Despair

Former owner Dora H. Breuer's name and date, 1907, along with this bit of verse:

Man-like is it to fall into sin,
Friend-like is it to dwell therein,
Christ-like is it for sin to grieve,
God-like is it all sin to leave.

Where unto is money good?
Who has it no wants hardihood,
Who has it has much trouble + care,
Who one has had it has despair.

Found written in "Marian Grey" by Mary J. Holmes. Published by New York Publishing, ca. 1907.
