Flash fiction for Boy Meets Boy Reviews' anniversary.

In our book community, we owe a lot to our wonderful review bogs, who support and entertain us, and find and review books for us. Boy Meets Boy Reviews is celebrating their 5th anniversary this month with short fiction from many M/M writers, plus a variety of giveaways and posts.

Yesterday, Kim Fielding started things off with a great little flash fiction. Today, I have a very short piece up for my picture prompt (content warning for slavery). There are book giveaways posted from Dreamspinner and others. Check it out, and head back throughout the month for more fun - https://boymeetsboyreviews.blogspot.c...

An introvert heading to GayRomLit

As I head to GayRomLit in Portsmouth VA I blogged on Love Bytes Reviews about being an introvert heading to a conference.

BTW - If you are at GRL and looking for me,
* I have an author lounge Thursday 9-9:45 am
* My Q&A session is Thurs at 3-3:15 pm
* I have another lounge Fri 10-10:45 am
* I'll be at the Indie bookselling table 3-4:30 Fri pm
* K-lee Klein has invited me to share her 10-minute Author Medley slot Friday evening - our slot is 10:05-10.15 pm
* I'll have a table at the book signing (open to the public) Sat 10-12:30

Of course, I'll be around at other times, although possibly in the corners of rooms. Say hi if you see me there.

Love and Lint Rollers available for preorder

Love and Lint Rollers by Kaje Harper I'm chuffed (I love that word, UK slang for being pleased about something) that I managed to get Love and Lint Rollers up on Amazon in good time and available for preorders. I've never done preorders with my self-pub books before so I will be interested to see how it works out. Hopefully it also means that the book will drop on the designated date so I won't be on the "waiting for Amazon" hook on Oct 9th.

Love and Lint Rollers - cover reveal

My next book - Love and Lint Rollers has a wonderful cover thanks to artist Karrie Jax. I hope readers will enjoy this story of two men and many pets. With a bit of luck (fingers crossed) I'll have it ready to go before GRL in mid-October, although I probably won't have paper copies in time for the retreat.

*~*~*~

Love and Lint Rollers - blurb

Even with six beloved cats at home, Thom Fletcher can't help opening his heart to a little injured stray he finds at Pride. Luckily, the generosity of the veterinarian who helps him means he doesn't have to open his wallet. Thom's budget is stretched pretty thin, between his struggling start-up and medical expenses for his Crohn's disease, so the free cat care helps a lot. Thom may have fallen for the little feline, but he's also intrigued by the attractive vet in the bi-pride bracelet.

Dean Edwards went to Pride with his colors on his wrist, hoping to find community after his divorce. Instead, he's pulled into a cat rescue by an appealing man. Dean likes Thom's kindness to strays, his blue-gray eyes, his intelligence, and his perspective from decades as an out gay man. Maybe with Thom, Dean will finally feel able to explore his long-neglected attraction to men.

They're not a perfect match. From Dean's cat-hating dog to Thom's chronic health issues and preferences in bed, going from a casual date to something more will be a challenge for both of them.

Putting Pets in the mix

This weekend I'm blogging on Love Bytes Reviews about how much I love M/M books with pets in the story.

Also, I had a beta suggest that LGBTQ and childless couples may wince at having their pets called their "fur babies" in implication that they are replacements for human children. What do you think? Like this term or hate it?

Rainbow Briefs is published

My Young Adult short story collection under my YA pen name Kira Harp is now available - Rainbow Briefs volume 2 is free in ebook on Smashwords, and should distribute free to B&N, Kobo and iBooks in the next couple of weeks. It's .99 on Amazon until they decide to price match.

There is also a paper copy on AZ, and I'll bring some to GRL in October.

blurb:

Dragons don't care what gender you are.
A small town may be a refuge, or a trap.
Some younger brothers really do save the planet.
Three people can be the strongest shape.
There's nothing quite like a gorgeous girl on a shape-shifting motorcycle.

This second Kira Harp collection brings together LGBTQ teens in 21 stories of adventure, discovery, and romance, in fantasy, paranormal, contemporary, and SciFi settings. Ranging from a few short pages to 12,000 words, each story was inspired by a prompt picture from the YA LGBTQ Books Group on Goodreads.

(Content warnings for abduction, bullying, self harm, substance abuse, suicidal ideation.)

I hope readers enjoy this new collection of stories with teen MCs are who are gay, lesbian, genderfluid, trans, asexual, bi, poly, etc. It was fun revising the drafts from my YA group and polishing things up. The prompt picture descriptions are in the text, (and the actual pictures are in the YA group's "Tales Told" folder. ) I do love the challenge of writing to a prompt.
