How Do You Feed Your Fiction Addiction?

So, how do you feed your fiction addiction? I asked this question when I first started publishing and I was quite surprised by the outcome. Now, a few years later, I’m curious to see how much things have changed. From the options below, please select how you prefer to feed your fiction addiction.

Is This New Wave of Adult Coloring Just a Fad?

As some of you may already know, I have put out a few adult coloring books. I didn’t do this because adult coloring books are trending like crazy right now. They’ve been trending for a while, actually. I created them because I’ve always wanted to do it!

About fifteen years ago, I was in collage for graphic design, and at the time, I thought it would be a wonderful idea to create a coloring book for adults, with intricate designs such as Celtic knots and mandalas. However, when I expressed this desire to a couple people, though I did receive some blasé encouragement, I allowed the few naysayers to discourage me, which is totally, one-hundred present, all on me. My bad for not following my instincts, because now they are the height of chicitude (a word I just made up now)

So I did it because I don’t want to look back and say I wish I had…yada, yada, yada. But is the fad at its peak? Are coloring books, like so many other fads, going to fad in popularity soon?

I hope not. Not because I’ve published some adult coloring books, but because I simply love coloring. I’ve visited a few coloring book groups and the comradery, encouragement, and all out positivity is through the roof. Coloring book people are plain wonderful, and just like my romance readers, I hope they just can’t get enough!

Steampunk: Birth of a Trend

I love everything steampunk, from the faction to the fiction to the retro-futuristic gadgets and everything in between. So it’s no wonder I decided to incorporate a small bit of steampunk into my latest novel, A WICKED DESIRE, from my dark fantasy series Creatures of Darkness (COD). The story follows Coraline Conwell, a witch, orphaned at a young age, trying to find her way through a new-to-her paranormal world.

The COD world is set in the future after decades of war has basically ripped the world a new one, and reduced much of America to third world country status. Though I call it a dark fantasy, there is a lot of romance and sexy vampires, and my heroine, Coraline, is not involved with only one man.

In A WICKED DESIRE, I introduce one of the most iconic symbols of steampunk, the air ship, where much of the plot takes place. I had so much fun researching airships and figuring out how to seamlessly draw this aesthetic into the story without it overpowering the focus. Below is a fun info graphic: Steampunk, Birth of a Trend.

11 things you should know about the Pisces in your life

Born between February 19 and March 20, Pisces are a compassionate, creative, accepting, and devoted bunch. However, if you’re a Pisces you know it’s easy to be misunderstood, even by those who are closest to you.

Here are 11 things you should know about the Pisces in your life
11 things you should know about the Pisces in your life

1. We are brilliant listeners

Pisces are able to understand, sympathize and have pretty spot on instinct when it comes to solving problems. We love to help other people. But we’ll notice if our help is not appreciated or reciprocated, so don’t just use a Pisces for you own needs.

2. We can be indecisive

We love to help others make choices and decisions by giving advice, but when it comes to our own lives, we are just unable to commit to a decision. So please be patient with us if we can’t make up our minds.

3. We live in a dream world

We love to walk with our head in the clouds and live in our own little fantasy world sometimes. We might have a faraway look about us occasionally – don’t worry we’re not actually ignoring you!

4. We go through periods of not having much to say

We can go through these stages of not wanting to say much, and then days later we can speak until the cows come home. This doesn’t mean we’re in a mood though, we just need some peace and quiet.

5. Reality vs fantasy

We dream big and believe that anything is possible. We’ll support you and help you but sometimes we might need a reality check.

6. We love to be alone

We have such a strong inner self that sometimes we want nothing more than to be by ourselves. Give us our alone time and we’ll come back replenished to love you that little bit more.

7. We sulk

It’s true, we are quick to sulk. But we’re just as quick to get over it so we won’t stay mad at you for long.

8. We love love

Pisces have so much love to give. We’re great in relationships and love giving and receiving affection. We are at our most charming and loving around people we know well but can feel nervous around strangers and afraid to make the wrong first impression.

9. Experience seekers

We are constantly on the lookout for new experiences and of course we need a partner in crime to join us for these new challenges. So if you’ve got a sense of adventure too, we’ll have a great time.

10. Everyone is accepted

Pisces automatically expect the best out of people, and we are generally quite shocked when this isn’t always the case. We see the good in people so please don’t take advantage of our accepting nature.

11. So what if we cry?

Pisces can be oversensitive. We are a creative, sensitive group of fish, and words cut hard. We are tuned in to emotions so we’ll always be understanding in a crisis.

Does this describe you or anyone you know?

A Wicked Desire Cover Reveal and Giveaway!!!

Yippee! Finally I have a release date for A WICKED DESIRE.

On sale April 27th 2016!!!!

I cannot express how excited I am for this cover reveal. A WICKED DESIRE is the third installment in the steamy dark fantasy series, Creatures of Darkness, and one of my all-time favorites. Even though Knox is one of those pain in the ass characters that refuses to play well with others, he ended up taking me and Cora for a wild ride, and we finally get a little insight as to who he truly is; a trusted ally or a dangerous foe?

I stressed over the cover art on this one. I was torn between this and another version that had more of a purplish background. I almost went with the other one, then I got a second opinion. My sugar pie honey bunch thought this went better with the other two covers. So, decision made.

What do you think? Tell me in the comments below.

Now on to the Goodies

To celebrate the A WICKED DESIRE finally getting a release date I’m offering a killer giveaway with some fun prizes. Click below to enter. And don’t forget to pre-order your copy of A WICKED DESIRE.
