that will test his wits, his strength … and his heart.
This isalso a love story.

Blacktop in a Red Wood
MORNING LIGHT FILTERED through the canopy and birds sang greeting.
Ben stretched afteruncurling from his hollow in the damp soil along the verge. Body heat had madethe indentation for him. He hadn’t dared the wood behind. He doubted there werepredators, but rather safe than not.
Wisps of mist floatedlike white ethereal arms about the tree trunks. It was so silent he feltentirely alone. But for wildlife, no one else lived in this world. Except awoman in a cottage not far away. North, a few miles.
He turned to gaze inthat direction. A hollow feeling erupted in his stomach, and it had nothing todo with hunger.
Slinging his rucksackover one shoulder, he started walking.
There was no sign a carhad ever passed here during the night.
Alayna lives as a recluse in the giant redwood forest far fromprying eyes. When intruders break into her home with the intention of robbingand using her, a man with vivid green eyes becomes an unlikely saviour. Theinstant they see each other their fates are sealed. Ben and Alayna have thekind of attraction that reeks of a celestial mandate.
She realises what Ben truly is, but he’s too young to knowhis real self. She sends him away to discover his destiny, telling him to playthe music able to move stars, and awaits his return. Their attraction, though,is so visceral and overwhelming that Ben comes back again and again, each time findingit harder to leave the only woman who has ignited his soul.
Alayna feels it too, because Ben possesses a kiss able tobreak worlds. His green eyes are an ethereal magnificence amid the redwoods, lighting the way for love, music, dreams and destiny to mark their paths, butsuch a connection has a price.ETHEREAL MUSICIAN
