Year End News
December 14, 2019 --
This has been a really productive year for me, in more ways than one.
Five years ago I'd taken a long hiatus due to creativity burn-out and life changes. Back then I thought I'd never write again. Fast-forward to now, and I've published three books this year. It feels good. Sorry to flex.
As the release of Book 8 fast approaches, I would also like to announce a few things you can look forward to in 2020.
As of this month, I've signed with Cherry Hill Publishing for the...

Home Stretch
October 18th, 2019--
This has been a struggle, y'all.
Back in 2010 when I started writing The Antithesis (which later expanded to Hymn of the Multiverse), I remember being able to write for hours. You know when you get into a new game on a weekend, and you start in the morning and suddenly it's fucking 3AM and you've done absolutely nothing other than stare bleary-eyed at the television? You've got a headache and drank a case of dr. pepper, eaten an entire economy-size bag of sta...

Elegy Preview is Available for Readers
I've hit the halfway mark of my book, and to celebrate I've released the first 40 pages of Elegy free to download to my mailing list subscribers. Can't wait until the end of August? Hopefully this might keep you satiated a little while longer. Feedback is always welcome, and this is a rough draft so there might be a typo or two in there; sorry.
Those who are not subscribed to my mailing list may do so and download the preview here: BookHip.com/DTHZAK
Readers who are already subscribe...

Elegy Update #2
June 6, 2019 --
Well, the outline went south six chapters in. I kind of regret spending all that time making it. Note to self: fuck outlines.
As of now I’m about halfway into Elegy, and a few of you have sent emails asking who the main protagonist of it is. I haven’t responded to your emails because I was trying to be all mysterious about it to churn up excitement, but I think I’ve tortured you guys enough.
The main protagonist is Zira. Although he’s been a secondary character all throughout th...

Elegy (HotM #8) Update and Cover Reveal
March 17, 2019
I've completed the outline for half the book so far, and it's going pretty well. I set a goal to complete the book outline by March 31st and start the actual writing of it in April. If everything goes as it's supposed to, Elegy will be out for pre-order somewhere in late May or early June.
I don't have a blurb written yet, as that is usually the last thing I do in the writing process, but the premise is a Scholar is contracted to act as Warden to the Princess of an underdeve...

Elegy is now in progress
March 10, 2019
Now that the conclusion of the Dysphoria Arc is behind me, I've started outlining the debut novel in the Covenants Arc, titled Elegy. I'm a little burned out on serial arcs so I'll be releasing some stand-alone stories in the Hymn of the Multiverse next.
Technically the timeline is still linear, as Elegy takes place after Permanence (book 7) and is categorized as book 8 in HotM; however Elegy and the Covenants arc are different from The Antithesis or Dysphoria in that each instal...

Yeah, it's been a while. Sorry. I'm really bad at this social media/keeping everyone updated thing. I'm an INTJ female with mild social anxiety, so there's my excuse.
The real reason for the radio silence is that I've been busy. For those who don't know, I manage a Toxicology Lab as my day job and am the mother of an extremely active six year old boy. Between work, my son and all of his social/co-curricular activities and trying to put words-to-processor, I tend to forget abou...

On Writing Hymn of the Multiverse 6
October 29, 2018
It's been 5 months and 8 days since I started HotM 6, and it's been quite a roller coaster ride. When I started HotM back in 2011 I was still in university. With its subsequent reboot in 2014, I didn't have a demanding job yet and my son was barely a toddler.
Since then things have changed, I have changed, and the toll of attempting to write this increasingly complex arc has been heavier than I imagined. The Antithesis arc was fun, but Dysphoria is kind of laborious; yet I feel...
