Running in France
I know I haven't written much about my running on this site. I've devoted this area mostly to my fiction writing. I've written about local for SmilePolitely.com for a few years, but this article about running might not fit there. So here goes...
I started my marathon training in June. I'm training for the Chicago Marathon in October, and I hope to qualify for Boston again. With the bombings in April of this year, there is a higher than usual interest by other runners to run Boston in 2014, the...

Chapter 11
I've taken an extended break from fiction writing. Oh, I've been writing articles on running, but the last I wrote one of those I wrote was in May.
Comet Becky, although a first draft is finished, is not complete. I've been sitting on that since October, and it's an albatross that's been hanging around my neck. Everyone keeps asking about it. New cover finished!
The new cover to The Fifth Kraut is ready. Talk about an awesome project. My friend Mariano Ferro was the artist. He's the same artist for the unpublished Comet Becky cover that I wrote about here.
Here is the new cover:
It took us four weeks to complete the project with several emails back and forth about the right feel, tone, and character, and I think the results prove the hard work. The new cover will be available in print soon.
What did we start with? What was the process like?

New cover and more revising
The new cover is progressing nicely. My friend Mariano is hard at work on it and the initial sketches he's sent are looking good. He's moved from the initial draft stage to state two, where color is added. I'm looking forward to the final product!
I've been focusing on writing about running lately. Hopefully I'll feel the pull of my fiction again. I've put off revising the Ancestor Sword for a little while. Writing the novel was the easy part. Revising the mess into something palatable is some...
