A Quick Reminder About Freebies
Here’s a quick reminder – if I or anyone else tells you about a book being offered for free or discounted on the Amazon Kindle website and you are interested, please jump on it immediately. Don’t wait a few days or even a couple of hours, or you may see the book being offered for sale vs. what you thought was free! I’ve seen it happen many times over the years.
Why does that happen? Sometimes there is a glitch to the Amazon system, an author may have forgot to set the book’s promotion on the Amazon website, or who knows?
Bottom line here is don’t wait – log on to the website frequently (www.fkbt.com) or check your email shortly after 8:00 a.m. Central time for the daily digest if you are subscribed to the free daily email. Grab them now as once the book is yours, no matter if you paid nothing or $9.99 for a book, it is yours forever!
I should say something similar about books discounted to 99 cents: the author, for example, has told me their book(s) will be discounted for a particular day and I set the posts up in advance. The same issue that can cause titles to not be free can also apply to the discounting for a particular day. Please make sure you verify the pricing on the Amazon website before you click the “buy” button.

About the Author:
I have read science fiction since I was a small child. For over thirty years I have been making notes, writing outlines, and drawing deck plans of various colony ship. These jumbled ideas have finally coalesced into book form in my writing.
I guess I was inspired by many works in sci-fi which cover the idea of colony ships. Damon Knight’s “The World and Thorinn” and Robert Heinlein’s “Orphans of the Sky” showed me how bizarre and interesting a generational space ship environment could be and how so much could go horribly wrong. Those books, and many others in that same genre, have given me hours of pleasure in reading. There also have been board games and video games which cover similar situations. There are so many variations on the lost colony ship theme it almost seems like a trope. So, now I have added my own contributions to this genre of adventure fiction.
I worked as an RN for 10 years in various critical care units—cardiac, surgical, and medical. I saw lots of people die, and I also listened to some really amazing people share their life stories with me. I have worked part-time as a visitation pastor for my church for twenty years now.

About the Author:
It all started when she learned to read at five. One of her first and favorite memories is of words taped to all the objects in the house. Not long after that, books became the best thing ever and there was no turning back.
She suffered a crisis of confidence in High School and College and decided writing was too difficult, so she earned a degree in Chemistry instead. Three career changes and four children later, she’s back to writing and much happier for it.
Now she works from her home office in New Hampshire amid the books, kids, and occasional pets.

I write page-blistering thrillers about desperate people with a techno bent. For source material, I ran software projects, built video games, and crawled through corners of the dark net. For fun, I flew a Mooney over the Golden Gate Bridge, sped at 100+ mph over Highway 17 in a 911, and helped the police solve a hit-and-run. I even tracked down the offending vehicle. Filed under miscellaneous, I can mimic the sound of most farm animals, song lyrics often haunt me for days, and the sound of crunching leaves under my bike tires is pure music.
