Soul Control and Reflection

As I prepare for the launch of Soul Control on December 1, 2012, I find myself reflecting back.  It is exactly three years ago this month that my writing career began.  At this time that year, Absolute Obsession was only a story my mind told, it hadn't yet been put on paper or, as it is these days, on the computer.  I remember feeling overwhelmed almost to the point of bursting with words rambling around in my head.  That hasn't changed much since, except when they do start, I write them down immediately.

I am very proud of myself for how far I have come, but most of all I feel very blessed to have the people and readers in my life that I do, for if it wasn't for all of you I wouldn't be the person I am and my characters quite possibly would have been silenced forever.

I am very excited to see Soul Control in print, it is one of my favorites -- not that I play favorites.

Have a great day.

Remebrance Day - Lets Not Forget In Flanders Field

Today is the day to remember our fallen and our soldiers who are still out there fighting for, not only our freedom, but peace for the whole world.  Let's not forget ever, everyday should have one thought for each and every one of them.

In Flanders Fields
By:  Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD  (1872-1918)
Canadian  Army

In Flanders  Fields the poppies blow

Between the crosses row on  row,
That mark our place; and in the  sky
The larks, still bravely singing,  fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw  sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we  lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up  our  quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands  we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it  high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

15 Minutes of Fame

This past Saturday morning I opened my newspaper to find an article written by Scott Hayes about Absolute Obstruction -- it was a thrill and was my next fifteen minutes of fame.  I may not have constant fame coming my way, but I'll take fifteen minutes at a time.  Enjoy!!!

Mystical Magic

Picture I find it somewhat mystical seeing  things in print that came from a folder on my computer -- it's truly humbling.

And I even find it more mystical that I forgot an important quote that I wrote for  the very last words in Absolute Obstruction -- ones that were wrote for  Rose:

When one opens their heart

They open the door for all
To step in and enjoy the light
That is Love
~ Me

Never ceases to amaze me what the mind can come up with.  :)

The Age of Innocence

It was Thanksgiving this past weekend and I certainly do have a lot to be thankful for, but  one thing stood out.  On Sunday I was working on my little notebook, the computer I use for all my writing and books, well due to some circumstances, the screen went all wonky and it was unusable, I couldn't get to any of my stuff.  Needless to say, the computer almost got thrown out a window, then a few choice were said, while I stomped up the stairs and for my grande finale' I slammed my bedroom door and started to cry.

My beautiful three year old granddaughter, not being swayed in any way at my outburst, came right in, put her hands on my legs, and looked up at me through her eyelashes and said, "What wrong grandma?"  Then without me answering she scrambled up onto my knee and cuddled in.  When I told her that I was sad because I didn't know how hard it would be to get my books back, she easily said, "That's okay you can have some of mommy's off her computer."  She made me laugh and in that innocence of hers, made realize what was most important.  That wasn't the end of our conversation, she continued jabber on in her animated way, using her facial expressions to give effect -- she made the world right simply being her.

Have a great day!

ABSOLUTE OBSTRUCTION

Picture Well the day has come -- Absolute Obstruction is released.  It has been a wonderful journey these past months and little crazy to say the least. But you won’t catch me complaining, because everything that has happened is what I wanted.  Below is the book blurb for Absolute Obstruction.  Thank you all for all your support.

BLURB:

Being lonely isn’t anything new for 45 year old Rose Terrance.  After all, that’s what she signed up for when she married beautiful, 33 year old movie star, Michael Terrance and in spite of her loneliness, their love stays strong.  However, their love, nor Michael’s vehement overprotectiveness, can shield Rose from a threat that is beyond Michael’s comprehension, one that annihilates his heart and lines his soul with guilt.

Michael has murderous intentions that lead him to a place he has already asked Rose to forgive him for, taking the phrase “I would die for you” to the extreme.

It keeps getting better and better

Well, the New York Pitch Conference is looming and I've managed to finish everything... I think.  It's quite possible that isn't true, simply because the second I review the Pitch again, it may change.  Fingers crossed that it doesn't.

Now onto the other good news;  my YA Paranormal Romance, Soul Control will be published in December, 2012.  Life has blessed me with wonderful people and no matter how busy I get with writing -- it is my passion and exactly what I asked for.  It truly can't any better than this.  Watch for the book cover, the blurb and teaser for Soul Control, in the next couple of weeks.

Wishing you all the dream you never you knew you had, because, I'm living proof it can happen.

Have a great week!

New York Here We Come!!!!

The tears are falling... a world has been brought together, characters' lives have been documented and it is only with these two words that their world and their lives can come alive in the readers' minds... "The End".  Gavri and Jolecia's tale in Shadows to Eternity has been written!

Over the Rainbow: As a Writer are you Willing to Reach Out

Another Article I wrote as first published by Blogcritics -- enjoy:

When we hear the phrase “over the rainbow” it automatically summons the thought of somewhere unreachable, perhaps even untouchable, yet we all hope it exists, some even believe that it does. What if “over the rainbow” did exist? What if it wasn’t a mere fabrication from a song, but an inspiration for reality? If that’s true, we must look at the phrase in a completely different light.

To be able to fly, we must grow wings and to grow wings, we must listen carefully to that which can take us there – our intuition. When we’re young, we have intuition abound, then as we grow up, we’re constantly told, taught and advised to use our brain, not to listen to that little voice that has our gut rolling.

We all find contentment in our lives as time goes on, never questioning, nor doubting and settle into our lives as we know it, in other words a routine, regardless of who we are or what walk of life we come from, our lives are...our lives. However the difference between the average and the movers and shakers, is the ability to feel outside that life. The question is, are you willing?

Can you step out of that comfort zone to challenge your normal? Are you willing to take the other road to find the dream, even though at that moment, it’s the unknown to you?

If you can, I will guarantee that you'll throw your world off kilter and in a moment, it may seem dire to all who are in your life and to the ones you love. Yet if you have patience and understanding on your side, the rocks, dust and stones will slowly disappear, leaving behind a smooth path, where you can tug on the hands of those you love, enticing them to follow and eventually you won’t need to wish upon a star to fly over the rainbow.
