Six Sentence Sunday

Today I'm sharing a snippet from my new historical romance, MOONLIGHT MADNESS. Rance Kingsley, a notorious rake from the 17th century finds himself the victim of an ancient Druid curse.

The Official Blurb for Moonlight
Madness:

While visiting Wales, Rance Kingsley, Viscount Waldenham,
receives a warning that his daughter will soon be kidnapped by Spanish enemies.
Before he can aid her, Rance tumbles into a mysterious portal to the future.
His only hope is to find his soulmate, the key to returning. However his curse
continues when all signs point to Tess Hartman, a straight-laced teacher, as
his match. After a cheating boyfriend, the only male Tess wants in her life is
Dante, a troubled teen she would like to adopt. To bond with the boy, Tess
brings him on a class field trip to Britain. But the Shakespeare experience
becomes too real when sexy, eccentric Rance seduces her. When Tess falls for
Rance's kisses and travels with him across four centuries, she's convinced he's
made a mistake. How could she love a man who deceived her, separating her from
everything she cares about, a man with MOONLIGHT MADNESS?

From MOONLIGHT MADNESS, a Six Sunday snippet:

Was it her? Could it be? Mayhap a kiss would bring
the final sign he needed….

            Rance
drew her near, aware that her restrained hand had balled into a fist of
resistance, but too far gone, his patience could not be reclaimed. He bent
toward her, his hair falling to frame her face and his. Lips hovering above
hers, he explained softly, “I must find my mate.”

No Shave November

I thought hard about what my first post for November would be. I don't NaNo, because I'm cranking out every word I possibly can each day anyway. Of course, being thankful is on everyone's mind this time of year, so I thought of things I'm thankful for. Family, friends, my job, health, writing, men...

Then it hit me. No-shave November.

I'm not crazy about facial hair, but there are some instances that make me reconsider. So today's post is my homage to No-shave November...

It's time to expose those beards the guys have been growing all month. Bring the men out of the dungeon...

A little salt with your pepper? I enjoy seasoning myself.

If any man can pull off a beard with style, it's Firth!

And my personal favorite...

Just enough for a nice stubble-burn.

What's your whisker preference?

Wild at Heart

I wanted to let you all know about a project the Diamond State Romance Authors, my RWA chapter, have been working on.

This group of romance authors pulled together two collections of short stories compiled into books to benefit the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It's a large cat refuge that is doing amazing things for the rescued cats. Some of the authors include Elle James, Brinda Berry, Cynthia, D'Alba, Margaret Ethridge, Candace Sams, Gina Wilkins, Delilah Devlin, Karis Walsh and many others from across the nation.

All the profits will go to saving the lives of rescued big cats (tigers, lions, puma). The print volumes are now on sale at Amazon and would make great gifts. I'd appreciate any likes and tags and spreading the word. It takes a lot to feed and shelter the big cats.

Pinterest Much?

I've just begun playing with Pinterest. I've started three boards. One entitled, I Candy. I'll give you three guesses what that board's about and the first two guesses don't count! ;-) It's a collection of men who fascinate and distract me!

http://pinterest.com/sandrawrites/i-c...

The second is Wales. Again, it's obvious from the title. The board is filled with pins of the country and random Welsh things, including covers from my books set in that lovely old Celtic land.

http://pinterest.com/sandrawrites/wales/

The third is River Pirates. It's a collection of images I'm using as inspiration for my current WIP. Taylor Kitsch is there...like, a lot!!

http://pinterest.com/sandrawrites/riv...

I'm hoping this will be useful and less distracting than other social media sites. After just a week, I've discovered some seriously good boards and more fodder for my stories. Pinterest, I'm sold!
