Into the woods...

With dozens of new readers in multiple countries, we are officially launched. Working our way through the forest of promotion and wating for reviews from people we've never met. We wrote the book for fun, ours and yours. Then again, fun is all relative, and we will certainly welcome any honest feedback. Happy reading. -Dave

About the Book:   "The Ungettable Joke" poses the rather odd question: What do chickens have to do with science, faith, and the meaning of life?

Mysterious encounters with phantom elements of an ancient tribal culture are the main snares used by an intelligence that wants two young professionals to know something about the universe. The truth seems to be embodied in a super powerful Ungettable Joke. WIth the information they receive, the main characters develop an oddball theory of the nature of humor, then postulate the existence of a super-joke and begin to pursue it. In the process, they discover the existence of a cult fashioned after an ancient native culture that revered humor as their highest cultural value. What follows is a fantastical, humorous, and intellectual adventure that readers have said they "would like to believe is true".

The search leads to encounters with a vanishing anthropologist, fanatical gun-wielding cultists, possessed antagonists, otherworldly visions, self-imposed deceptions, a quirky beachside prophet, a lunatic or two, a singing fish, a powerful amulet, an anthropological breadcrumb trail, an ancient mechanism hiding a secret cave, trained attack chickens, and the FBI.

The Ungettable Joke crosses the road to a side of humor not seen before. It is a mystical chase after the funniest joke that exists, driven by forces that lead to a mystery of much larger proportions. Along the way, our main characters expose a seemingly unlikely relationship between humor, science, and faith. http://ungettablejoke.com/About_The_Book.html

About the Authors:
Bill Dargen and  Dave Squires are former college
roommates who stayed in touch after college by exchanging humorous letters.
Eventually they decided to try writing a book of jokes based on the quirky
humorous style they seemed to share. The attempt led them to the ungettable
joke concept and the idea that a humorous intellectual adventure story was waiting
to be explored. The letters they exchanged became chapters and they formed them
into The Ungettable Joke. Bill, as a High School math teacher and Dave as a
NASA contract engineer infuse the book with some of the seemingly impossible,
but nonetheless real, mysteries of math and physics which seem to reflect
ungettability in the cosmos.
