10 Awesome Classic Horror Films That Are a Must See

There is nothing quite like a classic horror film. For classic I'm counting everything from the early cinema to the 60s and maybe the early 70s because it was before the era of the slasher movie. My favourites of the genre are mostly from the late 50s and early 60s, but anything is fair game.

This is an era where the films could not rely on CGI special effects. They had makeup, some of which was iconic, but the rest was done with lighting effects, scenery and, most important of all, plot.

Protagonist is turned into a vampire against their will and has to fight against the instincts. Bonus points if they have no idea what's going on.

The Lost Boys has it where Michael () is tricked into drinking blood from the bottle and starts to become a vampire, nearly killing Sam () before h...

The leads are playing themselves and at least one is a real paranormal investigator. The set-up is that they've been brought in by the Sheriff of Shepherdstown because he and his department are getting lots and lots of calls about paranormal activity, that they just can't cope with.

Which is The Scariest Vampire Movie? + Dead Before Dawn Ch3

Vampire movies are an odd genre. They are categorised as horror, but often, I have to admit, I don't find them frightening, very entertaining, but not frightening. With October on the horizon and the inevitable Halloween celebrations, I began to wonder if there are any really scary vampire movies.

Many of us like a good scare every now and then, don't we?

Of course different things scare different people. :) For me, ghost stories scare the willies out of me, but monster movies, not so much.

I th...
