Six Sentence Sunday: Longing (WT) #sixsunday

My six sentences this week come from a WIP short story I have been working on when I need a break from other projects. I write erotica, folks, so the below entry is for MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY.

Happy Sunday!

Sitting in my soccer mom minivan, hands so tight on the steering wheel my knuckles are white, the revelation comes.

 I want to be used.

Not asked nicely, no romance or sweetness. In the pit of my stomach, I know what I want. Someone to grab a handful of my hair, force me to my knees and command me to obey with a dark look and a commanding voice. My stomach burns with my need for it.

I am always interested in your feedback, comments and thoughts on the exceprts I post for Six Sentence Sunday. Be sure to stop by the other sites in this weeks Six Sentence Sunday list.

Six Sentence Sunday: Just a Little Something #sixsunday

#sixsunday

I am a little behind schedule this week, so the Sunday Six for me this time is from a WIP fantasy story that I am really hoping to complete before the end of the year. Comments and thoughts are always welcome. Thanks for stopping by :)

Concentrating with her one good eye, she [Ana] looked around the chamber. A single torch near the heavy metal door gave the chamber its only light. The large stone room contained four rotted and stained mattresses, one in each corner. The rest of the room lay vacant, except for a small wooden table on wheels a dozen feet from where she'd been chained, and the squeaking rodents scurrying from dark corner to dark corner. Ana strained to see what the cart held, but it was on her left and she couldn't make out more than its basic shape. In the absence of facts, her mind raced with sinister possibilities.

Now Available at Smashwords.com: ACE in the Hole

NOW AVAILABLE AT SMASHWORDS.COM

ACE in the Hole:

Twenty year old, Marley Drake is smokin' hot and she knows it. In search of her next Sugar Daddy, Marley hits a trendy downtown bar with her best friend, Amy. What she finds may just be the jackpot–if she can get past the fact that he's at least three times her age and a bit creepy. She realizes Professor VonHessen is much more than he appears when he introduces her to his robotics masterpiece, ACE; an anatomically correct android built for sex.

ACE in the Hole is available from Smashwords.com and will soon also be available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble websites.

Six Sentence Sunday: ACE in the Hole #sixsunday

I've decided to take one of my erotic short stories and self publish it with Smashwords. I even dug out my old copy of Paint Shop Pro and downloaded some images to work with from iStockphoto.com. I haven't done graphics work in a while. I have to say, I really enjoyed it.

Anyway, here is my six sentences– from ACE in the Hole, my soon to be published erotic e-book.

The unlikely pair stepped out into the brisk night air. A sleek black limo pulled up to the curb, as if the driver knew when they would emerge.

Marley lifted a brow. She didn't know many geeks with stretch limos. A tingle ran along her flesh. Jackpot.

Hey Look! I Made an eBook Cover

So, I did it. I got out the imaging software and dusted off my account at istockphoto.com and came up with a cover for my erotic piece – ACE in the Hole.

What do you think?

Six Sentence Sunday: Ace in the Hole (WT) #sixsunday

Just subbed this story out. Will have to see if she flies or falls. This is from an erotic story, so may not be suitable for young readers.

Always interested in your thoughts.

Marley let her hand slide across the seat until her fingertips caressed the fabric of the professor's pants. She walked her fingernails up his thigh and gave his wretched, limp cock a light squeeze. Marley moved her glass to his until they met with a soft clink. "To a night of passion."

The professor chuckled and winked at her. "Ambitious little gem, aren't you?"

Review: The Glass Man by Jocelyn Adams

The Glass Man

The Glass Man by Jocelyn Adams

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a fantastic ride!

Lila Gray is snarky, sarcastic and ballsy. A winning combination for any leading lady to my thinking. A lover of both fairy tales and fantasy, The Glass Man delivered in spades. Ms. Adams gives us a wonderfully detailed glimpse into her dystopian world while still holding true to the established lore surrounding the fae and their societal structures.

Lila's "hunter" and nemesis, Parthalan is sexy, dark and devious. *licks lips* I guy you really hate to love. While his pain loving sidekick, Rourke is the perfect blend of powerful foe and twisted lunatic. I think he just might be my favorite character in the novel, aside from Lila, of course.

Toss in Lila's love interest, Liam–a brooding farmer with a secret–and let the sparks fly.

I try not to toss in story details when I write my reviews to avoid spoiling anything for the readers. You will just have to get this one for yourself to see how it all comes together. Suffice to say, I loved this novel and highy recommend it for anyone. It is a must read for any lover of fantasy or romance.

