Happy 56th anniversary to Allen Ginsberg's first reading of "Howl." Here's a relevant clip about Moloch and Wall Street.

wearethe99percent:

I am a realtor. I do not get unemployment. Last year B of A told my clients they did not quoalify for a loan mod, so they listed with me to sell their homes. Two months later, in Nov of 2010, B of A called all of my clients without telling me promising them they could keep their homes if they paid $2500. B of A LIED and took the houses back anyway, thereby costing me $30,000 in commissions which in turn caused me to default on all of my debt- including my home. I was forced to move in with my parents at the age of 32. I am the 99%.

No matter what the story these days, Bank of America ends up being the World's Most Satanic Financial Corporation. (Enjoy the brief break, Goldman Sachs!)

Those who dismiss the Wall Street protests as a gathering of young, useless members of the lost generation may want to have a look at these photos. Over 700 pilots from United and Continental Airlines demonstrated in front of Wall Street Tuesday. The pilots are protesting the lack of movement on collective bargaining agreement negotiations from the United/Continental merger, which reaches its one-year anniversary soon.

There may be varying demands amongst the protest's constituencies, but that variety does not diminish the importance of each grievance.

Fostering protest culture. When you're fed up, take it to the streets. Not your blog.

"Joblessness continues to rise, particularly among the youth, who typically makeup the majority in a riot. Overall, crime rates are at historic lows, but cities across the country are cutting basic services, like policing (New York, Camden), physical upkeep (Oakland), and public services (Madison, Milwaukee). We're likely to see frustrations increase among young people, at a moment when fewer social workers, school teachers, beat cops, and community leaders are at the ready to channel the energies into productive directions."

"The largest transfer of wealth from the public to private sector is about to begin. The federal government will be bulk-selling the massive portfolio of foreclosed homes now owned by HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to private investors — vulture funds."

Congress Giving Millions of Foreclosed Homes To Wall Street Slumlords

This should be kind of big news on the outrage front, shouldn't it?

Angry, frustrated and scared, thousands of unemployed Southern California residents gathered in Inglewood on Saturday to ask that their elected officials focus on helping them find jobs.:

They expected maybe a thousand to show up. At least twice that many jobless L.A. people turned out, "hurting, frustrated and angry." One day soon, they'll figure out that not even Maxine Waters is going to change the basic system of boom/bust with the poor and the black always taking the pain.

"We desire to be redeemed from the grossness of our consumption, the sham of our attitudinising, the teeming insecurities on which social networking sites were founded and now feed. We want to become reacquainted with the spellbinding narrative of expertise. If the problem for the postmodernists was that the modernists had been telling them what to do, then the problem for the present generation is the opposite: nobody has been telling us what to do. If we tune in carefully, we can detect this growing desire for authenticity all around us. We can see it in the specificity of the local food movement or the repeated use of the word "proper" on gastropub menus. We can hear it in the use of the word "legend" as applied to anyone who has actually achieved something in the real world. (The elevation of real life to myth!)"
