You may not have heard of her—she’s from across the pond—but you should. Lee Child—you know, of the Jack Reacher fame—called Zoe’s intrepid heroine, Charlie Fox, a “female Jack Reacher.” Got your attention yet? Check out her books here

The View from Here
THIS REALLY IS INCREDIBLE! Early reviews for my new novel, BLOOD ON THE CHESAPEAKE, are starting to come in and you’re not going to believe this first one. William Kent Krueger, winner of the Edgar Award (for best mystery book of the year) and author of numerous New York Times best-sellers including 17 entries in the Cork O’Connor series wrote: “BLOOD ON THE CHESAPEAKE is a tale to be savored in a darkened room, with an eye to the possibilities lurking just out of sight.” And this is only one line of his comments on my new book. When I received his review, I was blown away. I mean, this is an author who knows mystery and suspense like no one else. I collected some of his novels from my own shelves and the library just to show and wow! If you’re not yet familiar with his books, you’re really missing out. In most of his novels, he uses the rugged outdoors of his northern Minnesota homeland as the setting, and as you read, you’ll be transported to these incredible vistas of frozen snow, shimmering lakes, and desolate mountains. His stories are always more than just fun reads, though they are that. Like I did in BLOOD ON THE CHESAPEAKE, he uses his mysteries to explore critical social issues, like the battle over immigration in his recent entry, SULFUR SPRINGS. Click here to check out his impressive titles. You won’t be sorry you did. It means a great deal to earn the appreciation and respect of accomplished writers like Kent Krueger. Here’s his full review as it will appear in the publications and within the pages of the novel: “For those who enjoy a mixed bag in the books they read, Randy Overbeck has performed a nifty literary feat. Within a web woven of threads from a number of genres—a bit of romance, a lot of mystery, and a good deal of old-fashioned ghost whispering—he’s written a pretty solid social commentary. BLOOD ON THE CHESAPEAKE is a tale to be savored in a darkened room, with an eye to all the possibilities lurking just out of sight. The first of three in a projected trilogy, it’ll be a hard wait for the books that follow.” As always, thanks for reading. And be sure to check out William Kent Krueger's works.