About the only negative I could mention was the fact that it came to an end. If I didn't know there were at least two more Lila Gray novels to come from Jocelyn Adams, I might just be upset about that.

Review: Mile 81

Mile 81

Mile 81 by Stephen King

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

At $5.99 for the ebook download, I really expected a novel instead of a short story. I can't even call it a novella — it was that short.

The story was interesting and I did enjoy the read, but I have to say it was missing some of the dark sparks I expect from Mr. King. Not so much a disappointment for me, as just *meh, it was okay*

Hoping the novel due out in November has more of what I read Stephen King novels for, originality and dark twist you dont see coming.

Six Sentence Sunday: Blood and Fire

For my first Six Sentence Sunday on the new blog, I thought I would toss out six sentences from my published short story, Blood and Fire. Just a little something to heat you up on a chilly Sunday morning. (I'd rate it a PG at worst — so safe enough for general audiences)

Enjoy!

Bartholomew patted Kevin on the shoulder. "She's in good hands, my friend. Come by on Monday, and I'll take a look at your prospectus." He reached up and hooked a finger in the ring of my collar, yanking me toward him.

I stumbled, falling against his hard chest, the skin to skin contact searing my flesh. My eyes jerked up to meet his, my breath hitched. God, I want you.

Attention Erotica Writers: Call for Submissions

I found this in my web trolling today and thought I would share in case anyone out there was interested. If you do submit, I would love to hear about your success (or failures) and your impressions of the publisher. I have not worked with them.

I'd thought about doing something for this, since I LOVE FANTASY — however I have made myself a vow that I shall start no new projects until both of my current WIP's are complete (hopefully before the end of 2011).

Anyway, here is the information:

Writers call for submissions: Kingdoms of Desire: Erotic Tales of Fantasy – an anthology edited by Mitzi Szereto To be published by Cleis Press in autumn 2012.

Kingdoms of Desire: Erotic Tales of Fantasy is a place where lust and legend abound, and adventure, passion and danger entwine. Think mystical lands and creatures, kings and queens, knights and renegades, heroes and villains, warlords, maidens and princesses. Think battles and danger, honor and dishonor, good and evil. Most of all think hearts filled with passion and secret desire. This is a place where romantic chivalry is alive and well, but so too is romantic wickedness. This is a place where the good do not always win, and the bad are often more captivating and desirable than their altruistic counterparts. In these lush and timeless landscapes, the battle for flesh can be as important as the battle for power. Intrigue, sorcery, revenge, lawlessness, dark secrets and mysterious elixirs; entanglements with supernatural beings – everything is possible in these magical mythical landscapes. Think Game of Thrones and you get the picture!

Word count: 3,000 to 6,000 words.

What I'm looking for: Well-developed story lines and well-crafted prose told in a unique voice and containing interesting characters and settings. Think atmosphere, passion, desire… imaginative steamy tales that transport the reader to fantastical realms. Stories from female and male writers are welcome, as are stories containing characters of any sexual orientation.

Note: Although sexually explicit content is acceptable as well as a more subtle approach, absolutely no stock sex scenes or formulaic writing/terminology. Please refer to my previous anthologies (especially Red Velvet and Absinthe: Paranormal Erotic Romance) to get an idea of the variety and style of content I look for. Even though the stories need to have a strong element of eroticism and sensuality to them, I do not want stories that are one-dimensional sex stories or smut. The erotic element is an important part of the story, but it should not be the sole basis for the story or a replacement for plot and character development.

No reprints (be it print, digital, or online). Original fiction only.

Payment: One-time payment in the range of USD $50-70 (payable on publication) and 2 copies of the anthology.

Submission requirements: Stories must be formatted as follows: double-spaced Arial 12-point black font Word or RTF document (sent as an attachment). Indent the first line of each paragraph by half an inch. Do not add extra lines between paragraphs or irregular spacing between words. American spelling and punctuation only (i.e. quote marks, etc). Include your legal name (and pseudonym if applicable), postal address, and a fifty-word maximum author bio written in the third person. Contract is for one-time, non-exclusive anthology rights with one year's exclusivity from date of publication. (This may be waived if your story is selected for a "Best Of" collection).

No simultaneous submissions please.

In the subject line of your email, please state: Kingdoms of Desire

Send to: submissions @ mitziszereto.com

Submission deadline: December 15, 2011. (Stories will be read on an on-going basis, so early submissions are highly encouraged.) I look forward to reading your work!
