David Gemmell Legend Award 2013

The David Gemmell Awards are the only ones I talk about. I talk about them because I think they're such a good idea. A public-voted award in memory of one of my very favorite fantasy writers (and very interesting man) who died too young.

Also the prize is a spectacular fuck-off-big axe.

Because Voyager are so hardcore they listed King of Thorns late to avoid the spike in interest at launch - who needs those votes, right?

Two Jorg short stories!

Out of the love I bear for my readers... yadda ... yadda... Look, I've written a short story starring one Jorg Ancrath. It's free and you can get to the intro and link by clicking here.


Additionally there's a Jorg tale in the Unfettered anthology which has just gone on sale on Amazon kindle (or from Grim Oak Press for hardcopy) and features many huge fantasy names. That's not free, but I make nothing from it and the money goes to a good cause.

EoT - they're heeeeeeere! (giveaway)

I've just his morning been sent a box of Emperor of Thorns trade paperbacks (UK edition). The first consignment to reach me. Hardcovers from both the UK and US publishers should arrive before the end of the month.

I can't sell 'em and they're ridiculously expensive to send to the States (more to send than to buy new). But I can give some away.

On Sunday 16th I'll pick two people at random from my list of Goodreads fans and see if they'd like a signed copy.

It's all over. With your help King of Thorns definitely punched above its weight against the juggernaut that is Brent Weeks. It got 500(!) 'likes' and lost by 49.3% of the vote to 50.7% for The Blinding King. Huge thanks for all the support.
