Revised & Updated Paint It Black Available From Premier Digital Publishing!

After decades spent roaming the globe in search for the undead monster
who created her, vampire/vampire-hunter Sonja Blue has finally found in
the psychic detective Palmer and the unearthly child called Lethe a
family she can call her own. But the new world she has created for
herself is forever changed by a brief affair in New Orleans that ends in
madness and death, and leave the Other—the murderous, demonic aspect of
her fractured personality—stronger than ever. When Sonja receives news
that Sir Morgan is behind a string of murders of women found wearing
sunglasses and leather jackets, she abandons her ‘family’ for New York
City. Once she is face-to-face with the evil vampire lord,
will she finally be able to destroy him once and for all? Or will she
succumb to the darkness within her and become his queen?

This ebook edition of PAINT IT BLACK is updated and heavily revised and is now the author's preferred text. It also features an original cover by the talented graphic artist Sean Hartter, who passed away earlier this year.

Celebrate Halloween With ABSALOM'S WAKE 1-3 for FREE on Kindle--Limited Time Only!

ABSALOM'S WAKE: A Serial Adventure On The High Seas

Young
Jonah Padgett, fascinated by the romance of the open sea, signs on to
the whaler Absalom, under the command of Captain Solomon. Upon rounding
the Horn, the crew hears stories of a whale said to be as big as a
mountain with skin as black as a bible, and in command of a harem of a
hundred females. Captain Solomon wagers that his crew will be the one to
make its fortune hunting down the elusive, so-called King Jim. But when
the Absalom signs on the native called Koro as a harpooner, the ship finds itself
beleaguered by inexplicable disappearances and horrific death, which
pits shipmate against shipmate for fear of their lives. While trying to
clear Koro of suspicion, Jonah soon finds himself adrift in a
fantastical world filled with dolphin-like merfolk and nightmarish
were-sharks, endangered equally by inhuman creatures from the ocean’s
depths and human fear and superstition, his very life at the mercy of
something as old and mysterious as the sea itself.

In Celebration of Halloween, Biting Dog Publications is making ABSALOM'S WAKE Parts 1-3 Available FOR FREE on the Kindle.

ABSALOM'S WAKE Part 5: THE OCEAN BORN is now available on Kindle.

LEGENDS OF RED SONJA: A 40th Anniversary Tribute

Dynamite Comics is announcing Legends of Red Sonja, an all-star, all-woman sword & sorcery jam to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic She-Devil With A Sword, at this weekend's Comic Con.

The brain-child of renown comics writer Gail Simone (Batgirl,Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman, Deadpool, Secret Six), the new scripter on the rebooted monthly series from Dynamite, Legends of Red Sonja is a mini-series that brings together such diverse talents as Marjorie M. Liu (The Hunter Kiss series), Mercedes Lackey (The Valdemar Series),Kelly Sue DeConnick (Captain Marvel, Ghost),Rhianna Pratchett (Mirror's Edge), Leah Moore (Albion, Tom Strong, The End Is Nigh), Tamora Pierce (The Song of the Lionesss series), Blair Butler (Host of MSN's Nerdcore), Meljean Brook (The Guardian series), Nicola Scott (Birds of Prey, Secret Six), Devin Grayson (Gotham Nights, Titans, Nightwing), and myself, Nancy A. Collins (Swamp Thing, The Sonja Blue Series, Vamps, The Golgotham Series)

I have been a fan of Robert E. Howard's work ever since I first picked up a copy of Roy Thomas & Barry Smith's CONAN THE BARBARIAN #23 from the spinner rack at the Sunflower Grocery Store in McGehee, Arkansas, 40 years ago. It would prove not only to be my introduction to the sub-genre known as sword & sorcery, but to the wider world of the old pulps, in particular WEIRD TALES, which lead to my discovery of such writers as H.P. Lovecraft, Frtiz Leiber, Clark Ashton Smith, Leigh Brackett, Robert Bloch, and, eventually, more contemporary fantasy writers such as Michael Moorcock and Karl Edward Wagner. I am honored to have been given a chance to add to Red Sonja's mythos and give back to a character that proved so pivotal in my own development as a writer.
