Thursday thoughts...

My eye has been twitching all week.  lol  I think my eyes are telling me to get off the computer! haha
I can't stop working though.  I've been writing, promoting, blogging, tweeting, and reading.  Maybe I need a break.  I'm sure that I am overdosing on coffee too.  But I love this.  It's awesome.

Can I just say that I love Goodreads?  What a great site!  It has all these cool widgets and groups you can join.  I'm thinking about doing a giveaway on there too.  It has great resources for authors.  Plus, I'm meeting all these nice people that love books as much as I do!  It's perfect.  lol

My book is slowly starting to get reviews posted on the sites I have it available on and that makes me so excited!  I'm glad that people seem to be enjoying it.  That makes me happy.  I can't wait to finish the sequel and get that one out too.  Might be a little while though.  My attention is still on the companion book but I'm trying to figure out when to release it.  Before or after the sequel.  I think I might wait until after.

The lovely Sarah from Inklings Read just reviewed my book!  :)
Check it out here.

Really good thoughts on it, I'll take those into consideration with the sequel.

Right now my email inbox is calling my name... lol.  Yay for emails!  I love them.

Is it Spring yet?

I lived on the beautiful Holden Beach Island of North Carolina for about five years, before moving to Salt Lake City, Utah.  After having endured my first Utah winter, I have to say... I miss the beach.  It is so cold here.  It is just now finally starting to get warm.  We are halfway into April.

I really want to go to the bookstore today.  I'm currently reading "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle, and while it is a good book, it's kind of hard to get through.  Because it is so much info to process.  My mom suggested to me "The Catcher in the Rye" by J. D. Salinger.  Yes I know, I should have read it by now.  I love reading the classics.  But for some reason, this one has always slipped through the cracks and now... I have to go buy it.

Book related stuff:

I think I'm finally getting the hang of twitter.  lol

My first review posted!  Yay!  - My Book Addiction
It was positive too and I'm of course happy about that!  This is my first novel, and I hope that people continue to like it.  At the same I'm also open to constructive criticism so I can continue to grow as a writer.

Also, I totally re-done the whole formatting of my paperback version.  It looks pretty awesome now, and I'm happy with it.  Hopefully I'll be able to give away some signed copies of those on some of the blogs.

New stuff

I added an "Upcoming Projects" tab to the blog, just kinda to talk about what I'm working on now.  I'm still trying to get my book out there, it's proving to be pretty difficult.  But I'm not going to give up on it.  So I'm still working on that, and I'm trying to write at the same time.   Let's just say I'm drinking a lot of coffee.  If coffee didn't exist... well I wouldn't be able to write.  It's my only vice, and I'm not giving it up.

My next project is going to be a companion book to "The Advice Girl".  It's going to be an in-depth look at my character Sophia.  It will be written in her perspective and will chronicle her life through her journals.  Kira was allowed to read them in the first book, and I felt like it was a good idea to involve readers more with my characters.  I enjoy writing these characters and become quite attached so I felt like Sophia deserved her story to be told.

After that I will work on the sequel to "The Advice Girl".  I promise.  I know it ended in a way that makes you want to shake me and force me to tell you what happened.  I'm sorry about that.  But it had to be that way.  :)

I'm also going to be looking into ideas on a book trailer for "The Advice Girl".  I don't think my "blurb" really gets across the feeling of the book so maybe a little video will work better.

Coupon for eBook!

I'm doing a promotional coupon on Smashwords for my eBook if you guys want to check it out for free!
It's only good until April 3.  Just enter this code when you check out - AQ68Z

It won't let me do one for the paperback so it's just the electronic version.  All I ask is if you like it, then tell someone else about it!  Thanks!

Busy day

My book finally posted to Amazon.  So it's available now for Kindle.  I redid the cover a little, just made the text a bit bigger.

I also published it on Lulu last night/early this morning.  So it is also available in paperback.  I did the pocket size, and it's almost 200 pages, which isn't a long read.  I hope it's entertaining though.  That was so fun, designing the book jacket and everything.  I can't wait to order a copy.  *jumps up and down*.  As far as the price, I discounted it as far as I could.  It wanted me to list it as $15.99 and I couldn't do it lower.  So I marked it 40% off.  So it should be listed for $9.59.

I got the ISBN's today for the eBook, and the paperback.  And Amazon has their own system.  That just means that now my book will be searchable in the international database.  So... I'm working on getting the versions added to the Goodreads website.  So it's more searchable there to share and stuff.  I also have set up a profile on there but it takes them a little bit to verify that I am the author.  But I'll be posting that on here as soon as I get it done.

Smashwords has a pretty good catalog set up and they promote to places like Barnes and Noble.  They have their own eReading device - The Nook.  So the next thing on my agenda will be to publish it for that device and have it on the B&N site.  Just trying to put it out there as much as possible.  Then I can work on promoting it.

Thank you all for the interest!  I was surprised.  Especially all my facebook friends, you guys are awesome.  I love you all.
